  • It was in the Era of the then proposed Great Whale Hydro Electric Project when this video was made, in the early 1990's. Listen and see what was being in the minds of those who would have been directly impacted. Some of the people in this video have left us now... until next time.

I feel so Sorry for the loss of your old ways. Although I'm not living up there I feel for you that there are those that think they have say on the planet earth without regard for the wildlife and peoples of that land. I grew up on a Ranch on Montana and loved doing all the outdoor activities. Raising Cattle, Hunting predators, Harvesting winter meets...meat and fish... to help my family feed my family all while keeping the earth as natural as possible. I have a slight understanding of your plight as when my father had to sell they turned our land into condominiums, golf courses, time-shares and townhouses. They utterly and completely destroyed our land with the only intent to make money. Money is the root of evil and destroying land for that purpose is even worse of a sin and as evil a murder of a sort on all mankind. Despicable and selfish just doesn't even describe how terrible their actions are to more than a few. They don't see or feel for the land in the way we do.
However, I have to also feel a little sorry for them because I know they will pay in the end for their total disregard for our planet and land God set here for us to enjoy and live from.
People like that have no appreciation for the land...only money and destruction in the name of progress...I call HOOEY on that and sickened by their greedy needs above our history of our ways and planet.
It makes me so furious that politicians and big business are making money or destroying such a large area of out planet and do not care for the results it has on the area.
I really do feel badly for your people and the earth that sustained you for hundreds of years only to have it selfishly taken away like that.

Since the 1980s??? U think they should still have money from the 80s?? Really??🤯
It evidently wasn't used for housing...they'd have houses to live in of so. Officials can BE QUITE corrupt! It wouldnt.surprise me to learn that money had been pocketed (I'm not saying I know it was, I'm just saying I've heard officials being very corrupt, n these folks have no homes to raise their families in obviously) I feel they've given enough! They need to be cared for...n idc how much money they ever had! Help the needy! PERIOD!

Imagine one million Canadian aboriginals working with a salary of 20,000 grand. That's 20 billion. 75 million is nothing. It only gives summer jobs and food. That's where all the money went and was used for, jobs, houses, maintaining houses, food, plane freight/delivery (we don't have highways). And it's four times expensive up here. Just think of it almost like a business. It's just business. That's why we get supported and we're land owners. They make deals and we make deals. I'm an aboriginal who lives in a remote community in the north. Maybe try making your own business and make money like the "crees". That's my insight. I don't care if you learn fu*k all.

@@devooski4751you are not any different than the ones that live in the United States you guys get everything handed to you for nothing and you have casinos and yet you cry and whine you accepted the money and everything else that you were given for free what did you give the ones before you? That you took the land from and drove out? I'm willing to wager nothing.dregs living off the government and the taxpayers

Wish I could of grew up learning all of my ancestors teachings. I'm cree but I'm not full blood or half blood. I'm mixed with Italian, cajun and alot of other peoples from around the world. When I was in the United States army my dr did a blood test on me he told me I was indigenous, then he told me you don't want to be indigenous you want to be white in this country. That shit pissed me off. My grandfather is a Primeaux cree. You would think I blend in because my skin color, they see right through it I've dealt with the racism and fighting most of my life. Just really tired of all of it. I'm sorry yall had to go through this it's messed up it pisses me off. One thing the whites and other peoples don't realize is that they are putting a very bad curse upon themselves. Their evils are going to come back on them a million fold.
