Sure! First2Wurst is the community-held tournament for the Take & Hold game mode in H3VR. This is the third year for it, and it has changed slightly each year, but it boils down to a double-elimination tournament for whoever gets the highest score in each bracket/phase. Scoring is based on the "base" score (what you earn in your Take & Hold run) multiplied by your difficulty options (a mix of standard or one-hit health + infinite or limited ammo) to get your final score. I *think* that Standard health + limited ammo is the lowest multiplier, but I do know that One-hit + Spawnlocked (infinite ammo) is the highest multiplier. This is due to the amount of enemies you have to face (limited ammo has much lower enemy counts and ends up being easier) You score in Take & Hold by completing the node waves a quickly as possible, getting kills during the hold phases, plus some odds and ends like spending your tokens. All of this mixes in with tons of different playstyles and strategies to see who is the on-the-spot best at Take & Hold!
@@craig2196 the amount of enemies is much lower. Some characters it is harder (calico) but with the high mag capacity of Ori and the mag upgrade stations, it really is trivial
With AP incen in my AR, I can win the sosig fight. The most I'm going to get out of the 12 point is a drum magazine that I could have rolled for anyways, or the mini gun which wouldn't help me in node clearing. Going with the shields let's me focus on the nodes for a better score when the time comes.
6 point BR pool is garbage - M1A most of the time. I think you can get a 10 round FAL too, so that isn't as bad with the new mag upgrade stations. Just more variety in 6 point AR.

Wow getting the powerup weenies instead of a 12-point minigun. here's to boosted starter loadouts! Also I fixed up some tracking issues and squeezed out some more fps from my laptop. ran relatively smoothly for my second ever game of T&H, and i scored a 65k. thanks for inspiring me to get back into VR!
Everytime I see a run I want to play H3VR again. It made me fall in love with the game all over again to see the amount of potential it has when you're so much more experienced with the controls, the guns, the aiming. Nice. Love the H3VR content. Subbed.
You dont, I dont think. I think the Quest 2 might be generating more heat than other headsets considering how underpowered it is for playing PCVR and VR in general.

Practice Operator Ori Standard Health Spawnlock runs! And pick the seeds one at a time to get used to them. They love forcing people into the hard seeds like 5.
I am capturing using the OpenVR plugin source for OBS. You can also flip your wrist over, look for the Spectator Panel and hit the Right Eye option (you might need to switch the output to HD spectator too
Hi Jedi ! I got a quick question for you what program do you use to be able to record from one of your Valve Index Camera cause when im trying to use OBS default video capture it capture from both camera and it has a black surrounding it is not only a sharp circle like yours
Hello! That is happening on mine, but I am cropping the output (hold alt while dragging the edges of the output) and then I have a mask that I apply to get rid of the black square part. After I am done with work, I can share the mask with you, if you'd like.

I did my highest scoring run today, but I died on final hold. I had 133k score, and before that, I had 86k working my way up, but I get pretty overwhelmed at the 4th to 5th hold and can get swarmed, especially when Im struggling to reload.
There are a few different powerups. The shield ones I grabbed make me invulnerable. There is infinite ammo ones, bullet and melee power boosts, invisibility, and some goofy ones like cyclops that turns you into Cyclops from xmen lol
Was internally screaming when you didn't at least try for a new SMG. Best case you could have rolled away the spare 1911 and that piece of crap and make it with only a 1 point loss
It's very character and setting dependent. On something like Beginner Blake or Ricky Dicky Random, it's pretty relaxed. But on characters like Cowweiner Calico or Welldone Freemeat it gets very intense.
Nope! I believe there is some pre-determined randomness to when the nodes will spawn, but they are pretty much set in stone. A few waves do happen quickly though (hold 3 and 4 wave 1 come to mind)
I would like to ask, would you happen to have a video guiding how to record H3VR gameplay? If not, then I can probably find another tutorial elsewhere, but I do still have one other question. I've recently started using H3 mods as of a week or two ago and I've noticed gameplay for me has lagged, gotten close to crashing, and actually crashed multiple times. Do you have a suggested way to lower H3 lag or a maximum number of mods you try to stay below? Thank you in advance.
For recording, there isn't too much that you need. OBS to capture the game. And you can capture either the Desktop render or direct from the headset via the OpenVR plugin. I'll see about doing a video to help out. For the lag, that is just kind what happens with mods. One thing that can help is more RAM, because a lot of that has to get loaded on top of the game. If you don't have a lot of extra it can bog you down quickly. Mods like MODUL also kill the frames no matter whats due to their use of the attachment system, very CPU heavy. Hope some of this helps!

The funny thing with the AK5 is that it actually has a bolt release but you actually need to tap it to drop it. It doesn't have a button for it.

So do you guys get to pick your own difficulty modifiers to gamble dying vs the bonus, or are you all on the same settings?
We can each pick our own, but generally there is a gentleman's agreement where both contestants run the same settings.

There are 5 holds with 3 waves of nodes each, if that is what you mean. There is also a version with 3 holds and one with infinite holds.

How intense is Take and Hold?
Yes.
Depends on your taste for vr shooting. It makes me sweat but I can do it for a few hours at a time.
If you turn the AI down and give yourself a boat load more hp its not bad. If you do one hit with everything turned up its much more intense.
