Clever puzzle today. I didn't see the Blend that you wrestled with, thank goodness. I saw the correct one early on, but it took me ages to finish it off. A real bobby dazzler of a Spangram! Btw, no hints, just brain exhaustion. ☺️
In the custom puzzles, it allows multi-select where you can select four in one color, then another four in another color, etc. This might have been a good puzzle on which to use it. I wish the NYT Connections had this.
You STILL did well with both recent misses, Oranje, getting your 9 points in Connections because of both bonuses. I made the same mistake as you did with the HIT category. These RED HERRINGS often "throw me for a loop." 😂
You should get full credit on this category if you said PRANKS/MISCHIEVOUS ACTS. I told Chinareds that he should get the full point. Either way, you still did well today, Michelle. 😀
I was fine with Wordle /Connections, but had issues in Strands. I prefer BIRTHDAY CAKES over SMOOTHIES. I like German Chocolate cake and my Ice Cream cakes. 😊
Oranje, that was a fun solve! I corrected the mistake in A Rose 8.1. I can't figure out how to delete a posted game. Also, with the colors, they are 1 step away from their connections order, yellow is green, green is blue, blue is purple and purple is yellow. I decided to go for a fun/clever one. I figure some might grab the low hanging fruit.
NATAL TERMS GREET BRUTE I didn’t fall for the violent misdirect you did in connections, my goof was putting Globe, Egg, Moon and Sun together under “Things that are (quasi)spherical” the embarrassing part was this was when there were just two categories left, by which point the newspaper names should have been blatantly obvious. This was one of those insanely frustrating strands where I actually guessed the theme right away, but gave up when I couldn’t find any examples right away (the only actual settings I could think of to look for were “puree” which I was trying to spell wrong, and “dice” which, I don’t know, might be on some blender somewhere. Also, while I was thinking the right thing, for some reason my brain was calling it “blender levels” which, combined with the wrong “blender” that you kept finding, made any search for the Spanagram pretty fruitless.
I abandoned Strands. Just as well as i discovered i don't know how to spell liquefy thought it was liquify. Got connections (thought it was hard) except purple pranks. FIGHT TEARY VOTER BRUTE

But then I decided no, the thing to do was to send them in the order I created them, and get to my favorites in due time. Hence E1, E2, ... When I got to the third one, a favorite, I skipped it, because although I created my puzzle on 2023/09/15 (yes, I have witnesses who solved it that day), Wyna released a puzzle on 2023/09/20 with the same Purple concept (mine: ATE, FORE, TOO, WON; Wyna's: ATE, FOR, TOO, WON). I was disappointed to skip a favorite, but I didn't want it to look like I copied Wyna, even though I didn't. So I set my sights on my next favorite, my ninth puzzle. Fast forward to yesterday. Opened Andrea's puzzle. Spotted AMETHYST, GRAPE, LILAC, PLUM ... 😮Wait, she didn't ... 😮She did!!! 😆😢💔😆On the bright side, while Andrea's puzzles are usually a marathon for me, I solved this one in under a minute. 🙂Which brings us to the TL;DR. Andrea's puzzle and mine have only three words in common, but in this case, it's the concept that counts. And if this hadn't happened to me, it would have happened to Andrea, and I wouldn't wish that on her either! 😆 Oh well. Happy puzzling! 🙃
