@Da Brock I was a volunteer worker for that event. I helped with set up, ushering and post event gala. The mats were the same caliber 'Resililte' that they use for the NCAAs and Olympic and World trials. It was a matter of the event organizers wanting to keep the bouts on a rooftop in Manhattan overlooking the Brooklyn bridge. The event was a charity event that supported Beat the Streets_NYC. Many in attendance were what You might call casual wrestling fans albeit ones with deep pockets. In short, they wanted the full experience/rooftop party. From a logistical standpoint, since it was the last bout of the evening it didn't make for a whole lot of sense to move it inside where they had already set up for the after meet party. I am not saying that's right but that's the reality of the situation

Geduev who is just good(not great) wrestler broke him mentally and physicaly at OG 2016. Burroughs wasn't able to win bronze after this. Also by your logic, Satiev got broken mentally and physically by Brandon Slay, and got embarassed by a 19 year old Tsargush in 07. Geduev has a losing record against Burroughs, and retired without ever winning a world or Olympic gold medal, whereas Burroughs is a 6-time Olympic/world gold medalist who keeps coming back to face and beat the best wrestlers in the world. It is geduev who is mentally and physically broken thats why he quit at such a young age. Dont blame him though. Them state-sponsored Russian steroid injections must have take a toll 🤣

However, the baby-oiled mats hurt both my American brother from the New Jersey and Frank Chamizo. They both had to make the adjustments. Jordan did what a champion does. Dig deep and win!
love Burroughs and Im a USA wrestler as well but this was shameful.. 5:06 the ref obviously calls blows the whistle so Jordan wouldn't get taken down, even the commentator says he doesn't know why and you can see on Jordans face he didn't know why it was stopped. I cant take pride in my country winning a bias match. Much respect to both wrestlers for giving their best regardless.

Condensation on the Matt from being outside at night. Same principle as dew accumulating on a field of grass. Turpentine on the bottom of their wrestling shoes would be a great remedy.
