*oh* _honey_ 🤭😬.. former competition cheerleader here, you don’t have to get in the shower and risk matting or rip your hair like that. Oil? But I'm black and we have different textures. But a little on the fingers that will be working on the hair can help to loosen the gel or hair spray or the gorilla glue (iykyk) to make it easier to work with.
I believe she should have waited like she said take a shower cuz it'll melt some of that get all that that residue from that stuff off of her head or just wear it cuz it don't look like you need to be taken down
I sometimes use baby oil and Vaseline on myself and children they get so irritated I'm like you'll thank me later when you're hair is healthier and not dry breaking off l, she should totally use some baby oil or something she's damaging her hair right? 😅

My moms my ride or die and I am hers, The closest person that I have and that I respect the most and vice versa. We all express things differently, chill everyone. Now bout that shower though, somebody gotta explain the science behind her almost losing it at the mere suggestion of a shower 😂

First, we were playing and my mom was calling out social media comments and I was responding back. We thought we were hilarious but this is an hour exchange cut to 1 minute. I do shower! That is how i get it all out 💖 but first There are pins and a rubber band buried in it so I have to get those out.
@@makayla._.andrews very commendable of you to try to the more politer messages, that makes sense. I wonder if you had tried to loosen your hair with water first, perhaps the pins would have slid out? Rubber bands and hair ties can be annoying at the best of times!😂
My god daughter does ballroom dance, and when we're taking her hair down, i make a HUGE bin of warm, almost hot water and mix in a bunch of conditioner, and we soak her hair in it, every 5-7 minutes picking sections apart with a chopstick. I know it sounds weird but it might help you avoid this headache ❤
@makayla._.andrews I found it really helps separate "crunchy" braids and twists! Also, whoever did those finger waves in your hair did a phenomenal job! I've done hair and makeup for almost 18 years now and I am A W F U L at finger waves🤣🤣 Hope the warm water/conditioner/ chopsticks method helps!!🩷🖤
I wonder if a little Goop would help to? That stuff is cheap, leaves your hands soft, and is great for grease and other stuff too. I use it in my washer for stains sometimes. It was developed for mechanics to get stuff off their hands Test a section, might be something that could help
@taurusrae7630 THAT is a really interesting idea! I'll try to track some down, and give it a whirl. It certainly may help Makayla too. Thank you for the suggestion ☺️
@JennaLeigh Hopefully, it does. At the worst time, it should only dry the hair a little. Let me know if it does! I don't use products on my hair usually, but I know the dancers can't have a single hair out of place, and it takes hours to do up and hours to take down. If it helps, then god speed!
Her mother went down the list of rational options! A shower, some scissors to cut the hairtie... i mean the next option was to get a razor and just reset the whole scalp😂
I've stood under a hot shower getting all that stuff out of my hair before and its a tone easier than doing it dry. Also, I recommend getting a seam ripper for those hard rubber bands.
Even better than just a shower is if you have a bathtub let the bus fill up with some nice warm water and let your hair soaking it. It’ll soften up so much more quickly and you can even use a little more conditioner if you need to get it out quicker.
@makayla._.andrews 1. Comb it out with very wide tooth comb 2. Baby Powder or Cornstartch 3. Apple Cider Vinager 4. Oil 5. Dry Shampoo 6. Blowdry 7. Baking Soda 8. Paper Towel 9. Plain Water everyone’s hair is different and so it may take a few tries to find what works best for you.

*oh* _honey_ 🤭😬.. former competition cheerleader here, you don’t have to get in the shower and risk matting or rip your hair like that. Just a spray bottle of a good detangler(i liked moroccan oil’s detangler), and i liked to mix mine with a watered down hair mask so it was even more concentrated, spray thoroughly everywhere, then put your hair into a shower cap. Let this sit for about a half hour, watch a show or scroll on the phone, and it will be so much easier and less painful.. 🙃no gatekeepin😉, hope this helps! (the finger wave is stunning btw).
Thank you 🙏
Why no shower? (Curious)

@@monstercoward5216 a shower doesn’t break rip or cause matting to your hair. This must be her personal experience. With the right products n a good temperature of water u should be able to easily remove the gel and detangle. The water will help honestly. From a hairstylist.

Wow that is some really crunchy hair. 😱
It really is!
Oil? But I'm black and we have different textures. But a little on the fingers that will be working on the hair can help to loosen the gel or hair spray or the gorilla glue (iykyk) to make it easier to work with.

Thank you 💖 since you are nice I will explain the shower better. 😂 I can’t with the wet it comments anymore.
Not a flex
My god daughter does ballroom dance, and when we're taking her hair down, i make a HUGE bin of warm, almost hot water and mix in a bunch of conditioner, and we soak her hair in it, every 5-7 minutes picking sections apart with a chopstick. I know it sounds weird but it might help you avoid this headache ❤
Chopsticks. I never heard of that but I love it. Got to try it.
It was developed for mechanics to get stuff off their hands
Test a section, might be something that could help
@taurusrae7630 THAT is a really interesting idea! I'll try to track some down, and give it a whirl. It certainly may help Makayla too. Thank you for the suggestion ☺️
@JennaLeigh Hopefully, it does. At the worst time, it should only dry the hair a little. Let me know if it does!
I don't use products on my hair usually, but I know the dancers can't have a single hair out of place, and it takes hours to do up and hours to take down. If it helps, then god speed!
Sounds so crunchy. Thats must be some VERY powerful gel she put on her hair.
Very crunchy 😂
Her mother went down the list of rational options! A shower, some scissors to cut the hairtie... i mean the next option was to get a razor and just reset the whole scalp😂
Yikes last option is extreme.
reset is hilarious 😂
I've stood under a hot shower getting all that stuff out of my hair before and its a tone easier than doing it dry. Also, I recommend getting a seam ripper for those hard rubber bands.
Thanks for the tip 💖

Even better than just a shower is if you have a bathtub let the bus fill up with some nice warm water and let your hair soaking it. It’ll soften up so much more quickly and you can even use a little more conditioner if you need to get it out quicker.
Plus, a bath with some epsom salt would really help your muscles after doing a dance like that

Even I got nervous when she talked to her mother like that. It’s not the use of no, it’s the tone. Ig I just respect my mom, but am also worried about making her upset cause I don’t want her to feel hurt by my words. But her relationship with her mom is likely great from what I can see. Having attempted to shower with my hair up with gel and glue, no, you don’t shower first, you get the hair tie out first. If you don’t, you end up with a ratty knotted mess that results in massive amounts of breakage and potentially can lead to needing to cut the hair tie out.
