It's so engrained in his mind that he still doesn't break kayfabe. You're not a small minority at all.
He was a wrestler. He was active during the time the nWo was formed, and it was around that time some months later that he had surgery, and was forced to retire due to nerve damage sustained. He can work some spots, but he cannot take the bumps a normal wrestler can.
Arn was a fundamentals wrestler who was a great worker, who had moderate charisma and a decent enough look to be over. He wasn't ever going to be as over as Flair, but he was utilized perfectly in The Horsemen, and really being a good wrestler isn't always enough to even be close to where Arn was. Lots of guys who could work never made it to the mid card because they couldn't deliver a promo.
The man who named ‘the four horseman’ Arn could talk that talk with the absolute best of them. The promo he cut on The Midnight Express I still believe is absolutely one of the best promos cut by anyone!

If AA's peak was during the HEYDAY of the territory days, he was TAILOR MADE to be an NWA World Champ. Cut from that Harley Race kind of mode in those times. WHICH was an ultimate blend of brawling, power, and techincal skills. But Arn's mic skills were EPIC AS WELL. So pretty much, I ALWAYS viewed Arn as the evolution to a Harley Race. But in the new age, cosmetic appeal became more of a factor. So a guy like Arn who had epic in ring ability and mic skills got underappreciated by some. However, getting pinfall wins over Flair AND Hogan in the same calender year said it all about what Arn was all about. NOBODY ELSE in wrestling history can claim that feat.

I love it. I used this as a ringtone once. I started watching wrestling in 1997 right before Arn retired. I would have loved to watch him in the ring more, but at least we have the internet to look at our favorite wrestlers from back in the 80's and 90's. This is one badass theme song.
He was a former WWF tag team champion along with Tully Blanchard as a member of the Brainbusters and has been a road agent for the WWE and is currently a senior producer for Raw. So he, he has made his mark and still makes his mark to this day.
WCW Saturday Night ftw. i remember when I first got cable at age 7, and outta nowhere I saw WCW saturday night. Hogan was there, Savage, Flair, all those guys. And I was a WWF Fan at the time, but here was all my heroes growing up. I never stopped watching WCW since then, up until the WWF Attitude era lol

Arn became a road agent for the WWE a few years after his neck injury ended his career, his work backstage has greatly helped a lot of the wrestlers on the roster to this very day, I think he deserves to be in for that alone.

It was a different time, thats why most world champs were worth something back in the day, so many great wrestlers not getting a run with the title is what really made it seem like a big deal to me
