thanks for the help, its a god start to know abut the cubase stock plugins before diving into professional program like logic or pro tools...just make sure your not serious or paid for this thing
Loved the tangent about tremolo arms needing to be renamed "vibrato arms". Being my friends' most trusted music nerd, explaining this to them has led to some hilarious arguments.
Love this episode so much! It is not about how much of premium plugins you owned but it is the knowledge & skill you mastered and turn every plugin like a swiss knife make your music sound so good.
you should do a vocabulary episode where you go over the different terminology and acronyms frequently used. maybe your typical audience is too advanced for this, but im sure a ton of people would still enjoy it
👍😁I've learnt more from Dom in three months, than any other 'Cubase Expert' in the past ten years. I wouldn't ever have considered using those particular plugins for mastering. I'll be trying it all out soon👍Dom is "the don"... Ensure you subscribe to him, as he's bang-on-it and prolific - no fillers, all thrillers!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I like firstly use glue compressor Lil bit then correction eq then multiband compressor for enhancing things and limiter with izotope insight for see some pictures of my mix in correlation meter and lufs meter
Love these Cubase vids, if it wasn't for your channel I'd be doomed! you have such a flow explaining, thanks for sharing the sauce! id love to get some vids on how to know if my vocals are well mixed and how to proceed when it comes to mastering, I learned a lot from your channel so far, can't wait to get my grammy in the future with the bomb music I'm about to be making with these new skillzzzzz.
Hey Don, your video just made me understand how side-eq works. Fantastic job! Oh, and I need to ask: Who created this song and how is it called? It really rocks! Greetings from Brazil!
I do absolutely love the Magneto. Not only for my mastering chain, but also because it allows me to have control of METAL!!! Lol 🤣 Thank you for this video Dom. Pure gold, as always.
For me the biggest revelation out of all those, is the MultiBand Envelope shaper....I accidentally dropped it on a drum buss recently....and, Instant ROOM if I wanted it, with very little effort, and more kick & snare punch if it was lacking. I really need to invest time in Frequency 2. I've always used Voxengo Gliss for dynamic EQ'ing, but Frequency can do so much more! ;:-) Also need to invest more time in Magneto and Quadrafuzz. I'm still on 10.5 so no Squasher yet.
The Multiband Compressor, Frequency 2, Magneto AND the Imager a little bit more stereo I have on the master bus all the time. The Multiband Compressor has many presets you can work with. But I also have Soothe 2 and Gulfuss just about everytime so I won't spend too much time on mastering.
Video Idea: Show me how to use Stochas, or any other VST MIDI plugin with Cubase. Other examples: All of the 'Player' devices in the Reason Rack plugin, or any of the REs or Player devices by third parties. Or any of the other VSTs that do midi sequencing, or generative sequencing. I have tried to find a video that explains how to do this, and I keep coming up dry. Stochas is a great option to use as an example, because it's free.
I've loved Quadrafuzz 2 for many years. Could easily be a 3rd party plugin. Frequency 2 is amazing and has, by and large, replaced the Multi-band compressor for me, mostly because FRQ2 is kinder on the CPU than the multi-band compressor, but also because it's surgical. Totally love the multi-band expander too. My question about Magneto II is how it actually holds up in comparison to other common 3rd party tape emulation plugins. I mean, I really like it, and I often use it for certain things to save CPU, but it's not my goto. Is that silly? I mean, I know it's different strokes for different folks when it comes to choosing saturation flavours, but should I trust Magneto II as being as accurate in helping turn digitally recorded material into feeling like it's got that analogue tape vibe?
Thanks @dom for this vid! 🔥 realy nice using (never think about it) quadrafuzz for suttle saturation in masterchain, also using the widener for different bands! 🥸 still thinking about „unwide“ low frquenzies with cubase pro stock (10.5) plugins 🤔 greetings MG
Order is very important! There is no secret recipe but a typical I use is - corrective EQ if needed, filters, compression- saturation- colour EQ- clipping (if needed), limiting- dithering :)
@@DomSigalas Ah thats a shame -- maybe it was too difficult to secure them all with e-licencer or they'd have to pay the dongle company a fee for each product! Thanks anyway
Hey Dom! Thank you again for another awesome video! I just want to make sure, for the MultibandCompressor - DOM MASTER GLUE settings, did you have anything activated on the SC drop down section? I dont believe you did or you would of shown it. Just wanted to run a few tracks through it and see how it sounds but I want to make sure it's actually configured correctly. You're the man Dom, been a Cubase user since ver 5.
Yeah, great plugins but they're not better than the person using them as usual and you have to listen listen listen to know what to listen for. It's not set it and forget it plugins that will save your mix. It's more like learn what they do and then don't use them haha ... unless you have to. Then they're great. They're even better used on individual tracks for coloring instruments and noisescapes. Quadrafuzz is gorgeous!!!
Thank you Marc. I try to keep the channel as ad-free as possible. But I think you will understand that all this content creation, editing , shooting etc is a full-time job and I am not a full time TH-camr. I choose not to lock the content behind a paywall but sometimes ads are needed to cover a small portion of the time and money I spend to produce these videos. Sorry you found it annoying , I get it. Cheers!

That Multi band Compressor is amazing. I actually use it as my go to compresor on everything
That‘s incredible! Is just finished my latest cubase template using only stock and free plugins ❤️
Great stuff..i was just thinking about this last night. Almost ready to mix my first project in cubase pro 11...😁...thanks man
I like firstly use glue compressor Lil bit then correction eq then multiband compressor for enhancing things and limiter with izotope insight for see some pictures of my mix in correlation meter and lufs meter
could you make a video on how to best record vocals, what levels to record at and such
Thanks for sharing, my spending tendancies on new plugins has greatly diminished since I re-entered the Cubase world.
I've taken notes of everything! Thank you really much
You missed stock maximizer! I use it in every master.. Its glues the elements so well and it made me forget all the limiters in the market!!
Imager, Magneto, EQ-10,, Compressor transparent one, Multiband Compressor, Frequency dynamics section, Brickwall Limiter. Otherwise AR-TG for stereo width, Vertigo VSM 3, API 560 eq, IVory 1band comp, IVory 3 band Comp, Fab filter dynamic only, Brickwall limiter.
Great video Dom,keep up the good work, thank you for everything!!!
Thanks Dom this was extremely helpful and informative. Because of your videos I have revisited the stock plugins and features that I was not aware of.
Glad it was helpful!

Dude, who was that track you were using for reference? I'd buy their album!

Magneto could easily be a third party plugin ;)
For real!

My favorite plug in for Mastering in Cubase is the Maximizer
Very useful, thank you sir. Big fan of the multiband comp as well as frequencey 2. Looking forward to trying others you mentioned.
Magneto II kinda on everything :) Thanks Dom!
great video, thanks once again Dom
Very useful…thank you!

I don’t know who made the song but I’m sure Dom sang the vocals you hear in this video
Thank you far this video🙏 May God bless you 🎶🎵🙏

Thanks for the vid. The song you are using is really catchy. Do you have a link to the band?
Nice video i like the cubase maximiser on drums and master, i will test out the quadrafuzz looks pretty good 👍🏽
not my favourite mastering plug-in but still useful for mastering is the Stereo Enhancer
Yaaay, so coool, you’re doing this!!!!!
Thanks❤️❤️❤️ for this i requested for this and you making a video appreciated
Absolutely- I write down all requests! it might take sometime but I try and schedule as many of them as possible ;)

What does the "live" button do? and should I use it while adjusting settings? thank you! :D
Nice, but what do you think about the mastering preset @11 pro, can you compare this?
As soon as there’s a sale I’m defo upgrading to Pro 🤞
Mom's the word.
Cheers 🥂
Los Pollos Hermanos - Better Call Dom hehe. 😎👌🎶✌
Hahahahaha
Thank you
They need to put the latest version of "Frequency" into WaveLab. (I'm waiting!!) :)
Great video, Dom!!
It’s called Master Rig ;)
@@DomSigalas Thanks Dom!! I 'should' have known about that. :)

For me Magnetto is super viable for getting some analogue warmth. If it sounds good, it sounds good 👌🏼
Hello, I just wonder are we going to use all these plugin in mastering track, or just anyone of these? Thank and waiting for answer.
Quadrafuzz is a powerful spice. Just a dash goes a long way.

another great topic for a new video would be: gain staging within the mastering process ;-)
Does anyone have Tinnitus (tin-nayh-tus) wondering if it effects other musicians. Dom keep doing you bruh. You are empowering.
Can the multiband effect voice from the mastering... If you have a bad vocal record and not data to remix it...
Ηere we are your old students and every video of us goes to the first grade of DOM'S school...So thank's again...!!!!
❤️❤️❤️
Maximizer
People dont know that's dom singing.lol.
Great lesson hombre
they do because somebody writes that in the comments every time
@@annother3350 an i was just saying joking.cause i never knew or did not know that fact.lol
oh really? thats awesome!
Should we use the plug-ins in that order when mastering? Gain staging comes first, but then does it really matter after that?

@@DomSigalas Thank you Dom, really appreciate it!
is there aliasing in cubase plugins (that add harmonics) in 48k ?
Thank's Dom BUT why use Cubase for mastering when there is A WaveLab tailored for mastering also with montage???
I will touch this on a video! Very good question!!! I love Wavelab and use it all the time for mastering!
Is there a way to use Cubase plugins in Wavelab?
Most of them are there nowadays :)
