Joey is amazing but I much prefer brooks for Avenged Sevenfold, I think brooks has way better groove and feel that suits Avenged and I think he is a more creative and musical songwriter(even though Joey is an awesome writer as well)

I mean yeah, but if The Rev was still alive he would've been even better than he was before. So he would've definitely destroyed Brooks. Think about it, Jimmy died at 29, Brooks is 42 now so..... :[

Hikaeme4022 yeah that’s very true. Brooks has upwards of 15 years on Jimmy when he passed away. Brooks is a better drummer but you can’t even imagine how much Jimmy would’ve improved over the years.

now the best drummer in metal is jay weinberg from slipknot, lates was vinnie paul and joey jordison but....not active or good anymore so....oh and dave lombardo and lars are cool too but isnt the same energy than weinberg

Honestly, the only thing you see of weinberg is fast and somewhat heavy, but in live shows his playing gets sloppy especially with the pedals. Brooks has said itself that he enjoys every type of drumming, and if he were to slap on some triggers on the bass drum, he could easily be in a Death metal band... and then there's his techical prowess as well that exceeds the majority of modern drummers today.
