As a Houston fan, tf do we need Fox for? He's in his prime next to a prime Sabonis and he can't find a way to win games while a team of 19-22 year olds with Vanvleet and Brooks kicks their ass in the standings. At this moment in time, fox is better than Jalen. But by how much? Jalen is the better defender. Jalen is a better 3 point shooter. Jalen is more available. Jalen is more athletic. Jalen is younger. Jalen is on a cheaper contract. Jalen is not asking for trades and getting good coaches fired. Jalen is the leading scorer on the 2 seed in the West. Most fans make their assessments of players early in their careers and for top picks that go to tanking teams, those assessments are usually that they suck. And Jalen did suck at times in his career. Labeled inconsistent and rightfully so. but the development of that consistency in real time will look like higher lows and more frequent highs. That's what Jalen has done so far this season. Jalen has won us multiple games this season that we would've lost without him. Fox is better currently, but green projects to be just as good or better in just a couple years. bad move to get rid of assets just to make a small improvement that doesn't address the main issue of the team (3p shooting). Kings can keep him and keep stinking it up as the 11 seed.
This is why im not sold in getting Fox or even Booker, Booker who isnt a PG and Fox who is also a 30% shooter. If we would want to trade the only want i want gone would be FVV, heck even i dont want to trade FVV. If we would trade FVV I would want Lonzo, tho he still not back to form, im optimistic on that he would improve overtime and he is cheaper with greater IQ, size and defense than FVV.
We should get SOMEBODY. We are #2 and we can make one of the most slept on runs EVER if we can get a certified bucket. We have the defense to run it with everyone healthy.
They should try to explore a smaller trade that address need that won't cost them much and won't hurt their opportunity to trade for a star in the offseason. Like, Corey Kispert to add shooting or like a John Collins to add a versatile big that can play small ball 5 / PF. That can space the floor with some shooting and his athleticism to be a vertical spacer.. A smaller move that can improve them a little and maximize their season..
We really need a defensive minded back up center I like Steven Adam’s he’s a great rebounder and set great picks but we need a shot blocker. We should get walker kessler 7 footer with good weight and places amazing defense.
@@Kimdongoong Rockets already top3 defensively. Don't necessarily need that back up big to be that much of that prototypical rim protector that's slow and can't switch defensively. We need a back up big that will bring a different skillset - John Collins can provide that weakside shot blocking & can be effective on those switching schemes. Then provide spacing offensively both with his outside shooting and him being a lob threat..
Okc is the blueprint, the NBA has made it incredibly difficult to build through free agency or trade to build a title contender. It is about making small trades to get better, not major trades.
Why kill their chemistry to add a marquee name? They are 2nd in the West, with a dramatic jump in improvement from last season. Just stay the course and see what develops.

I will keep Jalen green people inked in APLI entirely too fast when in actuality he's limited he's one-dimensional. If you're going to go hunt and in pursuit of a player why not go Joel Embiid ETC....... the fact is Jalen has been the best player on this team this year 5 subpar games out of 36 that eliminates the argument of his inconsistency that's 86.11%. If I'm the Rockets I look to the interior and get more dynamic there

@@avissanders1888 he’d be a good fit and they could go the salary plus picks route with him but I am curious whose minutes he’d eat into once Jabari is back.
The Rockets' current Western Conference standing negates the need for significant roster alterations. Integrating a player like Fox, whose previous team experienced coaching changes due to defensive concerns, presents a potential chemistry issue. Coach Udoka prioritizes defensive contributions, and Reed Sheppard offers a suitable replacement for Van Fleet. Furthermore, Fox's impact on the Sacramento Kings' performance has been underwhelming.
Definitely not. They should wait until the off season, let the core ride out then in the off season see what’s out there and go for something that’s needed based on the playoffs.
Dan started making a good point then talked out of both sides of his mouth. You were right that a mid season trade does nothing for them this year. You then say Reed can't be that guy because he won't this year. As a Rockets fan, I don't want them trading anyone. The goal isn't to win it all this year. It's to win multiple rings in 2-3 years.
Totally agree. The Boston game was rough, but overall, we are WAY ahead of where anyone thought we could be at this point. We should not break up this core of athletic, talented YOUNG players. Ime has been a godsend. So have Fred and Dillon. I was sure about those two vets at first, but they have turned out to be everything we needed and then some. And Reed will be just fine, as will Cam Whitmore. We are in second place, behind a very good OKC team (whom we’ve beaten this year, BTW). And I believe we are ahead of a lot of teams with superstars, like the Lakers. No, let Ime continue to mold these guys. Only 3 teams in the entire NBA have a better record than Houston
@@danfavale9168I agree with your point. You also discounted Reed because he's not ready this year. I think he or Amen are the answer at PG, but it's an answer next season at the earliest.
Several NBA 2K franchise mode general managers are proposing unrealistic trade scenarios. The Houston Rockets possess a young, talented core and sufficient bench depth to compete for years. Acquiring De'Aaron Fox, who hasn't significantly improved his current team, is unnecessary. The suggestion of acquiring Stephen Curry, who is nearing the end of his career, is impractical. Given that NBA executives ranked Amen Thompson as the top draft prospect, trading him-a potential Fred VanVleet replacement-would be unwise.
In my opinion the rockets have the best assets in the league behind thunder so why trade them for someone like fox or butler who will only get you maybe an extra round in the playoffs. At that point let them develop longer and hope someone breaks out nobody should get traded until a legit superstar gets frustrated and wants out they got the assets for it and while they wait on that they can see who on the team makes that leap. The last thing u want is to trade one of them and then they turn into an absolute dawg and all u got was 4 more playoff games not worth it
There is absolutely no one out there to trade for that will give them a better chance then what they have now i wouldn't trade for anyone it will be the biggest mistake for the Rockets organization if they do.
Seems bunch of these TH-camrs just propose unnecessary trades for views? 😅 We don’t need to trade away any of the core 7 this season. Fox doesn’t even play D right?
@nocap6000 Green average more than Sengun. The Rockets win more games when Green is the leading scorer. The Rockets have a 10-3 record when Green is the leading scorer and 6-3 record when Sengun is the leading Scorer. The Rockets play faster and run better with Green when Sengun is on the bench. They gain or maintain leads when Green is running the offense. They lose leads or fall in a hole when running the offense through Sengun. In order for the offense to work best through Sengun, Green and FVV have to score more as spot-up shooters which is not to their strength. On the flip side, Green don't need Alpi to be at his best when the offense goes through Green. They still win more games whether Alpi have a bad game or not. It's doesn't matter because the team naturally flow better as a team through Green. Alpi only fit better with Green when he DEFER to Green and the other guards and forward and focus on defense and rebounds, not scoring. This is why the narrative of needing a defensive big man is more evidence and a greater need to counter a Sengun presence on defense. And Steven Adams is the wrong choice for a defensive big. So to conclude here, Sengun fit best as a facilitator on offense and focus on rebounding and defense while letting the offense goes thru Green.
