It was an absolute dream working with Kristina - she's so knowledgable about Chilliwack and has a unique perspective on the community as someone who has lived all across the lower mainland.
I lived in Chilliwack for 20 years, escaping the 'wack' was a dream come true, lol. Couldn't pay me to live there it is just terrible even with the 'upgrades'.
Very well done video my friend... nicely shot & edited, well written, informative. I thoroughly enjoyed watching every second. You're doing a great job, keep it coming!
Unfortunately, mere steps from 1881 reveal the decades-long crime, drug and homeless issues that have and continue to plague downtown Chilliwack and the surrounding areas. I can guarantee you DO NOT want to walk around that area after dark. I lived there from ‘96-‘04 and remember how beautiful and peaceful the city used to be before the decline began in the early 2000’s with the rise of gangs and drug trafficking in the area which persists to this day. It’s sad and while I respect the effort to give it a Fort Langley vibe, it’s just a facade.
I lived there when I was a kid it sucked whenever I drive to Vancouver the best feeling is driving through and not stopping it is pretty looking at it on the highway while driving
Lovely video, I was in Chilliwack in June 23 visiting family and plan to be there again this year. I loved walking the 21km of the Vedder rotary trail. I didn't get to see district 1881, so that will be on my list this time.
That sounds awesome! Nothing beats a stroll on the trail in good weather! And definitely do! It's been built up since filming this episode even more so loads to see! We recommend roasting gun coffee for a quick cup!
Condering moving there from Toronto. I heard it is also snowy there. Are home owners required to remove snow within 24 hours after the snow stops? Really tired of shovelling snow.
A great question! So the official guidelines can be found here - www.chilliwack.com/main/page.cfm?id=471 But it's worth noting that Chilliwack on average gets 45-50cm less snow a year than Toronto. Our advice, give Kristina a call and ask her, she lives in the area and can let you know right away what to expect 😁
@@RewCaHomes That's how they trap ya. I will always have a love for Chilliwack, my heart still lives in the best home that has ever existed and it's beautiful. But once you really start seeing what's going on, it's truly sad as to what it's become. It's a city that truly had lightning in a bottle growing up.
@@crystalslattery1712 Crime drugs and violence run rampant. Everyone's broke, the cost of living is astronomical. Frequent home invasions. It used to be such a small beautiful city. The beauty truly has died
Anyone else surprised Chilliwack is more than fields or just Stephen 👀 ?

What a place 🎉
I'd love to see a followup episode with more of 1881 (what a beautiful neighbourhood) and with more of the 🐄.
Lets see if Kristina will have us back 🥰
Wow just learn so much about Chilliwack. The 1881 district is a hidden gem :D
It's so great isn't it!

@@RewCaHomes I booked my flight yesterday, so I am looking forward to watching the corn grow again this year.
Woohoooooo if you fall in love with the place some more and want a great Realtor in the area then @kristinalegault is the way to go!@@G4GUO
Chilliwack has become an absolute dump in recent years and continues to plummet. Crime ridden and drug infested. It's disgusting!
Home to the infamous! Nuff said! where do I sing up?
Nice video! Any properties in Webster are currently listed on the market?
For that you'll have to ask Kristina! www.kristinalegault.com/lets-talk
You can be sure she will be able to tell you straight away!
