It's weird how film, even home video has a language. There's a camera turn that's literally just a guy admiring his visibly content and happy wife. It's just so wonderfully wholesome it's the best part of the whole video.

This was my favorite ride at Storyland. I shed a tear when the ride closed.

So great that folks have these videos to share! So many great memories. I worked at Story Land from 1983-1993 and worked at the Voyage to the Moon in 1985 and 1986. I was also part of a small crew that came in every weekend during the winter to shovel all the way around the dome! A truly special place to work.

This came up in my reccomendations! hahah great video! I'm glad that other people have footage of Voyage To The Moon. That's so awesome that you have footage of the actual loading process 👍 I wish that I had footage of that. And thank you for the plug in your description! You didn't have to do that. This is a great POV! Excellent footage.

I went to Story Land as a very young child and the only strong memory I have of it is seeing this ride from outside and my imagination running absolutely wild with what it was, and I never got to ride; thank you for this video! My curiosity has finally been satisfied

Thanks for sharing this! I was around 5 when this video was taken- around the time I started to go to Storyland. This ride TERRIFIED me as a child 😂 I think I spent nearly the whole ride every time with my eyes closed. Cool to see it now as an adult!

@@madseason330 yes in August of 88. I was literally scanning your videos to see if by some remote chance I’d spot myself! My parents had a house in Jackson they bought when I was 4/5- and we would go to Storyland frequently all summer.

OMG! OMG! OMG! This ride! But too bad I never got to experience this ride in person because I was born 7 years after the ride closed. (I was born in 2005). But the ride seems so cool because I feel like I actually have been on the ride in person when I watch videos of on-ride views.

I haven't been on this before because I wasn't alive back then, but I wish they still had this because I love these dark rides. The Ice Cream Cone Pixieland Band is my favorite music piece in this video. I could see though that the reason they closed this was because of the way it was designed. Basically the Golden Bullets would all be pushed by the employees so there was only a system that turned on the chain as well as the animatronics and lighting effects inside. It's weird than the House of Horrors at the old Rocky Point park in Warwick that only chains were used on the hills. I guess since the ride track is a little elevated and there isn't 2 levels, there is a chain. If I brought this back to life, the first thing I would do is make a dark ride track that is more run on electricity and magnets and not rattling chains.

My only two complaints about that ride would be that they should’ve made that cloud more kid- friendly or cartoonish looking and I think the ride overall should’ve been much longer. It kind of felt like you didn’t have enough time to really soak everything in and enjoy everything and then it suddenly ended!

Hey! I'm planning on remaking my Voyage To The Moon video to be released in time for Story Land's 70th birthday in June. Would you mind if I incorporated some of your footage into the video (especially the footage of the loading area)? I will give you credit in the video, as well as in the description. Please let me know, thanks.

I've always wanted to know who these characters were created by or who drew/animated the journey back at 4:18. There needs to be a book or documentary about this place it's too sacred to be forgotten!
