Though I am surprised not to find others seeing a similar perspective, I see this song clearly as a warning to the generation of our civilization forced to face the times of its own demise, having twenty years or so to do so - song is written in 2006, Placebo's song would clearly imply a "turning point" for our civilization to be around 2026. It's a gentle emotional loving compassionate invitation to look at ourselves in the mirror, change and or accept the darkness within us before it's too late. These depressing dark themes makes contemplated with such poetry and beauty make it the ultimate goth song
NO ONE Finishes a song like the MIGHTY PLACEBO!!! Not many bands possess quite the same level of perfection & skill when finishing their song's. Yet PLACEBO have managed making it look effortless for decades.
COCO BAKER I'm 22, going to be 23 this year, and yes, I already feel old. Strangely enough, people always tell me I'm 18 or less. So I guess I have that going for me. It's strange to think that I'll be 30 in 7 years, scary even. I guess we should enjoy life as much as we can, because time really does not wait for us.
I find this music happily depressing...
I can't explain it.
João Pedro Santos Yeah i get the same feeling with a lot of metal bands. like My Dying Bride
