Love SS! I own prob all of the ones reviewed. Interestingly, I get a lot of different notes from what y’all did. For example, Kitchen is all peach, pumpkin, spices, and some type of sweet breads to me. Master Bedroom is clove, sandalwood, and champaca to my nose. Was fun to watch your reviews!

It seems like everyone always loves rose mallow cream & on paper it has all the notes I enjoy but it smells OVERPOWERINGLY like (clean) pampers diapers on me lol :( I was very sad about that one. I love snowmint mallow, maybe my favorite from the house. Also love rose custard kulfi. I like sun warmed honey, i usually stay far away from honey- it always smells like pee on me for some reason, but this one is good and smells like real honey. Man I need to try library, I stayed away from it bc I read online that it’s LEATHER and nothing else. I ordered white fox bc I have been wanting to try that one for the longest time. I love the idea of “cold” scents. Oh & speaking of fur.. have you ever tried poesie? They have a perfume called forest cat, check out the notes, I LOVE IT, it’s so nice. Anyways I totally agree with you about pumpkin, I have tried multiple houses pumpkin perfumes because I do like pumpkin, but they always smell like generic spicy fall candles :( I don’t think I’ve tried any pumpkin from SS though. OK I will stop rambling now lmao
This was so fun! I love Scrying Smoke too! So many others…I have a bit of a collection starting…I love Guardian, Chiffon, Spirit tree, Conjure, Violet mallow, Lace Draped Spectre….such wonderful scents. Tfs!!

Hi, Amy! I think you guys needed to sniff some coffee grounds/beans at different points, LOL. It would def have been sensory overload for me, but dang, looked like so much fun! The dry down for Jack & the Devil is an amber, vanilla, patchouli dream, & that scent has great longevity. I love it. Occasionally, I will wear Private Eye because it evokes some very specific nostalgia for me. When I first got it, I was overwhelmed by the cigarette smell, but 6 months later, that had blended in with the other notes & reminded me of the inside of my grandfather's old Rambler with the leather seats, cigarettes in the ashtray from my young, beatnik aunt, & for me there is also something slightly incensy that makes me think of Old Spice. Grandpa's car, but, the chocolate wrappers were not Grandpa, because he was diabetic, however, this scent lives up to its name! If you want to try one of the best rose scents around, try SS First Flush. It is not jammy, but you can practically smell the sunshine warming a rose garden. There is so much depth, it's a mindblower. Again, Amy, your videos are so unpretentious, informative, & downright enjoyable!🧡🍁🤎🎃
Mary, hi!! Great to be with you and to read your thoughtful (and full of intel) post. We should have had coffee or something to help us reset. On one hand I wanted to review all of their scents at once, as a celebration of the house near their fall release date, but in retrospect, I should have broken this up more as each scent deserves more time. I will make videos sharing what I experienced w/ the new ones actually on my skin (eg Cellar, while almost wacky on paper, became this oddball HEAVEN w/ time). Also, and you might know this but when I was in Paris last, I talked to someone associated with Parle Moi and she said that while many of us use coffee to re-set our noses, it is just one of many stimuli interrupters we can use. One of the best is actually our own unscented skin. I noticed in the video that Autumn would occasionally stick her nose back into her turtleneck to do this (smart) but I as host should have approached this differently because, as you know, each of these perfumes are story-worthy. I LOVED reading about your Private Eye scent memory. Can see it on my mind’s eye. And now I also need to buy Jack + the Devil!! Thank you, friend.
You three are too fun! We may need to do a part 2 to discuss my loves of S. S. Funny how my fave scent Master Bedroom got such reactions. I just love the clove and sandalwood in it!
Winter Dove is so pretty. I think Old Havana is really cool. Gibbon’s Boarding School is one of my fall favorites ❤ but I have a lot of diff samples and rollers. Badlands is another favorite (for summer/fall).
Absolutely loved this! I'm a big fan of Solstice anyway (favourite that I own is Violet Mallow but there are so many I love!) but am planning to buy Loggia - have been waiting all year for it to come back after falling hard for my sample! - and this has helped me work out which samples to order alongside it so thank you!

yay, love this overview. i love hearing how you all experience different scents. cardamom rose sugar and vanilla pipe tobacco smelled like french toast with syrup on me...which was not what i expected and not for me. so funny though. sirocco is totally not my usual type of scent but is intriguing to me so i kept my sample and wear it once in a blue moon. my absolute favorites are manor, nightgown, white fox, estate carnation, orient rose, casting shadows and a discontinued one (i think?) called amber rose petals. thanks for this- it's been a challenging day over here and this cheered me up

Hi Lynda! I overused that word here but to me it is the highest compliment. I think Solstice Scents are so unique, and often risk-taking. I was so surprised by a couple that I tried that were new to me, e.g., after wearing Cellar on skin a couple days ago, it got better + better and took me on this journey (that landed on this unforgettable earthy pear concoction). I have been wearing Estate Lavender the last few days and it is amazing… at moments feels sheer and Iris-y, then it will feel candied, then multifaceted. Can’t stop sniffing my wrist!! I bought a big bottle of the Lavender Vanilla this release but love the Estate Lavender equally. All their carnation scents are marvels, but Winter Dove + Lace Draped Spectre are more « me. » Do you like pear notes in perfume? I want to share a few of these via mail. I love foxcroft! I smells dirty in the best way. My husband hates it so much so I put it on when he’s not around. I like to wear it while gardening. I feel like a forest nymph

Have you tried Headmaster or Tropical Moon? What would be the best sweet leaning gourmand that doesn't go yankee candle? (It could be summer too like vanilla coconut or fall leaning spiced apple, etc). Also I really enjoyed this and TYSM for putting the timestamps in! So many don't do this and it's so helpful to reference back to 👍
Hi!! Excited you are diving in. I have not tried the two you mention… just the 85 on this list!! Ha. They sound great tho. It is such an individual thing, picking a scent. I would highly recommend a sample set to try. But if I were forced to choose within your « favorite sweet gourmands » criteria, (you must like the notes of course): Rose custard Kulfi or rose mallow cream, Lavender vanilla, Smokewood apiary, sycamore chai, Violet mallow, Pumpkin spice latte, Chiffon, blossom jam tea cakes. I also love Corvin’s apple fest + Kitchen and tho they don’t for me, Autumn thinks the apple one leans a little candle-y. Offbeat but I love: black mallow, snowmint mallow, foxcroft fairgrounds. I de-accessioned Black Forest (it is great but I don’t like chocolate much). I like a bunch of others in the list but these are the first I could recommend. Have fun!

The peppermint marshmallow sounds amazing it. I like minty fragrances. Aura by Mugler had a minty note which attracted but I could not stomach that one.
This is so interesting to read. I haven’t tried Aura and while I love some Mugler scents, some overpower me. 3 other mint-dominant scents I love are: Jo Malone Mint + Jasmine, Goutal Nuit Étoilée, and Guerlain Herba Fresca. The Solstice one is very gourmand + yummy! XO.

I bought lavender vanilla perfume, cellar glacé (it becomes really pear-centered on the skin), blackburn’s farmstead oil + glacé (mmmmm berries), logia glacé, and farmhouse in fall oil as well as a few gifts. Thanks for a look into your cart + the kindness in general. 💛

I got the same items in Blackburn. YUM! I’ve got Lav Vanilla on my wishlist. I’ll have to check out the pear scent. I’m obsessed with pear. You chose some good ones. It was tough to pick because I wanted everything. Years ago, I had their Cenobite scent but it’s been discontinued. It was a french vanilla custard scent. Very rich and you could smell the vanilla bean. SO good and like nothing I’ve smelled. I need to see if any of the other vanillas smell similar. Excited to hear about your order!

I told myself I was going to hold back this year, but, gulp, I did not! I bought lavender vanilla perfume, cellar glacé (it becomes really pear-centered on the skin), blackburn’s farmstead oil + glacé (mmmmm berries), logia glacé, and farmhouse in fall oil as well as a few gifts. Thanks for a look into your cart + the kindness in general. 💛

I got the same items in Blackburn. YUM! I’ve got Lav Vanilla on my wishlist. I’ll have to check out the pear scent. I’m obsessed with pear. You chose some good ones. It was tough to pick because I wanted everything. Years ago, I had their Cenobite scent but it’s been discontinued. It was a french vanilla custard scent. Very rich and you could smell the vanilla bean. SO good and like nothing I’ve smelled. I need to see if any of the other vanillas smell similar. Excited to hear about your order!
