I give respect to everyone that made this idea work by putting an exhibition race inside the LA coliseum, I'm really sure people are going to enjoy it no matter what, but these drivers for about 2/4 of the race are really gonna need to give more than take positions.
How many fans can that track hold? NASCAR is trying to bring in a wow factor squeezing it in between the biggest NFL games in the same city. And its okay because it is not a points paying race.
Bowman grey can't hold 50,000+ fans (which is the expected attendance for this race) this opens up huge possibilities of doing races like these all around the world in other stadiums which could aid in bringing in a huge new set of nascar fans to the sport

Only thing that gives me hope for the clash is the fact that the track is wider, and the straightaways are curved.

But with the capacity for about 4x as many fans. Bowmam grew can hold 17,000, The LA Collisium can hold 75,000. Considering this race has an expected attendance of 50,000+ fans bowman grey would have been to small.

I think the 3% of that 10% will go to Fontana and experience the true awesomeness of a NASCAR on a real performance track like Fontana or Vegas’ awesome 1.5 Oval and then they will see “OH WOW” this is what NASCAR is really all about! Oh yeah the BBQ and Country music is still the main ingredient to this sport! There are alot of non Anglo Saxon people like myself who really dig NASCAR in it’s natural state, but because you are trying to change it to please a large group that’s never liked it, you’ve lost your core fans because of your choices to abandon its core!
Growing up watching races at Thunder Road in Barre Vermont, I always wondered what it would be like to see not just the drivers but NASCAR cars race a 1/4 mile
This is going to be great like Martinsville .. where my racer Rusty Wallace had some total domination with like Mark Martin and a few others.. so this will be awesome
Sort of stupid making the teams travel 3000 miles to the west coast to run a non points 150 lap race on a converted running track. A lot of expense that could have been avoided by picking a venue close to most of these teams home base in North Carolina on the east coast. Personally I thought that the added drama of the clash being on a super speedway was a lot better.
In stadium tracks they open the pit gate for cautions for 3 laps after cleanup for pit stops. I'm not saying this is the case here but that's the way at riverhead

I'm sure all the team owners/crew chiefs/mechanics are gonna LOVE this race. Take out a BRAND NEW race car and proceed to beat the fenders off it, gonna be a lot of wrecks. Gonna totally blow up some teams budget when they just binned a brand new car, especially since they're having to do a lot more R&D with the all new setup this year.

Im guessing the track surface is going to come apart. Track most likely wont last the entire race. Not to mention. I bet that less than half the field actually finishes the race. Its going to be a wreck fest. Similar to Bristol on dirt.

There are 36 cars entered for the event. After qualifying and heat races only 23 will be in the final race of 150 laps. As far as the quality of racing remains to be seen. Will it be single file racing and the only way to advance position is to dump the car ahead of you like at Bowman Grey. With the track being so wide at 36 feet it would be nice to see the drivers use all of it. Another unknown, will that fresh asphalt hold up on the exists of the corners as that horsepower is laid down to the track via the Goodyear Eagle racing tires. As far as doing it at another stadium, tear up Bank of America stadium in Charlotte, N.C. where the NFL Carolina Panthers play, would make better sense, so the teams don't have to go all the way to California. It's a gimmick idea trying to capture a national audience, and bring in lots of new race fans. We all know the current die-hard fans will definitely be watching.
Still think having this replace the clash at daytona is a bad idea. Sure the race is going to probably be pretty nice but it shouldn't have took out the clash and ruined speedweeks.

LA Memorial Coliseum has a rich history. Lots of professional wrestling shows there back in the day. Ray Stevens, Freddie Blassie, etc. Good stuff.

They won't be pitting at any point. Most that'll happen is adding fuel/changing tires between practice/qualifying/heats/race. Nothing in race.
