Hi great video. So real!! I'm Irish living in Indonesia and I'm a cookie baker actually so it was nice to see your video. Brown sugar is too expensive here. Soooo my question for you is... Would it work with granulated sugar? Or should I blend my white sugar first to make it finer. Your sugar in the video looks so fine. The sugar Granules here are quite big.
Welcome from Indonesia! Yes absolutely use it with your granulated sugar. This type that I used is considered granulated sugar in North America but there are definitely lots of different sizes of sugar grain available. For brown sugar, don’t blend. You can use a hand mixer, your fingers, stand mixer. If you blend sugar you will have powdered sugar!! Well, you’ll have to add some sort of starch to it so it doesn’t cake up and become a block (corn starch, arrow root, etc. will keep it light and fluffy). Happy cookie baking! I’m hoping this helps you cut costs on brown sugar. Have a blessed day!
This Calm Cottage Tip is So much FUN. I am converted AND the office kitchen coffee tea drinkers will be So HAPPY 4ever. BIG THANX
I like to have both kinds. It's just harder to find both and with todays prices, I'm ready to make my own, Thanks for the tips!

Pro tip. If you coat the measuring spoon with cooking oil before putting in the molasses, it’ll all slide right out ☺️

There's also treacle.
