Dude, you just got yourself a 24 hour auto-play feature on my channel. This review must be seen by people who think those reviews that AVGN and IG did can hold a candle to the job you did going over this game. Hands down my favorite review you have done thus far. Good job. And how the hell could IG and AVGN not mention the "kill all" move? That is a pretty huge thing for them to not mention in this game.
I just...wow. Everytime you do a review, I'm surprised by at least something. For one that you went through the whole game without A) ripping off of others, or B) changing your mind. For another that you can seemingly so easily review a game that's been done before (multiple times, even, like this one) without, again, ripping off of anyone else. I don't know how you do it, but keep doing what you do, sir. Unlike this game's repeating streets, you bring something new to the table everytime.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!! Another Aqualung! You have no idea how intently I wait for your reviews dude! They're hilarious and well done! Keep up the good work!!
Good god, man. You're kind of a retro gaming god, I think. Awesome review. I never got to the end of this game as a kid, so it was interesting to see it now. :)
It's been ages since I last seen the instruction manual to this game, but I assume that change was due to either legal reasons or done at the creative liberty of the game's designers.
another excellent review kenny. now i like the movie. but you're right about how they tweaked it a tad. but it's not look anyone could tell the difference 18 years ago.
If you thought this game was terrible, wait until you play its sequel Back to the Future 2 and 3. You will surely be frustrated by its merciless difficulty!
"I'd rather listen to Cyndi Lauper the whole time than this......ehhhhhh let's not say things we can't take back!" What were you going to say when you stopped yourself at that point?
1:59 Don't know if anyone's pointed this out to you before, but I have one slight correction: those aren't Marty's parents with him in the photo, they're his older siblings.
Now I'm not sure why I watched this video but, 6:26 This is the oldest video I've ever seen with a "Correction" Portion edited in. That there is a feat if you ask me.
1:59 Apologies if anyone else has already corrected you on this, but... Those aren't Marty's parents in the picture with them, they're his older siblings.
Cyndi Lauper is awesome music. I'd rather listen to Queen throughout the whole game. By the way, there is a cheat code where you can shut the irritating music off. Pause the game, hold up, A and B all at once. Then unpause the game, and BANG! the music's gone. But the next time you pause the game, the music will come back, so you have to do that code again before you unpause it. It's an easy code to do.
I always thought it a bit strange that the game starts with Marty already in the past. The scene at the beginning where Marty is trying to escape from the Libyan terrorists could've made a good first level. Ah well, the game's horrible, anyway.
I have always felt like a D- was a little harsh. I think a D is fair considering at least you got to drive the DeLorean at the end. But - oh wait - then again if you fail you do have to replay the entire game. But then again they have the musi-oh wait no they don’t. But we do get to see Doc Bro- oh wait no. Ok D- is fair.
There's been about three versions of BTTF 1 on computers, this one, a Japanese one on the MSX, which has fuck all to do with the movie and a bizarre one from the UK. Oh, there's also one based on the ride for the gamecube.
One of these days I will be strapped down to a chair and I will say to my arch villian, do you expect me to talk, and his reply was, no mr. bond, I expect you to listen to the music for BTTF NES fora duration of at least 2 hours
Love the old NES reviews. My wife hates you and knows when I watch your videos because of the Aqualung intro. She doesn't appreciate anything so don't be offended. Are you ever thinking of doing Genesis Reviews? Or a Contra review?? Come on man, you cant do NES without Contra!
@AqualungGameReviews CornshaqGaming did a walkthough of the game and it took him over 2 hours to do just part 2. Good luck if you have the patience to actually walkthrough it.
He isn't ordering anyone NOT to play this or any other game. It's all just suggestions: he's saying the game isn't worth wasting you time on because you won't enjoy it. I don't know a single person who actually LIKES this game. I myself was never able to get past the diner.
Unfortunately, all the music would have to be licenced (music companies are annoying like that) and LJN is known not to easily part with money to fund their games.
I know that LJN made this travesty but you would think that even they would be wise enough to use the Back to the Future theme during at least some of the stages...
Then play Super Back to the Future for the Super Famicom and there's your fun BTTF game, yes my friend the best BTTF game was released only in Japan durin the golden age of the SNES and Genesis.
LOL Nah, this guy actually plays the games AND completes them. He doesn't sit there and play a couple of levels and dream up as much filthy language as he possibly can for laughs. In other words: Aqualung > AVGN. That's right I said it. :D
I never played this game back in the day. It looks like it has an interesting design, with the timer instead of hit points and the rhythm-based minigames. But of course that design also appears to be executed pretty poorly. Too bad!
This game just doesn't come CLOSE to doing the movie justice. Lol, what a strange piece of shit. Also lol @ 5:49 - Even though Lea Thompson is sexy as hell, that shit still ain't right.
the last lvl is werid because you have to avoid lighting to get to lighting wtf did they not se the second movie when the delorean is not moveing but is sent back to 1885 i mean the shit man

I commend you for playing so well.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!
Another Aqualung!
You have no idea how intently I wait for your reviews dude! They're hilarious and well done!
Keep up the good work!!
Taking back the Cyndi Lauper preference just made my day! XD
"uhh let's not say things we can't take back!"
5:51 makes me laugh everytime.😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
In the movie, Marty's parent kissed while Earth Angel was playing, not Johnny B. Goode. LJN couldn't get that right.
For the first time in my life I beat the Cafe tonight and made it to the School!
Good god, man. You're kind of a retro gaming god, I think.
Awesome review. I never got to the end of this game as a kid, so it was interesting to see it now. :)
But if you reach 88 mph and then get struck, shouldn't you win? LJN not using their heads!
"Lughin Jokin Numbnuts" -AVGN
Died@5:52, great review man
It's been ages since I last seen the instruction manual to this game, but I assume that change was due to either legal reasons or done at the creative liberty of the game's designers.
love the AVGN reference at the ending screen
Wow, when I played this game many years ago I didn't even get to the school. Cool review.
love the walkthroughs dude keep them up
another excellent review kenny. now i like the movie. but you're right about how they tweaked it a tad. but it's not look anyone could tell the difference 18 years ago.
Eric Stotlz was originally cast as Marty.
If you thought this game was terrible, wait until you play its sequel Back to the Future 2 and 3. You will surely be frustrated by its merciless difficulty!
LJN does get a bad rap for shitty games, but their action figures back in the day were some of the BEST!
That was the film. In the game, it's Marty and the two incarnations of Doc Brown.
Fun to see more of the game, and sorry you had to suffer through it for this video!
The Spectrum version was even better...
"YOOHHOO! MCFLY?!"
Now I'm not sure why I watched this video but, 6:26 This is the oldest video I've ever seen with a "Correction" Portion edited in. That there is a feat if you ask me.
the music is actually a super fast version of The Power of Love by Huey Lewis.
when are you gonna review action 52?
Hey, Aqualung, just to clarify:
The picture at the bottom of the screen contains 1955 Doc, Marty, and 1985 Doc.
Forever love the movie but for the life of me i cant recall this game and i grew up with the nes and snes...
1:59 Apologies if anyone else has already corrected you on this, but...
Those aren't Marty's parents in the picture with them, they're his older siblings.
Funny thing is in the TV commercial they show the mom and dad fading then the kid playing it
@@GaryBeltzEven the commercial couldn’t get that part right.
2:55- Cyndi Lauper rocks!
Nice job at restraining yourself from referencing the Irate Gamer at the end there... XD
I beat it but it took YEARS. I played this game in my early teens and finally beat it in my 30s
Great great review! Excellent job man!
already have done a review of ghosts 'n goblins? if not, maybe its a good idea.
that line was realy funny ^^
Cool Review
i love your reviews!
I think this review is better than Angry Video Game Nerd's, Great job
8:42 This review really surprises me...I'm amazed you didn't think this game was bad enough to get an F rating.
what happens if you drive pass the finish going to fast?
Cyndi Lauper is awesome music. I'd rather listen to Queen throughout the whole game. By the way, there is a cheat code where you can shut the irritating music off. yes!! new review
sit-ting on the park bench
Can you do uninvited? The game is stressing me out!
oh my god! you reviewed the game better than avgn and the iate gamer!!!!
a new hero is rising!!!
Where is the back to the future 2 & 3 review
That game is a pain in the ass I can understand why he hasn't reviewed it yet lol
How far have you ever gotten?
This was the 2nd NES game I ever got
Sweet review (:
Very detailed.
Gotta love that commonly misinterpreted snip of info: "this game was made by LJN."
The game was actually "designed and developed by Beam Software."
I always thought it a bit strange that the game starts with Marty already in the past. The scene at the beginning where Marty is trying to escape from the Libyan terrorists could've made a good first level.
Ah well, the game's horrible, anyway.
I had this game on my NES got it for Christmas one year and I NEVER finished it!
i knew you were going to put this : D
excelent work
Eh, you're right on the Cyndi Lauper thing. That's Beethoven compared to the music in this game.
nice review and walkthrough. Never played this hopefully never will.
BTW i'm a huge AVGN Fan.
@AqualungGameReviews I think he means the one that only came out in japan. Even AVGN liked that!
That is the EXACT same spot I was stuck on
I have always felt like a D- was a little harsh. I think a D is fair considering at least you got to drive the DeLorean at the end. But - oh wait - then again if you fail you do have to replay the entire game. But then again they have the musi-oh wait no they don’t. But we do get to see Doc Bro- oh wait no. Ok D- is fair.
omg back to the future game GOD!
You must practiced a lot.
There's been about three versions of BTTF 1 on computers, this one, a Japanese one on the MSX, which has fuck all to do with the movie and a bizarre one from the UK.
Oh, there's also one based on the ride for the gamecube.
LJN publishes games, not make them. Back to the Future was published by LJN, but developed by Beam Software.

no more atari??? where E.T???
What's wrong with Cindy Lauper? >:3
Ding-ding-diddly-dee, DEE-DEE!

@AqualungGameReviews It took a TOOL ASSISTED playthrough FORTY FIVE minutes to beat it.
You should download the song and keep her guessing lol
Probably the fun gameplay the game initially has. And I mean intially - the street scenes become monotonous after awhile.
Great review....but come on man..Cyndi Lauper has some good songs...Time After Time is a classic.
@AqualungGameReviews CornshaqGaming did a walkthough of the game and it took him over 2 hours to do just part 2. Good luck if you have the patience to actually walkthrough it.
Unsurprisingly, that too was made by LJN.
2:55 Oh, I guess you don't wanna play Goonies 2 for the nes then. Most of the overworld is a Cyndi Lauper song
Two thumbs up!!!
i like your attitude
He isn't ordering anyone NOT to play this or any other game. It's all just suggestions: he's saying the game isn't worth wasting you time on because you won't enjoy it.
I don't know a single person who actually LIKES this game. I myself was never able to get past the diner.
Unfortunately, all the music would have to be licenced (music companies are annoying like that) and LJN is known not to easily part with money to fund their games.
This game is bad. I just reviewed it, and I can assure you guys that most of the negative stuff said about this game is pretty true.
I know that LJN made this travesty but you would think that even they would be wise enough to use the Back to the Future theme during at least some of the stages...
Didn't LJN also do terminator? They really need to stop playing with the time space continuum because they cannot make anything good come from it.
Then play Super Back to the Future for the Super Famicom and there's your fun BTTF game, yes my friend the best BTTF game was released only in Japan durin the golden age of the SNES and Genesis.
I hate this game but every once in a blue, I feel compelled to play it. I must be into fungus,
"Why don't you make like a tree ... and get outta here!"
I really dont care Aqualung. I'll play it if I want to
You can only go 88 MPH
Oh and T&C surf.
thx :)
AND KEN
HE WANNA HAVE FU-UN
OH KEN JUST WANNA HAVE FUN
First comment! I r teh winnar of teh youtube grand prix!!! (sarcasm)
Seriously though, great review.
LOL Nah, this guy actually plays the games AND completes them. He doesn't sit there and play a couple of levels and dream up as much filthy language as he possibly can for laughs. In other words: Aqualung > AVGN. That's right I said it. :D
much respect to you on this one. I hate this game like no other
@123stephenno He's nothing like the AVGN.
I never played this game back in the day. It looks like it has an interesting design, with the timer instead of hit points and the rhythm-based minigames. But of course that design also appears to be executed pretty poorly. Too bad!
Aqualung > AVGN, Irate, etc.
This was the worst NES game I ever played. And easily the worst soundtrack
This game just doesn't come CLOSE to doing the movie justice. Lol, what a strange piece of shit. Also lol @ 5:49 - Even though Lea Thompson is sexy as hell, that shit still ain't right.
If you ask me, with only a select few exceptions, games based on movies are doomed to suck. Movies based on video games, even worse.
Even the new Back to the Future game is boring. I honestly don't know, whether it be with 8 bit tech or current tech, how a fun BTTF game would work.
the last lvl is werid because you have to avoid lighting to get to lighting wtf did they not se the second movie when the delorean is not moveing but is sent back to 1885 i mean the shit man
D- More like F- - - - - - -
