bought this exact same guitar, wanted an American Series, but only had X-Series money. So... I stuck a set of Seymour Duncan Black Winters in it. Put Gotoh Locking Tuners, a little mounted Gotoh Toolkit, and the Gotoh Locking Nut/ Replaced the FR Special with the Gotoh 1996, ordered Green Titanium Hardware from Master Bolts
Awesome Review dude, Iv been looking for a weeks for a thru neck that's built good that I can slap some fisherman fluance micks into :) I think this is it
Bro, your playing swept me away! I was vibing waaaay more than I thought I was gonna be..! The chromatic lead patterns around 17 mins (ish) was sweet. Great video man! I luv the margarita green (that's what I call slime green with sparkle). I just got a Charvel San Dimas with that colour, or very close to it. Love it ! Looks sick! Of course it's not a neck thru, or mahogany, but the Floyd is 1000, and the pickups are JB + JAZZ... and the neck is satin and rolled edges. 🤷♂️ Prod n' cons... Yeah , imma hafta get a soloist. I've also got a dinky Charvel, so I like the smaller body... But I need that heavy chug you get from the thru neck mahog. I think I'll be going the next series up, tho. The SL3, I think they are... Indo made.. I've passed a few nice ones up, I'm looking to snag the next chance I get...
Great video, Jake! It’s been a while…really enjoy your playing. Nice tip on the neck and nice to see what it should look like. Hope all is well and look forward to more! Thank you.
Thank you dude! It has been a while I always look forward to see you screen name pop out 😂 being a steel worker has me busy but I got some cool stuff coming up!
Greetings, Jake. I have to say that it doesn't make any sense to me that both of those 103s tested almost the same. It almost seems like the manufacturer accidentally stuck a 103B sticker on a 103N humbucker. I have several sets of Duncan Designed HB 103s that I have bought used for my guitars, and the bridge always measures about 15-16K. And they certainly do not sound the same as the neck pickups. So, I really think you got a guitar with two neck pickups on accident, and one of them is labeled as a bridge pickup incorrectly. I hope this helps. Also, I must say that you play very well. ~Clinton
Dude thank you man!!! Goes to show that they don’t take QC seriously maybe they did grab two bridges by mistake and slapped on the label, but I’m questioning it because if you see the pole pieces are oriented for the bridge and and neck so do they stamp the “Duncan design” label before or after they are wind? lol I wind pickups too so it’s strange to know they labeled a bridge with the south coil if it should be north but in this case the reading should yield at maybe 7.8k ohms if it was 15k bridge but they maybe dint see it it i don’t know 😂 I’m just like all of here trying to figure it all out, maybe they made a mistake but still they sound decent! And thank you I take my playing secondary I rather give and find out information about these guitars cus they sound and play amazing but yes there’s questions left 😂
I don’t have names or titles for any of my tracks I write for my demos 😂 I just come up with them and name them after the guitar or pickup I’m reviewing lol

@@jakethefate thanks, Jake. And can’t wait for the cool stuff.
I'm pretty sure those Duncan Designed pickups, are modeled after the Duncan Mayhem Set...kind of weird that the bridge humbucker is so weak though?
They’re modeled after the Duncan Distortions
@@danickdube1516 Yeah...I know. Strange that the bride pickup is so weak seeing as it is supposed to be modeled after the SH6.
Cool guitar!
I love gloss necks actually. Each to their own :D
great indepth review, great job

Awesome video!! Can you please do a boss katana video and how you use the katana library
what was the song you were playing?

@@jakethefate wow they sound good bro
Awesome
You are wrong because nowhere is said that these are alnico. HB102 and 101 are alnico, these and Invader styled ones are ceramic.
poplar bodied guitars are not my jam. also jacksons massive frets are a huge turn off.
