@@zofficialone6214 same here. I heard that song going through a real difficult time in my life and I was hooked. They helped get me through it. What a powerhouse if a band, I hate this whole situation
I remember watching Ryan's cover videos as a kid learning the guitar. It was through these videos that I discovered bands like periphery, intervals, and abr. I always thought "he's such a killer player, I wonder what he'll do in the future". That's when I found Polaris. I went through one of the toughest periods of my life in 2019, and 2020 was when the Death of Me came out. The album quite literally got me through that period and the riffs and leads from this song changed the way I play guitar forever. Thank you Ryan, for everything. Riff lords never die. Rest in Power ❤
Your music has helped me through so much. Anxiety, depression, PTSD, intentions of suicide. I’m so happy and grateful for this to come around at these hard times. With all of my heart, *I FUCKING LOVE YOU GUYS!*
It’s unbelievable how music can help you through tough times in life 💪🏿 stay strong! (Of mice and men - survival/instincts) helped me through some hard times as well
The instrumental track is in this playthrough, but we retracked all parts and used STL Tonehub and layered them over the track. Blends pretty nice with the reamps from the record and sounds pretty nice on their own!
@Dank Riffs My 7 string does have Juggernauts in at the moment, but I have a new Ragnarok bridge pickup i'll be popping in soon - that's what we used for all rhythms on the newest record, 6s and 7s.
RIP Ryan. I had been following you long before Polaris when I started playing guitar again in 2013. Just now heard the news about you.. can’t believe it.
I just can't believe how much of a masterpiece every song they have is... They were destined for each other. I couldn't imagine the pain the band felt / feels losing Ryan..
Idk how to express how monumental his influence on all of us was and still is, i used to play this video on repeat for months on end when this came out just due to my love for the guitar work on this track
Just got into these guys through an aussie playlist. This band slaps and so sad for them and family. What a talented young guitar player. Will always listen and remember ❤
I love this so much, and I love how Ryan and Rick can alternate between lead and rhythm. You’re all so ridiculously talented, and it’s awesome to see a play through with Jake too after the few guitar play throughs you’ve done. Drums when?? 😂
I JUSTTT found out that Ryan passed.. how did i not know this, i was wondering why they sound so different suddenly, something didn’t feel right.. Ryan made such a huge difference to their sound. RIP kid you were too young
It has been so long since an album meant this much to me. Seriously. It’s like y’all read my mind when writing it. When I finally see y’all live, ima cry when y’all play Masochist. Deadass. I love you guys so much 🥺
Metalcore in general came back really hard the past 2 years. ERRA is killing it, Polaris, Of Mice and Men putting out the best stuff they ever have. It's a good time to have been a scene kid in the mid 2000's
At the mantle of the heart A river flows inside We drain ourselves in steady streams Until the river runs dry At times, these tides define us Deny us of ourselves A finite source of optimism That leaves a hollow shell And as the seasons pass And winter's numbing cold gives way to pain We light these fires to sit beside As we pray like hell for rain At the hour before the dawn The last embers burn 'til day It's all I hang my hope upon You can't take that away from me Every morning in the mirror I see My worst enemy reflected in me 'Cause I'm a born unbeliever, a cynical soul I can only trust as far as I see But every time I close my eyes I'm who I used to be (who I used to be) I never thought I'd feel so cold Until the fire faded out in me I've never felt so cold Such sacrifice for so little to show To learn these lessons I never wanted to know That we will all die alone And how my blood remains on the tip of the blade As it severs the flesh from the bone So far beyond the below I was there when they sowed the seed I was there when the rats came out to feed And when the rain came It extinguished the flame in me As I slept The seeds of doubt were sown I tore my heart apart for this In hopes my light would grow And I dreamt about a place Where all our virtue could withstand I woke in fright, appalled to find The blood was on my hands But every time I close my eyes I'm who I used to be (who I used to be) I never thought I'd feel so cold Until the fire faded out in me I've never felt so cold
Consume is my fav Polaris song, but this is a very close 2nd. That breakdown in the middle is incredible and still gives me tingles. This band will never be the same without Ryan. 😢
Playthrough is sick, and so incredible to see Rick rocking that Alpha Wolf merch. Bands that have "made it" supporting the up-and-comers is exactly what keeps our scene moving forward. Mad props boys
Jezus, I learned from comments here that Ryan passed away. What a terrible sad news. I followed his videos as a guitar player growing up, as a band member of Polaris and now he is gone. R.i.p Ryan, and strength to your loved ones...
Rest In Piece Ryan... Gone way too soon. Time to binge some of my favorite work of his..
Immediately came to this play through as well. R.I.P.
Immediatly came here too, i can't believe it.. RIP Ryan you're a legend
100%
He was the reason i picked up a 7 string. Forever talent gone too soon indeed.
An absolute inspiration to me and will live on through the music he and friends created. Gone way too young rip buddy😭
Many of us came here to grieve the passing of Ryan. He was very talented and taken from this world too soon.
Rest In Piece Ryan. What a legend. Thank you for all the music you've given us you will be missed.
so fucking talented
Glad I'm not the only one who came here after the news of his passing...
This song slaps so unbelievably hard
i didn’t expect you to be into metalcore! i knew there was a reason i watched you, and it wasn’t just for your content
My friend...what are you doing here my friend?
holy shit i just watched your bullying dooo in cards against humanity video
Aah my favorite Arab dude, love seeing you here
BRUH BLARG?
Crazy how music will have you feeling connected to someone you never knew. The pain of Ryan's passing is truly palpable.
I feel this! Took my Dad to see Polaris with me back in November... When I told my Dad I burst in to tears. Heartbreakjng!!
Still can't believe this happened.... Rest in peace, Ryan. Such an amazingly kind and talented guy. Gone far too soon. You will be missed 💔
Telstra gonna be confused this month when they see that my whole internet bandwidth was only used on replays of this playthrough
NBN can't handle this amount of riffage
Yep mines gonna be up there as well!!!!
Came to watch Ryan play after hearing the news… RIP such an inspiration on my behalf and I’m sure many others
Had the same thought. Polaris has been one of my favorites since I first heard The Remedy.

"as we pray....like hell....for more playthroughs"
SERIOUSLY! Whole new level of respect when they drop these playthroughs!
I need a Landmine playthrough
I love the few they’ve done, just watching Rick and Ryan groove is awesome.
I’d love to see Above my Head, The Descent, and Vagabond.

It makes me happy that you’re still here.
this album is the most beautiful thing in this cursed year...
thank you for the good music
RIP Ryan. You've inspired me so much throughout the years of my guitar playing🖤
RIP Ryan, what a loss man, he was so young, he was inspiring as fuck and I'm a drummer though. Let's keep his legacy alive
This song is probably the greatest thing I've ever heard. That part at 3:56 is so unbelievably beautiful.
The tones you boys get are literally some of the best around right now. Unreal. Sure now how to write some crunchy tasty riffs too!

Not even a guitarist, but Mayones and Aristides make some of the most incredible and visually appearing guitars.

"Yes"
Seriously though, sick vid boys
i can’t get over how good their guitar tones are.
Taken from the world far too soon, this universe didnt deserve you mate im honored to have even shared the same dirt as you mate rest in paradise

Thank you for the encouragement you’ve given me to keep pursuing music. Your guitar parts hit differently now…

The arpeggio melody is out of the world man, absolutely epic.
Such good memories of them opening at the Enmore with this one... seems like forever ago. Amazing stuff fellas!
Amen 🙌🏻 was the last gig I went to before everything went to crap
Yeah, the Melbourne show was the last gig I went to. The opening still makes my hairs stick up. Such an amazing song.
Totally agree! Polaris @ Enmore was the last gig before lockdown too
It does feel like forever ago. My last show before lockdown too. Don't forget the Live at the Wireless recording is still up on triple js website
I’m wishing one day to be able to watch these guys slam a show. One of my all time fav bands
Berry dope 🤘🍓
This song changed music for me. I’ll miss you, Ryan
Rest in peace, one of my favorite guitarist.
RIP Ryan. You will be sorely missed. This is a masterpiece that I listen to everyday. I can't believe it.
I love Ryan's tapping sections... So good
Everytime we Pray for Rain, Ryan will make sure it happens.....RIP Ryan
This makes me think of Tom Searle, very similar sounding stuff, amazing track 👌🏻
I get the feeling Tom is a massive inspiration to so many guitarists around the world. The way he wrote music and the music he wrote was just amazing.
awww
Yesssss, I think he would also be happy with the direction Architects is going in. They have been putting out bangers for ages now.
RIP you beautiful human! Thankyou for all the bangers 🤟
This slaps so hard! Best album of 2020
Everyone: metalcore is dead
Aussies : Mate hold my koala
Don't forget about "The Way It Ends" by Currents. For me, those two albums best

I wake up to this song every morning 🖤
At the mantle of the heart
A river flows inside
We drain ourselves in steady streams
Until the river runs dry
At times, these tides define us
Deny us of ourselves
A finite source of optimism
That leaves a hollow shell
And as the seasons pass
And winter's numbing cold gives way to pain
We light these fires to sit beside
As we pray like hell for rain
At the hour before the dawn
The last embers burn 'til day
It's all I hang my hope upon
You can't take that away from me
Every morning in the mirror I see
My worst enemy reflected in me
'Cause I'm a born unbeliever, a cynical soul
I can only trust as far as I see
But every time I close my eyes
I'm who I used to be (who I used to be)
I never thought I'd feel so cold
Until the fire faded out in me
I've never felt so cold
Such sacrifice for so little to show
To learn these lessons
I never wanted to know
That we will all die alone
And how my blood remains on the tip of the blade
As it severs the flesh from the bone
So far beyond the below
I was there when they sowed the seed
I was there when the rats came out to feed
And when the rain came
It extinguished the flame in me
As I slept
The seeds of doubt were sown
I tore my heart apart for this
In hopes my light would grow
And I dreamt about a place
Where all our virtue could withstand
I woke in fright, appalled to find
The blood was on my hands
But every time I close my eyes
I'm who I used to be (who I used to be)
I never thought I'd feel so cold
Until the fire faded out in me
I've never felt so cold
thxs !
Rest in Peace my brother Ryan thank you for everything

God I love this. Probably one of my favorite heavy bands out there right now.
Album of the year no contest. On top on that this might be one of if not my favorite metalcore song ever. Good vid kings
this is BY FAR the best song of this year.

Btw nice shirt 😂. Love that band as well.
Idk why but 1:42-1:45 reminded me of a show called How it’s made and that show’s intro (minus the drums)
Usually I hate too many cutaways in a playthrough vid but this was so well done it was mesmerizing

My heartfelt sympathy's for the passing of Ryan Siew. His playing was an escape for me in a time where I desperately needed one.
Cant seem to get enough of this band
You gotta believe the hype when your right hand game is this powerful.
Them are my boyz! Rock on fellas. Love every single thing you put out.
This right here is what you call perfection
It is truly unfair to every other artist the amount of talent you all have.
The breakdowns you guys give us are honestly some of the best in Aussie metal/hardcore🤘🏽🤘🏽Cant wait to see what comes next boys !!
They need more recognition cause everything from these amazing guitarists to the vocals and the aggression are TOP
I wish the ending breakdown was more longer. Cant get enough of it!
