@@bazingonator I don’t understand this obsession that so many people have to defend their favorite character and justify every action they take. Just enjoy their evilness and get it over with😂
This video does not have enough views by far, many kudos to you 🙏 Yours is my favourite Daemon edit out there, I come back to it every month or so. You captured his fire, his intensity and the way he relates (or doesn't relate) to the people around him 🔥🔥
I haven't seen a single person who thinks that Daemon is a good person. We love him because he's NOT good, nor is he bad. That's why people love saying that he's a gray character, and we adore him.
People romanticized Daemon's too much cause of Daemyra, but he has changed already in the last episode proving he's willing to surpass on anything to get revenge on the Greens. I believe his redeeming quality was his love for Viserys cause it was genuine, but now that he's gone im expecting Daemon to become the Blackest of Villains as the same book claims. Maybe the redemption a sort of it it will come when he meets Nettles. Who has read the book, should know what happens, but to Rhaenyra Daemon has been a weapon on double cut. He helped and demaged her to the same time. He's not a loving faithful husband nor good man but we love him for it. He's messed up controversial and complex. I can't wait him to see him in the next seasons. He's my fav Targaryen in both, book and Show, cause Matt Smith nailed the role. Great video.
Really nice video. And yes, I agree Daemon is a not good person. He is a character that is interesting but I wouldn't trust. I certainly would admire him from a far, but I would be very afraid if he was my lover or family. Because on a whim he may just change his mind. And something tells me that whatever romantic feelings he has for Rhaenyra will be completely extinguished. And likewise she feel that about him. That's what I think will go. So don't take my opinions to seriously. Lol.
All hail lord daemon, Matt Smith is the best actor on the show I reckon only cus he got a lot of great scenes this season and the Otto actor Rhys. EP 3 made me love him when he kills crab feeder and ep 2 when he defends his brother to corlys I speak of my brother as I wish. I'm conflicted with him a lot he has good and bad moments and I hope he continues to be Gray and does bad and good things (family redeeming quality Def's I reckon). Under rated edit man I've seen a lot of these and this one is very good as well and deserves more views. Daemon is a man who was loved by many but in return hated by many he's like 50/50 like dislike depending on the scenes it's really interesting character. I feel his choke scene in ep 10 was out of place in my opinon and was another werid decision. Chaotic characters always make it fun to watch and see what they are going to do! For your description yes he's a caring brother to viserys but misguided in his words and all he wanted was a proper place by his brother's side, the whole egg stunt in ep 2 was just to get his attention, husband maybe he had deleted scene where he hugged his kids taken out and ep 8 give viserys letter and I think 1 more beach scene ep 10 was meant to be longer him grieving. So he would of got a few more sympathetic scenes. Also Otto twisted daemons worlds about the kid in the scene before the toast he was clearly sad and only said it for the goldcloaks morale. Him warning about Otto too Def's looked out for his bro. I kinda agree Otto was good hand but he got way too misguided once aegon got born and as you said thought about what would the realm think not how I can serve viserys and be a proper hand ✋. Def's viserys fault too not letting rhae talk to aegon growing up making her stay in King's Landing etc. In my opinion aemond is much worse and more villianous and I wish ep 10 it wasn't an "accident" cus this war both sides are meant to be bad right? Do unquestionable things, keep seeing people say oh the book was maester well they clearly changed some of these characters. EP 7 when he rehired Otto daemon thinks it's a spit in his face so when viserys says I have a seat for you he thinks fuck off which is fair enough in my opinon after what Otto pulled. I think daemon just acts on impulse and sometimes it can be really bad cus he could of rejoined his brother there if he sat down with him longer but he would have to convince viserys somehow to fire Otto AGAIN so impossible task. I am shocked if anyone is saying anyone's a saint on this show lol they Def's have all done questionable decisions
Well, all I can say is that I think Daemon is a darker character than the way you describe him 😅 He's not a villain, but he's a trickster. Very chaotic and always looking for a benefit for himself. But again: I don't have any problems with that. For me, it looks even more interesting and intriguing. Throughout the series, I unraveled Daemon's motives like a Rubik's cube. Regarding the choke scene: I disagree. I'm very skeptical about Daemon's love for Rhaenyra, to put it simply, I don't really believe in it. I'm not saying that he doesn't feel anything for her at all, but let's be honest: Daemon wanted to ruin his niece's reputation when he dragged her to a brothel and took off her hat so that people would see the color of her hair and start gossip about the whore princess. Putting myself in Rhaenyra's shoes, I don't see how this can be forgiven. He uses her as a tool to further his political ambitions (to be fair, she does too). And that choke scene proved it perfectly. Rhaenyra started to argue about politics, and Daemon didn't like it. Unfortunately, many viewers see in this scene only how a man strangles a woman. Just the very fact of violence, abuse. Therefore, it is condemned, first of all, from the point of view of modern morality (“after all, my favorite character is not like that, I cannot support an abuser 😭”). But, like I said, we have to throw out modern morality when watching this series. I don't know if you've read Fire and Blood, so no spoilers, Daemon and Rhaenyra's relationship will only get worse in the future. The choke scene is just the beginning. And that's why I was even glad that it was inserted, because all my theories about Daemon were confirmed.
Great video. Although I did find your comments about the Daemon fanfare ironic because you explicitly said the opposite about Aemond: "My Twitter, my Tik-Tok, my TH-cam, my Pinterest, all my social networks are filled with content on Aemond Targaryen... (And I love it, keep it up, guys!)". So unless you want to argue that Aemond is a great "internet bf", especially knowing the things he does in the books, you shouldn't judge how other people choose to engage with the characters or the show.
Thank you. Daemon is one of my favorite characters. I SPECIFICALLY repeated it in the description. So how can I judge those who like him too? Can we love bad guys? We can. But why justify their actions? The whole point of my description. Daemon is a sociopath and I love it. Aemond is a psychopath and I love it (never said he's a "great internet bf", btw, cuz firstly, this is insane and secondly, I'm too old for this). I have never seen posts where Aemond's crimes would be justified seriously, and not ironically. But I saw a bunch where they made almost a hero out of Daemon. You're confusing things: I like to see content on these two (I made a video of them myself, lol), but I don't like some viewers' analysis about "noble" prince Daemon. Do I have the right to criticize what I do not agree with? I think yes.
@@bazingonator Well, let me assure you that there are plenty of people who justify Aemond and even Aegon, unironically. That's just the internet being the internet. House of the Dragon is massive and Daemon is very popular so it's easier to get exposed to Daemon defenders than most other characters but that doesn't mean it's a unique phenomena.
@@Bishey Anyway, I can only rely on my own experience. Perhaps I am lucky that there are no people in my circle who justify Aemond and Aegon. Again: I choose to simply enjoy the character and not justify his actions. But to me the fans who haven't read the books and defend Aemond and Aegon seem more logical than the fans who defend Daemon. I'll explain: Aemond and Aegon in the series are... Victims? Aegon was abused by his family and Aemond was bullied, plus that "accident" with Luke. (I'm pretty sure they want to make a second Jaime Lannister out of him. A tragic hero that no one can understand.) Victims are always more sympathetic. Daemon, on the other hand, has never been a victim. He has always been a bundle of ambition, cruelty, cunning. He's the one who created problems, not got into them. You can root for him, but justify him? Why, if he is already so magnificent in his badass form? Why attribute to him qualities that he does not have? For example, the whole storyline with Daemon and Viserys is a complete farce for me. I do not believe in Daemon's sincerity, and if I were Viserys, I would have severed all ties with my brother long ago. Maybe it's Matt Smith's charisma that makes viewers idealize and romanticize Daemon, I don't know. So yes, the audience reaction to Daemon is a phenomenon for me.
@@liebertjohann8524 I've only seen this in Twitter debates where opponents are just trying to "hit" each other harder. Some laugh at Luke's murder, while others say that the whole Blood and Cheese thing is good and right 😶
thank you for acknowledging the fact that Daemon is in fact, not a good person, but that we can still appreciate and enjoy him as a character
Thank you for understanding my point 🥺
