    The excavation that is being done by Sri Srinivasa murthy, a retired Bank manager, for the sake of connisuers like us to dive deep and immerse in the ecstatic stream of classical music, from the archives of Balamurali, I feel should be immensely thanked and be grateful forever.🌺🌹🌸🌻💐,

    I love how he starts with Marmamulu. It's a nice little touch that really interacts with the composition.

    I love all the versions of "Manasuloni maramum"one with Msg and MC are simply brilliant but this one is my favourite just hearing to this Swaravinysam I must have tuned this one record for more than 💯 times, what a glory and Vaibhavam of the Hindolam.
    Thanks Srinivasa Murthy for this upload.

      Traditionally, it is believed that the rāga Gundakriya can melt a stone, but the rāga Hindōla may not melt the stone, it melts the heart of those who could listen to it exclusively!

      I was reading an article "Genius with a devil-may-care abandon" by Aarvalan in Bhavan's Journal (Jan 15, 2017). Here the author reminiscences about this concert and here is a short excerpt.
      "Balamurali had built a crescendo of swarās that lasted and lasted and the patterns that were never repeated, like new springs from new wells, bustling with energy and handled with finesse"

    Dear Srinivas Murthy Garu
    On carefully going thru your detailed description of the raga aalapa and the svara prastaraas in the backdrop of the keertan, it resembles more like the Malkauns of Hindustani as rendered by Smt Kishori Amonkar in her devotional mood

    BMK is the first one (and thus far the only one) I've heard sing 'manasulōni marmamulu' ... others I have heard sing 'manasuloni ma'!
    In some circles, i have heard, "manasulōni ma you know how to sing?" :)

    Sir Murthy garu, can you please share me the link to the video that contains detailed alapana for Dhansyasi from Sri BMK? The song was not Sangeetha Gnanamu. It was Bhadrachala Ramadasu Keerthana.
    Much appreciate it

    HindOlam uses Shuddha daivatham. Is this raagam Varam ? Can anybody throw light on this ?

    • @jaibelagur6022
      @jaibelagur6022 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes. It’s Varamu also known as Shudda Hindolam, a janya of Kharaharapriya with Chatushruti Dhaivatham instead of Shuddha Daivatam of Hindola which is Natabhairavi janya. The sancharas ( phrases) are different and consequently the mood they evoke is also substantially different from each other

      Mangalampalli Garu is singing this in Hindolam. MS Amma sings in Varamu.
