I love this show. You always show the authentic Indian tribal culture to others like us. We are indebted to the tribals for taking care of our natural environment.
Sir.i salute you for the hard work climbing the hills and highlighted the customs and tradition of our kalahandia people.really enjoyable .praiseworthy yaar.
How long these people survive following and articulating their tradition and culture completely harmonising with nature against harsh and cruel realities , who can say! The presenters to this post deserve to be thankful for making unknown to known to the world.
Really Rich heritage, Rich people with a rich heart , proud of being a tribe. Priceless Video. God bless me to become an IAS officer and send me there to provide benefits to my community. Love this video.
These people are the true Indians.Look how close they are with mother nature, and how well they are protecting nature. I am from Bengal and I salute these people, real heroes. They should be protected.
The comments here show that the new generation have woken up and appreciate these ancient cultures and keen for them to preserve their cultures. Nice to see. The previous generation have always been hell bent on westernizing every village on earth, in doing so many countries have almost lost their heritage and true human spirit.
Simple people performing their traditional simplicity and we are all praising them because our deep inside nature like only which match the outside environment -- the real home coming of our nature is our unsought. Compelling urge. Extremely wonderful!
Beautiful documentary. An eye opener. It is the responsibility of every government and every citizen to protect these beautiful tribes and they have every right to live in their own ways, like any other citizen. Please make more such documentaries, to let the people understand and appreciate these communities and the wonderful nature around them. If given an opportunity, I would like to become a tribal man myself and live among them. Thanks a lot. Srinivas. Florida, USA.
Brother, let them live the way their ancestors had lived from time immemorial with their natural joy and sorrow. They are the true representatives of an ancient civilization long forgotten. Don't let them turned to be specimens in a zoo. Also make every effort to protect them from the unwanted glare of NGOs, Churches and pseudo sympathizers.
The visit time is preferably the last week of February , last friday saturday and sunday, which has been fixed for the convenience for all , their annual Mountain Worship Festival (dongar = mountain, pooja =worship, parab = festival)
These cuckoos sang for thousands of years. They were here before any Odias arrived. They were here before any Telugus arrived. They were here before any British arrived. They were here before any Maoists arrived. They were here before any CAPF arrived. They were here thousands of years before any civilization made contact. They tilled this land, drank this water, breathed this air for thousands of years. Every leaf in the forest is their friend. Every drop in the river will tell their tale. The gentle cool breeze murmured their song like a mother singing a lullaby to her baby. And all this time, the cuckoos sang ...... Why is the Cuckoo silent now ??!!
Were those guys in military uniforms govt soldiers?? If they were, they made no effort to greet these folks or initiate any communications. And is it just me, or did the villagers seem like totally scared of them. Ayways, thanks for this small window into the lives of these marginal folks...the Original Peoples of this country.
It is disturbing to see the armed forces penetrating right into the spaces of the native Adivasi tribes, making them feel so uncomfortable that they stop singing altogether. Of course, the state claims that the forces are there to fight the Maoists. Nobody knows how the state identifies the Maoists, but it is absolutely clear that the Adivasis look upon the state forces as an alien occupation army. Also their resentment is spontaneous, they have not been tutored by any external agent.
I have few questions since I love going such places. I do rides. So here are my questions..How did you reach those places ? Can I ride bike to these villages ? Are Naxals still active there up to date ? By the way I am saving this documentary in my hard disk.
