This song reminds me of a fever dream I had where there was a part of my high school closed off permanently (it wasn’t really explained why it was closed) and I snuck in there one night by myself and met this talking panda who told me that this closed off hallway was a place where the living communed with the dead. He warned me that I could never tell anyone about this place. I talked to him for a bit and then left. I came back the next night to talk to him again, and I repeated this over and over, coming back each night to talk to him. He seemed lonely so I felt the need to keep returning. Eventually we became friends and he told me that there was a dark spirit lurking deeper within the closed off hallway. Supposedly, if I ever saw him he’d try to trick me into signing a one sided contract. The panda told me that if he ever tapped me on the shoulder three times that I needed to run away as fast as I could. He also warned against coming to the hallway anymore. So for a while I didn’t visit him but I found myself having a hard time not telling other people at my school about the hallway. Eventually I told one of my good friends about it and instantly a giant army of demons descended upon the world, throwing the entire planet into a war for survival with them. Me and my high school friends were drafted into the army to fight against the demons. This part is a little hazy but I remember all of us traveling on a school bus with full army gear and then I remember a part where we were hiding out at my house from the demons and for some reason my house was way bigger than it actually is and so we had like 30 people camping out in there. I was looking out the back porch window when I saw I giant demon bear fighting some wolves in the back yard. I ran around the house warning everyone about the threat. For some weird reason Toph from Avatar was part of the army and she stomped out to the porch with me and upon seeing no bear in the backyard, called me a liar and told everyone I was full of it (keep in mind she is blind). So since everyone else took her word for it, the bear broke into the house and killed like half of our forces (toph included). There was a lot of sequences of me and people I know in real life fighting various demons around the area where I live but I can’t really remember them that distinctly. Eventually, I returned to the school and went to the hallway to talk to the panda. When I entered the hallway, the panda was not alone. He was joined by an old man shrouded in shadows. The old man asked me my name along with various other personal questions. As I was speaking with him, the panda tapped me three times on the shoulder. I tried to run away but the door to the hallway closed before I could escape. The old man sat me down and forced me to listen to what he had to say. He offered me a deal to end the war between the demons and humanity. The terms were simple, the demons and humans would both assemble a 53 man roster of football players and there would be a showdown between the human and demon team taking place on our high school football field. The panda warned me not to take the deal, but I was confident in my football capabilities. I signed a lengthy written contract and the old man went off to assemble his team. In the mean time, I had to assemble one of my own. Fearing that I would get the entirety of humanity killed, the panda offered to help me. He wasn’t going to help assemble the team with me though, instead he used his spiritual powers to summon forth another spirit from the hallway. Stepping forth from the shadows was my high school varsity football coach who had recently passed away from cancer. The panda had used both his own powers and the powers of the hallway to bring back my coach so that he could help me with this monumental task. It was only temporary, lasting until the game’s conclusion, but I was just happy to see my coach again. The three of us sat down and devised a list of the greatest football players we could think of. It was basically just a bunch of NFL legends. Eventually the time for the game was upon us and we had our teams ready. The demons possessed inhuman strength and athleticism but with the help of the panda’s spiritual powers we had managed to return all of the NFL legends on our team back to their prime. Our players had better knowledge of the game and more experience playing. It would be a battle of raw athleticism versus experience and intellect. Me, my coach, and the panda watched from the sidelines as the teams clashed. It was back and forth, down to the wire. Over time, I began to realize why the panda had warned me against taking this deal. The refs were clearly against us. Every call was going in favor of the demons. Despite this, we were tied up going into the final minutes of the fourth quarter. This was when some foul play came from the demons. One of them blatantly attacked Ray Lewis, leaving him injured to the point where he had to be carted off the field. The refs ignored it. We sent in our next middle line backer on the roster but the trend continued. Each middle line backer was immediately sent to the sidelines with a grievous injury. It got to the point where we had no more players left to send in. We even tried sending some out of position players like Lawrence Taylor to Middle linebacker but it made no difference. Everyone was being sent to the sideline with an injury. After a while my coach decided we had only one option left. I had to suit up and get in there at middle line backer. I nervously entered the field, preparing myself for yet another attack from one of the demon players. At first I was scared but after I began to look at the demons I calmed down. I needed to take them down no matter the cost. As the whistle blew and the ball was snapped I eyed up the QB and found exactly who he was targeting. I intercepted the ball and carried it all the way to the end zone. We had won the game, and thus we had saved humanity. Or so we thought. The old man wasn’t happy with the outcome and forced a double or nothing clause from the contract I had signed. The contract stipulated that under the circumstances that the demon team loses a second competition would be held. This one had nothing to do with football. Instead, it was basically just Fortnite. With the high school and all of its property as the stage, 50 of humanity’s greatest warriors and 50 of the demons greatest warriors would be dropped into combat via parachute and whichever team prevailed would determine the true outcome of the conflict between humans and demons. The with the football part over, I had to say goodbye to my coach as he was sent back to the afterlife. From there, it was time to lock in 😈😈. 50 of humanity’s best warriors had been selected by me and the panda. For some reason, I was among the 50 for humanity. While I’m pretty average in real life, I have to say that I have mastered the art of dream fighting. I can pretty much defy the laws of physics at any given moment by summoning super powers and shit. So with the teams assembled, we dropped in from large cargo planes and landed, ready for combat. It was as we dropped that my alarm went off and I had to get up for work. Truly I don’t think there is any other dream I wanted to see the conclusion to more than this one.
