Edit: not a padres fan, but when a team trades for Juan Soto, Josh bell, and Josh Hader at the deadline, the fan base would seem to love it right? Doesn’t mean they’re the happiest a week after lol

Now they need to Lock him up to a max extension contract because this guy deserves to be in California for a long period of time I don’t think that he would’ve lasted with the Nationals long-term I just think that he could’ve ended up either in a Padres uniform or a dodger uniform or a Red Sox uniform or even a Yankees uniform or even a Braves uniform because those are the hottest teams in baseball right now, so this is definitely a great deal I would say that’s an A+ because they need a guide to help stuff up in that lineup now that Eric Hosmer is no longer there and is in a Boston uniform so I think that he definitely is doing a great job at least filling in some of those shoes even though he plays the outfield so they need a big bat and they went out and got him!! Great deal!! As a Detroit Tigers fan I’m kind of disappointed that we didn’t do very much we got rid of a good relief pitcher in Michael Fulmer, and Outfielder in Robbie Grossman but we get 2 minor-league pitchers back, but as a baseball fan this is awesome!!

The Padres are going to regret this. Nudged their WS chances by all of 3.5%. They gave up about 4 years worth of player development for a 5-6 win DH. The comparisons to Ted Williams ignore how much better the league is now, and as great a hitter as Soto is, he's not head and shoulders above the world the way Williams was. In fact Soto is Bryce Harper since 2015 with an extra 20 walks a year, but worse defense than Harper. It's a shame the Padres bungled like this because of Preller's ego.

@Lamar Goated that was soto second year and let me remind you that soto agains the brewers wild card game with 2 out and the bases loaded in the bottom of the 8 inning he clear the bases agains one of the best closer in the league and for that hit they made it to the playoffs, in the playoff he smash 5 home runs against kershaw , verlander and cole.
