This hurt the PAX network too, they were just starting out and ordered 200 episodes banking on this being a hit, production company was only able to produce a fraction of the order. Last thing you want to do when you're starting out is to make a show where no one got paid.
@@marcpower4167 just 25 got made. None of the celebrities or Peter got paid, and none of the contestants got their prizes, even though one person actually went so far as to call the offices of the Pax network demanding they pay for his trip to St. Thomas.
Do you know if the late Peter Marshall had a nickel for every time he hosted the game show were the contestants didn’t receive their prizes… he would have two nickels Which isn’t a lot, but how crazy is it that it happened more than once?
This PAX game show, never caught on after 30 weeks on PAX, it's a shame that no one got the prizes neither Peter Marshall nor the celebrities got paid.
IMO, if this Reel to Reel wasn't gonna be a success (if it would tank as badly as it did), then the announcer's copy should have been written to where Peter Marshall was the "host" of the show, instead of the star.

Same thing happened when they got the flop called yahtzee finally on the air back in the mid-eighties.
