Glad everything went ok. I find my nannies get worse stress if they feel dehydrated thru their delivery. I try to encourage them to drink water or a warm sweetened tonic I make with some molasses, corn syrup and goat minerals in at least a pint of warm water or warm water and warm low fat milk mixed in. The older nannies suck it down and within minutes get an energy boost and re-hydration relief to finish their kidding. Over 60 live kids this spring.
I just love how well you know your animals. And your so attentive. Dawn's my favorite she's so beautiful I love her colors. Best of luck this kidding season ❤️
BABIES!!! Makes me excited for babies we have coming soon 💖 As always, Thank You Crystal for sharing all of your experiences and knowledge, we learn so much from you! 😘
What a beautiful sunset with that storm rolling through. This is the best baby watch cliffhangers!!! Have seen the Community Posts but can't wait to see the vids. ✌️
Awe Cammie is prescious. They all are and they have a good fur mommy to make sure they're ok. Can't wait for videos! Exciting and job well done by all. God bless!
Right! I was a bit nervous as a first time labor and delivery nurse for a goat this year. So I asked a goat group that I'm a part of for help identifying signs of labor. I knew how in theory. I just needed to be reassured. And EVERYBODY told me that the only way to tell was the ligaments. Well my doe didn't lose her ligaments until half an hour before she delivered, but I still knew she was in going to kid that day because of the way she was acting. Know your goats!
HI CRYSTAL. YOU AND YOUR FAMILY WORK SO HARD TO KEEP THE BABIES COMFORTABLE AMD HAPPY. YOU ARE SO SWEET TO YOUR BABIES. YOU ARE REALLY SCHOOLED WITH YOUR BABIES. YOU ARE SUCH A SWEET LADY. I KNOW THE BABIES WILL BE BEAUTIFUL. LOVE YOU GUYS. GOD BLESS
Thank you for explaining the ligaments Ive had the hardest time understanding and I've watched a ton of videos and read a ton of things..I have been trying to figure out what it feels like and my doe doesn't like me feeling for them...So because Ive never felt what its like when they are gone ive been having issues figuring it out..>>but shes def close..she is sunken in and dropping...So keep tryin to feel those but she loves to run from me....Anyway.>THank you so much for explaining this..
Hi Crystal. Just want to say I recently found your site and I’m in love! Had no idea how wonderful it is watching those mama goats give birth and your incredible love and patience with all the does. watching the whole family is such a positive great experience. But your mama heart crystal. Makes me smile the whole time. And cry when you lose a precious baby. Getting to know the does names already. Can’t stand it when all the babies were playing together. Enthralled. Could call in and not go to work (I’m a nurse), just so I can get my fill of birthing and babies and ur genuine love and concern for each and every one of the. And that video with your honey and his ‘honey do’ list and ur ADDING even more does to the mix was hysterical. Think u should keep him... Take care. Lauren
Yay!! Next video is babies!! I'm looking forward to it, but wanted to thank you for still posting all this other footage first. I love seeing the whole process and getting the whole experience of it. The last comment by Derek does have me worried, though. I know babies are good but I do hope Cami is also okay.
Oh great I’m so glad she’s doing good. You know what’s gonna happen a goat for everyone to help with delivery. I hope I’m wrong. God Bless you and your family 🙏🙏🌻🌸🦋🌈😱😱😱😱😱
I have one doe that this time was making me go crazy I felt like her ligaments were gone for 2 days 😜. So thank you for that description it helped me out I don’t think I no what I was looking for.. and what time is a good time to start grabbing some milk for yourself I’m so anxious for my goat cheese lol but I also don’t want to taking when babies obviously red it more than I do lol...
From what I know, different people do it different ways. Some take babies from the mom's after a couple days and bottle feed, others will milk but only take what they need, leaving plenty for babies. If you know anyone with goats, maybe ask what they do and why and then decide the best process for you.
Weed me and reap dose baby's on for first two weeks then baby's up at night and milk in morning till baby's are weened at 8 weeks then twice a day milking
We separate at 1-2 days old. You will get A Lot more milk from your does separating early. We give it all to the kids for the first two weeks. Then we have more than they can eat and we get to enjoy it!
Blue Cactus Dairy Goats makes sense because I haven’t separated and I’ve notice a drop I can’t tell if the kids are just drinking it all or if there production is slowing down 😬 better get my butt to milking and at least separating at night thank you for your reply
Oh my goodness now I am on pins and needles. Cami is my absolute favorite girl in your herd! I hope all is well! I have 2 due this week (Wed and Thurs) and 2 more Sunday and monday of next week! It's getting real! Will be looking for an update on all but especially sweet Cami ❤
I have a question that has nothing to do about pregnancy, labor, ligaments etc. Do these goats have a problem with fleas or ticks considering they are outdoor animals? If so, what do u do to keep your goats rid of these pests, if anything?
Thank you for describing again how to find/check ligs. I've practiced in my yearlings in hopes of being better at locating correctly on the pregnant does. Long days/nights ahead. Anxiously awaiting for the birthing videos!
My doe is 135 day on March 4th. I’m not sure how many babies but she is huge. Her back side is swollen and her vulva is opening a little bit. Should I be worried?
Watched this at 4am after I got woken up by a loud possum outside (Australian kind). Saw this had popped up and grabbed the headphones as quickly as can be. But then you left me hanging. Cryyyystal!!
Maybe you are feeling them and just don't know that it's what you are feeling. Keep checking and if a change happens, you will notice and then you will know.
Hello glad to see the updates. I have a question , Is it normal for a goat to have just one kid ? We have a mini la mancha doe that gave birth today around 3am to one baby buck . She doesn't look like she's still in labor should we be on look out for another kid? Also we bought her pregnant and never seen the buck she mated with but I am assuming it was a Nigerian Dwarf buck because the kid came out with ND ears and our mini la mancha has the elf ears .
Yes I see what you’re talking about it’s very clear as to where the ligaments are and how they loosen and go in a V shape from the tail. I’ve never done any of this because, even though I’ve been raised around animals all my life. My dad thought that only he and my brother should be doing the birthing of animals. Silly man but a good man you raised 8 girls one boy, Daddy was extremely modest person and did not like his daughters around the animals have any babies
Omg what!? Ligaments gone then they came back... lost the die and had only one baby survive!? This is freaking me out! But the outcome is different as we know. But the suspense and that factor got me Thinking she is going to have a hard labor. Oh goodness this will be a very adventurous birthing season. Next time on...”As the Does kids” will Cami have a good labor of will they have to go into surgery cause her ligaments return. Will Mayo be the first to kid ;-) or will Elsa finally allow crystal to feel her ligaments and udder? Will Dawn have her baby doelings? Stay tuned to the next episode of “As the Does Kids” hahahhaa Love it all!! I hope all goes well can’t wait for the babies to drop!! 🤗🤗🤗
My heart just dropped when I read "Something's Wrong!" From the photos, I know Cami had her babies....I hope she is okay. Derek's comment at the end, with reappearing ligaments is scary. I'm looking forward to hearing the story in technical terms. The dynamics of birth are affected by a baby's position; I wonder if this was a similar situation. Whatever it was, thank you for the update!
Are your 8 does that were due in February still pregnant? My does have been late, so I'm just wondering if other folks with pregnant does are having the same issue...really late kidding?
OMG, any kids yet? Please say all is ok. I would not like to see anything bad happen to the does or the kids. I am hoping you get what you want out of this breeding & the girls are doing fine. Wish that storm would blow through quickly too.
Dawn has the most gorgeous eyes.

I think Dawn's my favorite colors.. tri color and ice blue eyes. Looking forward to seeing her kids.( does)
Your husband is the best Crystal!! What a great guy with those precious animals! Such a hard life...xo

So excited for the next video. Being a mother myself I feel for those goats and what they are enduring.
Wow intense! I am so sorry that she's having difficulty and I will pray for her to be ok.
I was hoping for babies but no. I am keeping the goats and you all in my prayers for safe and healthy babies.

What a beautiful sunset with that storm rolling through. This is the best baby watch cliffhangers!!! Have seen the Community Posts but can't wait to see the vids. ✌️
Dawn is my fave she's so beautiful.
She is one of mine also. 😍 Gorgeous girl ❤️.
I am hoping that Cami and her little ones are alright and bouncing around now. Keeping you and Derek in my prayers.
Awe Cammie is prescious. They all are and they have a good fur mommy to make sure they're ok. Can't wait for videos! Exciting and job well done by all. God bless!
All of your goats are so pretty
It happens here often. Ligaments come and go. I don't use them as a single benchmark for labor
Right! I was a bit nervous as a first time labor and delivery nurse for a goat this year. So I asked a goat group that I'm a part of for help identifying signs of labor. I knew how in theory. I just needed to be reassured. And EVERYBODY told me that the only way to tell was the ligaments. Last year about this time you had Snow. So rain 🌧 is better.
Hello from Montana. New sub here. My kids will be born later than normal here this year. I'll enjoy following you!
Dawn is so pretty.
I have personally had a doe wait more than 24 hours from fully losing her ligaments. But that was her first kidding.

You are too sweet! And is for sure a keeper! ;)
Hi I love this channel hope the goats are ok!
I was thinking it would be nice if you are staying out there with them and it's storming if you could have a tarp for added protection. God bless.
My goat showed no signs of kidding at lunch time feeding when I checked her then went back two hours later and the was a little boy with
Dawn is really pretty. ☺️
what do you look for when feeling for ligaments, what does close to labor legiaments feel like and ones that arent
I was hoping but I guess we will wait. Thank you for sharing. God bless

Just dropped everything to grab an earphone and clicked right away! Lets wait for next vlog.

Omg I know they have been born I'm ready to see babies
Explain what the ligaments are and why they go away when in labor
Oh no, I hope they are all alright!
I have one doe that this time was making me go crazy I felt like her ligaments were gone for 2 days 😜. Sending out good feelings for Dawn and her babies. Can you do an update on Dawn in general?
She is doing good!
@@BlueCactusDairyGoatsAWESOME!
Oh my those eyelashes on Lily!!!!!- Kristy in Missouri 😊
Yay I’ve been stalking my phone waiting for this lol 😆
Are there ever instances where they don't bag up until after labor? I have one the has almost no development
Not very common but I have had it happen a couple of times. Typically, first timers bag up much closer to labor than a doe that has kidded before.
I have a question that has nothing to do about pregnancy, labor, ligaments etc. Do these goats have a problem with fleas or ticks considering they are outdoor animals? If so, what do u do to keep your goats rid of these pests, if anything?

Sounds like one of the babies was breech preventing labor from happening due to position in the doe. I've had this happen twice.
How is Dawn doing with her cancer I just despise that word. I hope 🤞 everything goes good for her God Bless Dawn. God Bless you and your family 🙏🌺🌸🌼🦋🌈
Jill Arbogast I agree with you and I am sending out good feelings for healthy babies and Dawn is okay.
We are witting for kids
May have to go to vet and get some pitocin (oxytocin) to induce labor. I would check with Vet.
I pray Cami and the kids will be ok.
I have been waiting for this 😁 the babies are so adorable
Have any of your goats that are having babies ever bit or nipped at you just in general frustration?
Crystal you should take them for a walk it will put them in labor lol
do the 25 dollar fee go towards the purchase?
Hi Crystal and family hopefully you are all ok, 🙏🌬💟🌏🇳🇿👋🤗👍🧀🐐🌾🍁🍂🌻🍃

What do the ligaments feel like ?
Excited
Lily is so cute
I assume Cami was ok in the end? Sure hope so anyway 🤞
Me too, she's my top favorite so my fingers are crossed 🤞
I cant seem to find them. I got 1 due the 12th so I was feeling on other that stand for me to touch..I cant tell..😕
Maybe you are feeling them and just don't know that it's what you are feeling. Keep checking and if a change happens, you will notice and then you will know.
@@amandaclark1800 never thought of it that way. I'll just keep an eye on they ,:) and checking to see if I notice a difference

Yes, they can have singles :). If she is a mini LaMancha, that means she can throw kids with Nigi ears. It's in her genes.

Do you have cameras on your laboring Does 🐐

Love it all!! I hope all goes well can’t wait for the babies to drop!! 🤗🤗🤗
Why you don’t put them the same date, ( video)
I'm definitely not as ligament crazy as you are lol. My girls would start running.
Lol. They may not have them in the morning and loose them during the day!!!
My heart just dropped when I read "Something's Wrong!"
From the photos, I know Cami had her babies....I hope she is okay. Derek's comment at the end, with reappearing ligaments is scary.

Yes that comment has me worried too, Cami is my absolute favorite doe (though I absolutely love them all) and I do really hope she's okay.
They can have There babies when you are not There?
What is a mermaid baby?
How is little cammi?
What are mermaid babies, please??
Are your 8 does that were due in February still pregnant? My does have been late, so I'm just wondering if other folks with pregnant does are having the same issue...really late kidding?
Why no baby pics?
Geeez... where’s the babies? Hope all is well!
What does the phrase mermaid babies mean?
When a baby is born in the sac still.
OMG, any kids yet? Please say all is ok. I would not like to see anything bad happen to the does or the kids. I am hoping you get what you want out of this breeding & the girls are doing fine. Wish that storm would blow through quickly too.
Crystal!!! For real we want babys lol
What has happened with CAMI!! Youre killin' me! Its been 10 days!
The anticipation is getting me!
