The study which stated that Pasig River is the most polluting river in the entire world can easily be falsified. I know Pasig river is not the cleanest but I can personally attest it is not the dirtiest nor the smelliest nor the worst polluter. Go around the globe and see for yourselves. Look at other larger rivers in China, India, South America and even in Indonesia. This study should have been contested for its claims. Nevertheless, I fully support any effort to maintain an ecological balance with people and nature.

the most polluting' is different from 'the dirtiest.' 'The most polluting' refers to Pasig River being a significant source of plastic pollution flowing into the ocean. The Philippines contributes a substantial amount of plastic pollution to the world's oceans because our trash often ends up in the sea through our rivers, unlike landlocked countries. On the other hand, 'the dirtiest' would typically mean the most contaminated or visibly polluted, which may not necessarily be the same as 'the most polluting' in terms of overall environmental impact

The first step to clean up the Pasig River is to relocate the illegal settlers who are staying on the river side. If the government cleans the river before relocating the settlers, the effort will be wasted because the illegal settlers, as always, are throwing their wastes in the river.

I dare any politician to rehabilitate this river. They can’t because it would take decades and an insurmountable amount of finances and loss to the present illegal housing. There’s no discipline and those who dares to strictly impose the right attitude don’t want to be hated.

WORLD's MOST POLLUTING RIVER? ive seen enough rivers that is worse than that. Atleast that river isnt biologically dead and theres a lot of different animals in there, unlike that "sacred" river I saw somewhere where the smell is stinky and dead bodies are being thrown there.

Pasig river cleanup has been ongoing for a decade or two already so bit by bit the govt is is reviving the river to its former glory. Its not the most polluted river in the world, you can look at the main rivers in India they are even more polluted than the Pasig river.

It saddened me that Pasig River is branded as " world's most polluting river" (as your caption indicates). Is this a fact? When it is true that it does received tons of waste throughout its 25 kms. (more or less) entirety, but I believe some world's big rivers that cross into capital cities are even worst. BBC Earth has episode which feature the Ganges River in India. Hope you can see it and compare.

I don’t like going or going to dirty places in the Philippines, and the reasons also are because there are lots of flies and cockroaches in those kinds of areas, and also because that country has lots of pollution, and the Philippine government is not cleaning its country it seems like they don’t care about it, and they don’t kill all the pests insects in its country compared to Russia, other Europe, and other clean countries. There are no pests allowed, and they are probably killed by its country leaders or government like that.

It's so very logical that we have a plastic bag tax and a multitude of other relentless enviromental taxations in Sweden. The argument is that "Sweden are insipring other countries to follow our lead, we act as a roll model, that's why we tax you to oblivion" , meanwhile in Philippines 😂 Enviromental taxation is a big joke, climate change is being used to pass any new taxations that they otherwises couldn't find a way to justify.
