Best part was just people being chill, friendly, and aren't constantly railing against the devs, other community members, Blizzard, forumposters, etc. I feel like the aura of toxicity hinders a lot of discussion, along with Blizzard dev incompetence don't get me wrong, but to me Classic Era / Cata / Seasonal servers, they all felt like everyone was yelling at one another. Everyone was rushing, everyone was raidlogging, or everyone was migrating to the next thing on the Blizzard pipeline. People don't smell the roses and relax like people do on TurtleWoW. Glad it still exists.

Turtle wow has one of the nicest people ive ever met and the game ambience feels so great...all the added extra content, radio...i like playing and starting over the goblin area. But of course as it is what these classic server, balancing is what it is ...warrior best, everything else besides healers is meh...but its fun and in the future i see they have plans to change all this, big class changes coming, profession gear, new tier gear and etc
This server has ruined all other WoW experiences for me. I used to think I grew out of WoW, but this server is the closest thing I've experienced to the magic I felt back in 2006 - 2009. Nobody understands Vanilla+ like this server. The content they add feels like they hired OG WoW devs, it's so tastefully and well done. Existing zones are so well fleshed out with new quests and quest hubs. It feels so alive and it's clear the people playing on this server are not going anywhere, because there is nothing like it and they have nowhere to go. There are a handful of servers, that are trying to do what Turtle WoW is doing, but they always do silly things like NeW cLaSsEs and new content that doesn't feel like it belongs in the world. I deleted my battlenet account a couple months ago, which had my WoW account from 2006 on it. Official servers, modern or classic, are dead to me. Playing modern or classic feels so sad and dead to me. I replayed Classic from vanilla to wotlk and would always get hyped for new modern expansions, hoping this would be the one to bring the game back, it never did. Classic felt like a soulless and toxic sweatfest. I wanted to be done with official WoW, I knew it was never coming back and it's clear Blizzard doesn't want to create proper Classic+, the seasons are just lazy, lazy and lazy. If this server ever somehow manages to collapse due to corruption or something like that, I will probably be done with World of Warcraft for good.

I leveled a warlock during classic and played all the way through wotlk. I had an uncountable amount of characters and items on my account (2006 account) and I just deleted it. None of it I felt attached to because the game was dead and soulless to me. You're gonna miss out on the best WoW experience you can have, because you're afraid the servers will vanish? It's not gonna happen, the server is way too successful and they have build too much into it, just for it to vanish. Why would it vanish? I'm not kidding you when I say even if there was a deadline on this server for a couple months, I'd play in a heartbeat, it's a miles better experience than anything else.
I do like Turtle WoW. But despite the buffs they gave warriors, I'd like to see more viability for us warriors that want to raid but dps with two handers instead of making dw1h the meta like it is on classic

Nost could have moved the servers to a country that makes it impossible for Blizzard to shut them down. I don't think you're around in the scene much, but there are bigger servers than Turtle WoW (Warmane has currently a bit over 18k players online across their servers). Warmane has been around for over 10 years. European law is different to US law. It's in Europe which means property that is no longer updated and maintained by the creator becomes equally the consumers. Very different from US law where copyright is almost lifelong and we are essentially renting our character accounts from Blizz. Blizzard can't touch private servers, they have looong given up. Private server owners wipe their asses with activision blizzard cease and desist letters. The only way Turtle WoW (or any other server) dies, is by self combustion.

Best part of Turtle WoW is Ret Paladin being somewhat viable. Crusader Strike and Holy Strike really make it feel more involved than just judging your seals and waiting to judge again while you auto attack.
This kind of feels what we wanted Season of Discovery to be. Instead SoD is more like Wrath lite. More Vanilla with fixed classes is exactly what we all wanted and looks like Turtle WoW gives just that.
Well that's a great first video. Nice work man. A lot of Turtle's content does look cool as hell, but sadly the class changes went way too far for my taste. Is it really so hard to just tweak a few numbers upward until something is viable rather than redesign it into a different spec entirely? (Tree of Life is one such line in the sand for me)
@@Lenarian It’s an optional talent. But Tree of Life is fundamental to the identity of resto Druids imo. Druids shift into forms based on their role and spec and resto shouldn’t be exempt from that.

I just happen to like the vanilla druid specifically because it isn't hard specialized like that and exists in a nice hybrid space. I like the class for what it is and fell out of love with it as the xpacs went on and any sense of "hybrid" was stripped from it (and all the classes really) so am very disappointed to see them take that as inspiration.
There's a lot more class changes, talent trees are mostly the same but some have been added abilities. They tried to make every spec viable, arcane mages get brilliance aura from WC3 so it's good for raids and dungeons, arcane missiles also buffed. Shaman have a racial specific ability much like priests, orc can summon ghost wolves like the farseer in WC3. Paladin get consecration as a lvl 20 ability instead of a talent in holy tree, so pally can tank low level dungeons in any spec. As much as people hate the GM I think scrubbing world and general chat is what has fostered the community to be as good as it is. If you let the trolls run rampant it will turn toxic.
Overall a good server, the challenges sucks tho like being locked for cool transmog items/mounts because I need to torture myself with hardcore and 50% xp was too much. I gave up at 52 because it's way too draining for a collector.
Praying that in the second class changes they allow warriors to use charge in def stance and also allow thunderclap and cleave to hit more targets and scale the aoe damage with attack power. If so then I’ll likely re-roll a warrior main.

I really really didnt like the elitist community in turtle wow. Has been quite some time since I tried, I think it was 2022 or 2021? The moderation was a good, and also a bad thing. Rules had been enforced very strictly on some, and not at all for others. When I pointed that out in the discord, in a constructive way, providing screenshots, my post was removed and I was banned. The staff and long-time players were really, lets say "protective" ( one could also say insultive ), when it comes about criticism in any form. Even if it might be constructive.
Nobody else going to mention that this video is essentially 9 minutes of "vanilla wow is really good" and 1.5 minutes of "oh and they added gilneas"? I'm not sure how one would objectively review a 'classic+' server without being familiar with 'classic' first but oh well. I'm glad you had fun and shared your experiences regardless.

Helloo. I've have not tried "Hardcore" Challenge yet, but I was planning to stream Hardcore content on this Channel. But what I have info so far. Of course if you die - You lose your characters progression But if you manage to get your character level 60 without dying. You will be rewarded with a Very cool mount, tabard and a title called "Immortal" You will have a choice of either accepting the immortal title and you won't be needing to worry about losing your character OR you accept the "Inferno" Challenge which means that you will still be on Hardcore on your Level 60. If you die - You will lose all of the things you worked on. Hope it was a good response to your question! 💜

Immigrated to WoW Classic from FF14 back in 2021. Spent 2 days on it, couldn't take how "out of control" the whole experience felt. Retail felt infinitely worse. So far, my experience with Turtle has been incredible. Awesome people, awesome challenges, a relaxed casual atmosphere (I refuse to use add-ons unless I get to actual end-game raids as a tank that require my focus and mechanics done properly) but seriously...Turtle WoW has been incredible man! And your channel kinda guided me there last week xD
Cute server, Ideas are hit or miss the core itself is also very buggy and very scuffed on so many level and well lets not get into the people who play on twow.. otherwise its an "okay" server. Hopefully people will see the successe of TWoW and Classic+ and we might just get even better pserver or blizzard servers in the future

ERA servers are relevant for 1 year each max, then you reset and start over. private servers are up for longer mostly
