This game is a total masterpiece. Both artisticaly and gamedesign-wise. Great video. Now I am playing Deus Ex Mankind Divided and I am pleased to say it is also fantastic. And so is the new Hitman. God damn last year was the best for stealth immersive sim game fans like me.

Yeah MSG5 was great too. All that is missing is new Splinter Cell and quality new Thief. But unfortunately since both Dishonored and Deus Ex sold less than expected, I am bit worried if we are going to get high quality sequels or new stealth IPs.
"A Crack in the Slab" and the Clockwork Mansion level deserve some kind of big award. I literally pulled non-videogame people into the room I was gaming in to show them the time travel device in "A Crack in the Slab." The only critique I'd have is that the decay looks like at least 50 years, not just 3.

Maybe I'm an exception, I dunno, but I can easily get around the entire mansion without ever even being spotted and kill everything. You can approach Jindosh from above or below, though admittedly it's a bit cramped once you get to the top of the rotunda where he resides, so I'll give you that. Would be really cool if Dishonored had the same AI as Left 4 Dead, where the enemies are placed randomly, including the main boss. That way, you have to search for and hunt them down every time you replay a level.
You are right. Placing them randomly does make it harder, but It doesn't make sense, because some people will get very easy targets (the target is the first person you encounter), others will get an impossible one. Also, the targets appear where they feel the safest from you. The Duke won't wonder around the mansion when he knows you are coming for him. he is most likely to stay in the two most secure places (His room or the throne room), while Jindosh will stay in his lab, surrounded by 2 of his best fighter creations where, to his knowledge, there is only one entrance to.
It's actually not that hard to stealth kill the clockwork soldiers once you know how. Stun mines/spring razors are effective (though you'll need to use two charges to actually kill the soldier) - simply place the trap, and then throw an item to lure the soldier over to the mine. If that's too item-intensive, you can also shoot off their heads with hardened crossbow bolts (note: the bolts MUST be hardened - i.e. this will only work if you get the hardened bolts upgrade), which blinds them and makes them really easy to sneak up on/avoid (or you can just let them kill other enemies for you). Considering you can have up to 20 bolts, this is really quite inexpensive - particularly given the fact that rendering them headless makes it possible to kill them via a single drop assassination. There's really a tonne of ways to dealing with them.
If you liked the Dishonored games, you should check out Prey from 2017, which is another game made by Arkane Studios (the developers who made Dishonored 1&2). I'll warn you right now that the first 2-3 hours can be kind of rough and you might die a lot. But once you get a few upgrades and powers it becomes super awesome and addicting
Actually they kind of made three different levels, Stilton's Manor in the past, Destroyed Stilton's Manor in the future, and Restored Stilton's Manor in the future.
You must not have played through the game very much. Not only is playing without powers an extremely fun challenge (the Flesh and Steel achievement), but the design of the level is so innovative and fun and creative. You should really play through the game again and give it another chance, I don't think you'll regret it.
No i have completed it and was a little disappointed with the level design and enemy placement compared to the first game. You call it a fun challenge, i call it boring. Some of the levels are way too story focused for me as well compared to the first which, if you dont care about the story only serves to frustrate you.

This has to be one of the most interesting and memorable missions of all time. It took me three hours to thoroughly complete it and solve the puzzles my first time. My mind was blown by this mission

Dishonored 1 & 2 are my two favorite games in 43 years (32 of them playing games or so). Just insanely memorable, well designed, amazing games. Side note, this is my first time seeing this girl, she's gorgeous. I love hearing background info about games like this.
Literally every level has an interesting spin, in a completely unique world. Same with the first game. Time travel, a clockwork mansion, Lady Boyle's party, the flooded district...

There is no spoon 4? I thought there are 3 the first one in the present before you get the ability to go throw time there is the one in the past and there is the one in the present that you can go to if you put Stilton to sleep in the past

If you knock him out of course he still lives and is allied with you on the dreadful whale, but there's also people in the present time manor. However if you kill Stilton then he could not ally with you, obviously, and there would be absolutely no one in the present time. It will still look vacated and in one piece.
JaVon Bolaños I know it and did you know that if you keep him alive when you go back to Magen she have two arms and two eyes? Because she lost them when she tried to break in to the minor so if Stilton is fine she never had to get in so she never lost her eye and hand

So i just got this "time piece" this morning and just couldn't shake how brilliant this level was. I usually dont think about game design. I was blown away with how brilliantly complex jindoshs mansion was and I'm thinking that couldn't be topped. Now im at this level and just impressed
Just completed this after waiting for a decent PC port, absolute masterpiece both in art and level design, this level has to be one of the most ambitous and unforgettable levels I've ever played in a game and I've played a LOT of games. Thankfully I hadn't had it spoiled and this was a surprise for me. Amazing game
I remember this level as when I knocked out my target, I started seeing people in the garden in the present that I haven't saw before. Suddenly, it felt like I no longer have a safe space to hide, until I understood the situation. Then again, the civilians in the present will still ruin your stealth achievement if you linger long enough.
I saw something like this for another game, I think it was called "Gemini." It had the same basic concept of time travel and I liked the idea of having a whole game do this, but never did see more on the game.
imo, the decision to remove powers was really a stab in the back at first, but in hindsight, was a real challenge when you've used the hell out of shadow walk/bend time like me lol

First time playing this level, once I time-travelled my jaw dropped and I had to pause the game and take a step back, needing to process it all 😂 It was way too epic. I literally just walked around the house a bit, looked out the window, had a glass of water.. Before returning to play 😂

"inputing code while avoiding the guard" or you can choke all the guards, kill them, sleep dart (with 4 traits sleep dart recovery crafted bone charm) hardest mode, still easy lol although the first time playing the level was very refreshing, 2nd round in new game+ was very tedious
sackbot10 I did ask Christophe about the replayability of the level. It's certainly not as strong as the others, as once you get the key you can pretty much blitz through. But I think the first time round, it was incredible.

This map is by far one of the BEST created maps in modern day gaming.

I think they made 3 versions of the level not 2. Past, Original Present, Altered Present.
There are three possible 'presents' that I'm aware of: original present, Stilton knocked out and Stilton killed.
Is there anything you can do in the past to fix the present mansion? Cuz I don't think the mansion got any better when I play

This isn't the best level in dishonored 2. It's fun the first few times, but ends up getting boring.

sackbot10 I did ask Christophe about the replayability of the level. It's certainly not as strong as the others, as once you get the key you can pretty much blitz through. But I think the first time round, it was incredible.
Solving the puzzles in this level was really satisfying
Crack in the Slab is actually the only mission in either game that I genuinely dislike. I cannot fathom why GameSpot claims it is the best.
Although i fucked this level up, i thoroughly enjoyed it :)
I fucking hated that mission.
The idea was interesting, but A Crack in the Slab is my least favorite level in D2
