I have a love/hate relationship with Bartson.. I love fishing the place but it's a trip and a half from Winsford. I've framed so many times chucking an old style open method just 20-30m. I find the better stamp Carp gain more confidence faster, if the odd pellet can flutter around the kill zone. Hybrid feeders for me are more F1 orientated. For larger Carp I certainly don't fart around with anything shorter than a 4" hooklength. Good candid upload though Rob!!
