    Great content; I appreciate what a straight shooter you are and your analytical approach. As an artist who tends to think more visually and is more interested in creating something pretty or unique, keeping the brass tacks front and center is something I need to do more of. Thank you Steve.

      I wish I was an artist😀. I envy people with real talent.

      @@SteveMakesEverything I suppose “talent” is subjective but the economic viability of art has always been tilted in the direction of the starving artist. Thankfully, my husband is a PhD in aerospace engineering whose life revolves around running hundreds of Monte Carlos to smooth out the perturbations in orbits 🤣. He does all the math around here! His day job is more than full time so for us, what ever business we build will be intentionally small. From what I’ve gathered from your business building videos we won’t face any uphill battles in keeping orders to a minimum 😋. I really enjoy your content and you have me hot to trot for the ComMarker B4. In my primary modality of textile art we quickly learn to buy all of the machine you can, meaning power and range of function, so naturally I’m mulling the 50 watt version. If it’s not an imposition I’d love to hear your opinion on 20 vs 50 watt fiber lasers.

      @@CutItOutWithUs Like any laser, power ids king. The 20W B4 is a fine laser, but a 50W will engrave deeper and faster. If you have the budget, go big.

    Can you do a video on how you make your own cardboard boxes for shipping as this is a brilliant idea

    • @SteveMakesEverything
      @SteveMakesEverything  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I did a video a while back of how to make packaging that fits into a cardboard box, but the cardboard box is cheaper to buy than make.

    Sincere thank you for talking about the Copyright issue. I have seen so many makers doing things with Marvel, DC, Disney, etc... characters, and wondering how the "Copyright police" have not sent them injunctions, or cease and desist orders. I know Disney doe snot license anything.

    • @SteveMakesEverything
      @SteveMakesEverything  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are unlikely to sue unless you are selling items engraved with their copyrighted material. It just easier to ensure the license is free

    Do you sell the package design details for coasters? Or can you point to where or how to do it please? I've been uncertain about how to safely post slate tiles. Thanks!

      Shoot me an email and we can chat offline. I've been planning to make SVG files available - maybe this is my inspiration. I did do a video previously to show how I designed and created the exact style of coasters I show here.

I made some with celtic designs for family last year, but lacked a practical postage solution as I agree with you about the packaging being a part of the 'experience'. So much to learn! :)

    Dont sell to an agent or shop or middle man as they will cut you down in price. Sell direct, keep the profits.

    • @SteveMakesEverything
      @SteveMakesEverything  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Agreed. I try to sell direct whenever possible. My Etsy store is shamefully scant because I hate giving someone else 20+% of my money for what amount to telling my what address to ship something to.

    Steve i have a question, the muse core and the 3D is there anything one can do that the other can't do ?

    • @SteveMakesEverything
      @SteveMakesEverything  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It has numerous lenses available for different cutting options and can also be expanded to add a rotary attachment. It also provides a pretty impressive camera using Intel’s 3D imaging chip that allows for things like auto and continuous focus. Some other lasers offer some of these as well but they tend to be more industrial products.
      In the end most lasers in this category are pretty solid and feature rich
