  • Embattled royal Prince Andrew used his status to help promote a secretive private bank, whose clients included kleptocrats and alleged criminals.
The Queen of England's favorite son developed a close relationship with the bank's owner, financier David Rowland, whose background could not be more different from his own.
This is the story of how these two vastly different men worked together to collect sketchy clients for a private Luxembourg bank.

@@stipebalenovic6497 the difference between the monarchy and any other landowner is that we, the people, pay for them directly with our taxes. it's not theft if we confiscate something we already pay for. Buckingham Palace is currently receiving hundreds of millions of pounds worth of renovations courtesy of the taxpayer, and we have no choice in the matter.
i'd also like to point out the irony in claiming that it would be stealing their lands when the monarchy has been complicit in the pillaging and colonisation of other nations' wealth for hundreds of years.
also, you mention the "real world" - i like to believe that the real world is (or at least, should be) based on meritocracy and democracy, notions at complete odds with the idea of a hereditary monarchy.

Apparently he stole the items collected on shore, trophies of war, like a prop or bell or something from a ship or downed aircraft, which were traditionally kept by the fighting servicemen, and hung them in the officers mess instead, where the average serviceman couldn’t see them. He was described as arrogant, rude, cowardly, untalented and nobody liked him. Conversely the same person told me that Prince Charles was respected for his ability. So this shady stuff doesn’t surprise me at all.

So what - so called reputable banks rip customers off - they are all self serving.
Five pounds for being a quid overdrawn. Another tenner for a letter to tell you that you owe a fiver - and 20 for not replying straight away, possibly because you couldn’t get through the 17 security checks at the call centre.

    • @garymills6702

My friend used to collect 20 pence coins in a large jar and when the jar was full he would take it to his bank to deposit. He's had to stop as he got the third degree! You couldn't make this stuff up. As if someone would money launder by converting it into small denomination coins and attempting to deposit it in a bank! I can just see a Russian Oligarch or African dictator converting their ill gotten gains into coinage! Haha!
In reality the latter are welcomed in London which has the reputation of being the money laundering capital of the world.
