ALSO CRATE TRAIN ur dogs. If they have to stay at the vet, boarding, traveling in car or plane, it’s SAFEST to have them in a crate. In my opinion, crate training ur dog only shows more love & responsibility to ur pet & their wellbeing. My dog is crate trained but NEVER uses it (it’s not even set up) but he’s not traumatized in a situation if he needs to be & we have.

i had a similar situation with my dog, unfortunately his vet misdiagnosed him and wrote it off as anxiety. we had a second opinion scheduled but symptoms progressed within 24 hours and he ended up becoming paralyzed that night and surgery saved his life. pet insurance reimbursed 90% of all costs and still does with his weekly physical therapy. highly recommend for anyone with a pet! ps - that was almost two years ago. hes 6 now and is happy, healthy and so incredibly spoiled.

My shih tzu has a spinal disc condition too! Her first episode was super rough and her little back legs were completely paralyzed. She had to be in crate rest for 8 weeks and made a full recovery. She’s had a couple episodes since then but we’ve been able to avoid surgery so far. Having a dog lay around all day for 4 weeks and more is so rough so I can totally relate. Hopefully Icky gets better soon!!

That just happened to my 4 year old poodle mix. I had to use a harness to hold his back legs up while he went outside to use the restroom. It was so scary. I couldn’t afford the surgery but medicine and keeping him in his crate he is moving around so much better! Almost back to his old self but now he has a swing in his walk lol

That’s crazy the cost over there. I’m in Australia and my sausage dog ended up needing surgery for her back. Luckily we have pet insurance which covered 80% of the cost but if we didn’t it would have cost $7000 AUD.

I sooo relate to the absolute aw at our bodies. My friends and I in my masters human nutrition program have joked about being in a simulation specifically after learning all the ways macronutrients are used in our body. The craziest processes - it’s so wild to think about how our body is made of a bunch of cells carrying out a bunchhhh of essential tasks !!!!
Our boston terrier used to have simiar issues with sort of losing control of her hind legs. Took her to the vet and turned out her anal glands were impacted and had to be expressed. The vet said some dogs never have to have that done and some need it weekly. She was good after we started doing that every so often. Hope everything works out for your pup!

Ryland my dear as you enter the 30’s you will notice more and more aches and pains some more intense than others. Things we could do in our twenties can cause pain in our thirties. I’m not going to say we are getting old but we do have to be more mindful and careful than we did even 5 years ago
@LizzeGordon, you should visit a holistic doctor. A lot of times when something is wrong or odd with one part of our body, skin, etc it is often rooted in something else. It can be your gut or something that has nothing to do with your eye but it's affecting your eye..I hope that makes sense lol. But I used to have severe stomach issues and couldn't eat dairy but then I visited a holistic doctor who did acupunture on me and gave me specific herbs that fixed all my stomach issues !! A lot of western doctors just look at the problem (your eye in this case) & see it's fine but doesn't like at your whole body to see if anything beyond your eye is causing the issues. hope this helped even a litte, love you both !!
Lizze the bumps are the after effect of having a stye! We got one on the same eye at the same time (I was at Disney world and you were at Disney land with Ryland) crazy lol but it will go away! Mine did after having them for a bit. Hope you see this so you don’t keep worrying!

So agree with Lizzie. You have to not sit on the anxious feelings because all that does is spiral out of control and being honest is always right. Being fearful of having open communication is something you have to get over. You have to trust your partner. Without the truth, your mind will lie to you constantly and create situations that might not even be real.
I rescued My Frenchie and he was completely paralyzed (had a wheelchair, shout out to Eddie’s wheels) and I was able to get him to walk again with no surgery. I still need to express his bladder for him but he is a happy boy.
Omg the exact same thing happened to my dog Lizzie but my dog is weenie. He also didnt understand why he was “in trouble” and why I wouldn’t throw the ball anymore. It’s so sad, thankfully he’s doing a lot better

Hi Ryland and Lizzie love the podcast! Lizzie I experienced something similar with my Great Dane/Belgian Malinois who like Icky and Bobo is my giant baby. He had a shoulder injury and was on limited mobility for months. It was so difficult but we made it through thankfully we also both work from home and we were able to maintain his energy levels. I would recommend talking to your vet about sedatives if he starts to get a little stir crazy we got some from his bone and joint specialist and I didn't use them often but they helped us when he got impatient and really tried to instigate play. It's going to feel like it's taking a lifetime and there may be some set backs but y'all will get through. Wishing you all the luck and healing Vibes! ❤❤❤
lizzy I am a full grown 50 year old with no longer a uterus. ( hysterectomy last year) and I still say it's not my fault I'm pregnant all the time. 😂I have 30 year old Twins. Lizze- you might have calcium build ups on your eye sockets. If they are hard but go away they might just be that, my mother used to get them and she would have little bean size lumps in her wrists that would come and go (not a doctor lmao, just my first thought)
My husband looks 1000 times hotter now than he is when I met him at 24 and he was hot back then! We are both in our 40’s now and we don’t look like we used to but man! This man of mine! He does work out 5 days a week and while he’s not shredded, he’s strong in more than one way. All that he is, physically, mentally and spiritually, is what matters to me.
I appreciate that there is always a podcast right at my lunch hour so I can sit back and eat my food and sip my drink. *awhh* thank you haha!

A lot of western doctors just look at the problem (your eye in this case) & see it's fine but doesn't like at your whole body to see if anything beyond your eye is causing the issues. hope this helped even a litte, love you both !!
Lizze the bumps are the after effect of having a stye! We got one on the same eye at the same time (I was at Disney world and you were at Disney land with Ryland) crazy lol but it will go away! Mine did after having them for a bit. Hope you see this so you don’t keep worrying!

So agree with Lizzie. You have to not sit on the anxious feelings because all that does is spiral out of control and being honest is always right. Being fearful of having open communication is something you have to get over. You have to trust your partner. Without the truth, your mind will lie to you constantly and create situations that might not even be real.
That’s why no one should support the inhumane breeding of French bulldogs. It’s disgusting and most end up with a life of suffering

I rescued My Frenchie and he was completely paralyzed (had a wheelchair, shout out to Eddie’s wheels) and I was able to get him to walk again with no surgery. I still need to express his bladder for him but he is a happy boy.
Omg the exact same thing happened to my dog Lizzie but my dog is weenie. He also didnt understand why he was “in trouble” and why I wouldn’t throw the ball anymore. It’s so sad, thankfully he’s doing a lot better

Hi Ryland and Lizzie love the podcast! Lizzie I experienced something similar with my Great Dane/Belgian Malinois who like Icky and Bobo is my giant baby. He had a shoulder injury and was on limited mobility for months. It was so difficult but we made it through thankfully we also both work from home and we were able to maintain his energy levels. I would recommend talking to your vet about sedatives if he starts to get a little stir crazy we got some from his bone and joint specialist and I didn't use them often but they helped us when he got impatient and really tried to instigate play. It's going to feel like it's taking a lifetime and there may be some set backs but y'all will get through. Wishing you all the luck and healing Vibes! ❤❤❤

lizzy I am a full grown 50 year old with no longer a uterus. ( hysterectomy last year) and I still say it's not my fault I'm pregnant all the time. 😂I have 30 year old Twins. I randomly text my husband and say can you stop and get pizza or whatever on your way home I'm pregnant.. I've been doing it for years and years..lol 😂😂

Lizze- you might have calcium build ups on your eye sockets. If they are hard but go away they might just be that, my mother used to get them and she would have little bean size lumps in her wrists that would come and go (not a doctor lmao, just my first thought)

My husband looks 1000 times hotter now than he is when I met him at 24 and he was hot back then! We are both in our 40’s now and we don’t look like we used to but man! This man of mine! He does work out 5 days a week and while he’s not shredded, he’s strong in more than one way. All that he is, physically, mentally and spiritually, is what matters to me.
