Henna, I like your rational for the niche price vs luxury designer prices that we are seeing now. If it brings you value and makes you happy, that's all that needs to be said.
I do have a sample of Gilded, and I'm still testing it. Funny story, It was December when I first received and tried it. It was a cold day, and my first reaction for me was like I was staring directly at the sun. A very bright sensation, like biting into a lemon. I decided to wait until the weather was warmer to try it again, and it was a much different experience for me. Spicy incense that became sweeter in the downdown (myrrh?) I do enjoy it, but I'm still getting to understand this one. Thanks for the review.
