Great Video Matt as usual not sure if you noticed or anyone else but the gentle man you talk to when he introduces himself he says his name Paul later when you say you forgot his name he says he name is John
@@DJ-Brownie-UK Nah, Matt forgot his name and the guy was too modest to correct him lol. But it goes to show they are not as 'secret' as we like to think. That guy was willing to chat, he just seemed a bit camera shy. Also looked like a group chat could have happened when everyone gathered around, that would have been interesting. It's a small local lodge, I think Matt, since he's local too, should have took down some names and stopped back one day to ask some more questions. They invite people in all the time who want to 'join'.
I was asked to join another secretive organisation once (only because I’d have to be initiated to be in the function room I let them use and they were tired of having to walk out to the main bar to get their drinks!) But it got me thinking about the masons and the masons I knew and they seemed like regular chaps, good people. When I started looking into it, it is basically a charitable institution- or as you said, benevolent might be a better word; seems the nepotism associated with its members might be viewed as wrong, but then let’s face it, we’re all jealous of those who benefit at our expense and most of us, if honest, would take an offered opportunity if it benefitted us. Just human nature. On the face of it their intentions seem to outweigh the negative connotations, but it just seems like a bit of a ball ache to get initiated.
@@SteeleJackOutdoors I sent an inquiry to the Masons when I was 18 years old in 2008. They sent me back a hand letter from my local lodge, in a blue envelope, with the gold G logo and a wax seal. Very official lol, like what you expect from 'a secret organization' like the Masons lol. Basically said 'they can't tell me much' but they "Do good things for people." then gave me a bunch of examples of that, and if I want to join all I need is 3 references from other Masons, that if didn't have them, it's ok, that I'm invited to the lodge and they will get them for me. I always respected them because someone took the time out of their day, to write me a long letter, not some copy/paste crap, a personal letter and sent me brochures explaining more about the Masons, telling me what they could tell me and taking me seriously. I did the same when I inquired, so maybe that helped idk. My dad found that letter and threw it away a few days later. He was creeped out by it or something. I mean, I was a little too, It's The Freemasons for god sakes lmao, it was a little creepy to actually get a response. What they didn't tell you is the welcome handshake and free look around was the pre-initiation ceremony, you are now a provisional member (a bit like a learner driver) and you must now endure several rites of passage and various strange rituals.......😲😳 Such as entering the lodge blindfolded and your bare breasts exposed to verify you're not a woman. Your left pant leg must be rolled up to check you are healthy and strong and you must be wearing your ceremonial apron, gavel and square. I've seen older members get the new 'initiates' to pat their heads, rub their tummies, while balancing on one leg and hopping but this is optional....😳😲😁 I won't mention 'riding the goat...' 😲😳⚠️🤔 Oddly many police officers are also freemasons.....

I think it has something to do with the Sun (God, Ra) rising in the East and setting in the West. As if it's implying 'this compass points towards god', showing the people following the angels East, up Jacob's Ladder towards god/heaven. I believe the Freemasons had something to do with the 'free masons' who built the pyramids of Egypt. Proven in ancient text from the tombs of the builders, those stone masons were not slaves but people who migrated there for work and built the pyramids with a very strong religious motivation behind it, basically saying they 'came to build for god'. They created wonders of the world with excellent quality and precision, beautiful architecture 'in the name god' as did the Freemasons who built sacred places like churches or government buildings, for example. Obviously the Egyptians were respected for 1000s of years for what they learned and achieved. In my opinion, the ancient religion of Egypt is what gave birth to monotheism as we know it, it literally gave birth to Judaism, which split into Christianity, and then split into Islam. But they all technically worship the same god, the same god from the same place, Ancient Egypt, when the pharaoh Akhenaten made the sun god Ra 'the one and only god' in 1350 B.C., when Egypt left polytheism for the first time and monotheism was new to the world. So it's no wonder Ancient Egypt is so important to Freemasons, a Christian/Catholic based organization. So with this all in mind, I would say freemasons are supposed to be people who 'build/do things for god', from a structure to an an entire country and everything in between.
