This was a Red Dress Heart Disease event so I think she was trying to keep the songs/setlist "inspirational" AND upbeat by doing songs about being strong and overcoming. I feel yall but I think the setlist was very intentional for the purpose of the event. Kelly did a stellar job.
The audience consisted mostly white older men and women which would explain why they were so dead. They probably have no idea who she is. That aside, she sounds fucking amazing man. Come on Kellyyyyyyy!!!

And I also believe she was inspired by her own mother who worked and essentially let the knowles take over for a while when the group was being basically trained. So crazy how our journeys really make us who we are! Love Kelly! Keep going and being iconic.
What I love about her and B's relationship is the fact that Kelly was even allowed to sing these songs and show that she could give them due justice on her own. When groups split, the lead singer is commonly the ONLY one that gets to perform those songs from the group. So glad i got to see this!

First of all the tracks that destinys child recorded wrote etc. are from them the Label they have the masters soo which means those are not Beyonces songs. Every member of each group, lead singer or not, you are allowed to sing all the songs. Xscape did that when they split up Kandi, Tocha and Tameka were singing their songs every time as solo acts they did not ask each other for promission Dawn and Maxine from en vouge did exactly the same, Even Farrah can do a concert and sing those songs without asking them. So you knowledge is wrong she doesn't ask Beyoncé, and she doesn't have to because Beyoncé does not have the rights to stop her doing that 😉
