A big selling point of the 1020 is its lossless digital zoom. It can't zoom as far as the GS4 Zoom, but it maintains a constant f/2.2 throughout. I'm interested in both phones, but the lack of apps on WP8 is disconcerting.

Because you can't record a circle image, the resulting circle image is cropped - in widescreen mode, you see 38 megapixels, if you'r shooting in 4:3 ("square") aspect ratio, you see a different 38 megapixels.
Someone should just make a case with a camera like this one that attaches to the galaxy S4 just like a case and connect using microUSB port and an advanced camera app to show S4 users some love

@tromain27, the Nokia 1020 much like the 808 pureview takes up to 41 megapixel pics but the default is set at 8mp, it uses a technique called over sampling so that when you zoom into the pic your zooming into very small pixels crammed together for the clear zoom shots. I've had the 808 and my only let down was the OS.

You clearly know nothing about photography, When did you ever see a photographer use a zoom lens for a photoshoot? You don't. But what you do notice is his huge 18-24mp sensor. You can crop a picture if you need to. Zoom isn't needed for most things... The alternative is your feet... Move them
After the launch of 1020, I think the thickness of S4 Zoom lens become funny. Digital Zoom is really great. For a camera phone, of course. I didn't see any special thing in S4 Zoom as a better camera than a camera phone, though...
Hopefully getting this phone for £75 on Tuesday :) I don't like the weight of the phone, but I like how from one side it looks like a camera and the other side it looks like a phone. I had the original S4 and I miss the SlowMo video this will be my main phone and my spare phone will be a LG L40 Both these phones have gorilla glass which is awesome :)
You do lose quality, but when you have 38 Megapixels to start with...you still end up with a decent resolution image. That said, It's a killer device with software that is a let down due to a lack of apps.

This is a funky looking phone with that camera. Just get the original S4 or at least the S4 Active. Samsung is just pushing it with this device.
