I've been hunting for 100% cotton sweaters (stupid allergies make it difficult to wear anything else) at the thrift stores. I've also been making headbands to coordinate with my sweaters.
Lorna Doone is who I named my daughter for. And there's a HORRIBLE ballad telling the story of Lorna Doone at the end of Argosy Junction. LOVE your sweater. I think I have that edition of Julie. I feel like I should send it. LOL. I have that copy of Sherlock Holmes! I love your autumnal theme! Excellent! WHOA... that Lorna Doone! EEEP! I need to visit and go get that. Wait... that could make the price kind of ridiculous. Oh, and I need that green typewriter!
A Man Called Peter is soooo good! His wife, Catherine, wrote it after he died, and included quite a few of his sermons, which are terrific. It's also a movie!
That rust coloured sweater looks so good! When I go thrifting I usually focus on books, art, and maybe some clothing occasionally. But, you’re right, the prices of clothes are getting crazy and I don’t often have the time to spend really digging for the deals. Glad you’re feeling better!
I love the sweaters you bought - they are basically exactly what I'm always on the lookout for (but can never seem to find!). I also felt really old when I saw that Sears catalogue that dates from when I was a teenager. I totally remember those... and now apparently they're antiques! LOL 🙂
Oooooh all those sweaters are so you!!! Nice finds!!!♥️ My black Friday list is a coffee machine cuz some friends have this certain one that live beside you...😂 And a cricut maker 3...we shall see 😆
Haha, you've been influenced by the coffee addicts!!! The fish pills are huge but they aren't bad except for when they turn sideways, that's not so fun.
Ooh, I loved the music note mug! Most of the time when I go thrift store shopping, I don't have anything particular in mind. I'll look at the books and then just browse and see what's there, though I rarely buy anything. It always seems like it's stuff I don't need or it's way too expensive (especially considering it's used).
I have my grandmother's set of Catherine Marshall books exactly like those three in a box. I have only read Christy, twice. Need to read the others. Love Edith Wharton. Sweater looks great!
Washable rugs are tricky to find but it's worth checking labels wherever you would usually look. I got the "Tiphede" rug from Ikea for £10 (I'm in the UK) and its' 100% cotton and machine washable. It's not the prettiest but I'm using it a placeholder for now until I can afford/want to spend more on a nicer one.
Thanksgiving is the 4th Thursday in November. It is late this year! I always hate it when it's this late because there is very little time between Thanksgiving and Christmas. If you aren't able to tolerate white milk, you could look into raw milk and see if you are able to get that. A lot of people that have dairy/lactose issues don't have any problems with raw milk and there are a lot of health benefits. May be better than oat milk? Tumble is also a washable rug and cheaper than ruggable at times. It washes really well.
I grew up on a dairy farm drinking raw milk, it definitely does not work well with my stomach! But I have heard a lot of people can handle it. Unfortunately Tumble doesn't ship to Canada, maybe one day!
@@ChantelKlassen awe man! I think there is also another washable rug company but I can't remember what it's called. Hope you find some great deals on Black Friday! I'm behind on getting my list ready!
Can you do a video on your deco ideas for your room , things you maybe looking for in the op shop. Whats the plans with the photographs they are so cool.
Yeah, I can share some ideas! For the pictures my daughter wanted them for writing inspiration, I may use them in the background of some of my Bookstagram photos.
Definitely Body Shop sales! I just came in from buying Coconut body butter and everything in the store was 30% off and I couldn't figure out why but maybe it's a Black Friday early thing. I was worried that they might be closing more stores or something which would be a disaster.
I’m so glad your headaches have been going away with those changes 🙏 I’ve had some really weird health stuff myself this year. Going to need to be proactive and do more research. Going to the doctor is something I really hate doing 😂🤦🏼♀️ so sadly it can be a last resort for me…. 😭 I know it shouldn’t but it can be a disheartening experience at times.
I’m so glad you found the Catherine Marshall books! A Man Called Peter is the biography of her husband who immigrated from Scotland to the U.S. and ultimately became chaplain of the U.S. Senate. Read that first and then To Live Again. Christy is fiction based on Catherine’s mother’s story, I believe.
My parents actually own an Antique Store and it is hard to not want all the things 😂 I have gotten some of my older classic books from them though because I can't pass those up.
You found some great treasures this week! As far as Black Friday goes, I always think I should keep a list and never get around to it…maybe next year. This time all I’m looking for is a freezer.

Ugh, sorry about the allergies, that's no fun. But coordinating headbands sound great!

Oh and yay for massive pills that help those headaches....maybe I should take more. I found them so huge that taking 3 seemed monumental! 😂
Haha, you've been influenced by the coffee addicts!!! The fish pills are huge but they aren't bad except for when they turn sideways, that's not so fun.
An upright freezer is on my black Friday list too! My next thrifting/antiquing run will include old CorningWare, books, games, and craft items.
That charcoal sweater looks so cozy!
Wow, that old copy of Lorna Doone!! 😍. Love that book
It was a beautiful copy!

Yeah, some of the prices I just can't justify.

Oh I love that you have your grandmother's set! 💕
We’ve just found a great homeschool sports league as well!! 👏🏼🥰
Fun!

@@ChantelKlassen I also got that game on steam for my daughter, maybe a video on games you recommend?
I’m on the West Coast of the USA and I noticed our Thanksgiving is crazy late this year too! 😂
Definitely Body Shop sales! I just came in from buying Coconut body butter and everything in the store was 30% off and I couldn't figure out why but maybe it's a Black Friday early thing. I was worried that they might be closing more stores or something which would be a disaster.
They better not close more stores, I honestly don't understand why Bath and Body Works is so popular, I think The Body Shop is so much better.

Weird health stuff is not fun, praying you get some answers!

Thanks for that info, I'll make sure to read them in that order.
I love your sweater finds!!! 😍
😊 Me too!
It is so sad to my heart that those photos aren't with their families..but it's sweet that they live on?
I love to go thrifting.
It's so much fun!

I wish I could have waited for a freezer but our meat is coming this weekend so we needed to buy one earlier than expected!
you have me interested in the Kobo Libra Color! But 3 eReaders is too many, right? My older Kobo has a tiny screen :D
Is it too many though???
The Libra has the buttons!!! It’s ALL about the buttons!
@@pjlacey3990 I saw that! I had one of the first Kindles that still had buttons, I miss it!
