- In this video, I talk about how Madame Chiang Kai-Shek helped create Modern China. She did this by changing how the world viewed China and the Chinese people. She used her charm and force of personality to influence Americans to support China in their joint war against Japan and then the Communist. Even though she and her husband Generalissimo Chiang Kai-Shek never realized their dream of unifying China, she can still serve as an inspiration and example of people today can use their privilege to serve their country.

And it was sad that Soong Mei Ling’s relationship with her second older sister Soong Ching Ling (the one who married Sun Yat Sen) never recovered. Because of Soong Mei Ling’s marriage to Chiang Kai Shek and Soong Ching Ling sided with the communist.
Indeed. Two powerful sisters on opposite sides of the civil war.
Do you guys think that Ching Ling was also a hero in her own right??
I guess that depends on which side of the Revolution you were on! Nationalist or Communist.
I think she was strongly misguided. She is said to have regretted supporting the CCP late in life. @homeschoolnolan

She was a better political leader. But Nationalist China also needed an effective military leader to defeat the Communists.
