LRS CCC Heil Rear Loader Garbage Truck on a Former Roy Strom Route

Here is one of LRS’s handful of CCC Heil rear loaders starting its second load on a rainy day last October. When LRS acquired Roy Strom, they transferred a lot of trucks to Strom’s old site in Maywood, with this being one of them. This driver however used to be at Strom and was one of the swing guys in all the manual contracts, so he would go all over during the week. Since then he’s gotten a Curotto route with a brand new truck, but on this particular day he was assigned to this truck on a former Roy Strom route. This was recorded before LRS won the contract for Oak Park, and this truck wasn’t really assigned to a particular route but it now does yard waste there during the warmer months, and then is used as a spare during the winter.
This contract only requires the collection of trash in alleys and curbside yard waste, while recycling is accepted at a drop off site with two recycling rolloffs. As you can see, trash is extremely heavy and as a result most guys get 2 loads, or possibly even 3 if there's a two man crew. The pouring rain really made the color pop on this one which I’m pretty happy about, and this truck didn’t sound half bad so all in all I think this one was pretty entertaining.
