Incredible build I would personally do a white glossy finish for the wood To match with the artwork and protect the wood below it Exact built i had in mind But yours is quiite thicc I'am doing also a build with the help of a carpenter Much thinner at around 4cm thick Solid piece of wood with rectange routing for the wiring and board with the layout drilled on top No plexi for me unfortunately didn't have much luck with it quite hard to drill by hand I would like to hear your opinion about those buttons Compared to sanwa or sanwa like button if u tried some
I didn't really like the Sanwas I've tried (OBSF-24mm), they felt too light and the travel was too short (compared to keyboard switches, which I'm used to because I'm also a mechanical keyboard hobbyist). Same with Qanba Gravities, the short travel was hard for me to get used to, especially when using it for movement (Korean backdashing) in Tekken which is my main fighting game. I think the 30mm Gamerfingers are amazing. They're quiet, they're customizable (with 3-pin switches), they have a similar feel to keyboards, and they're easy to install. The only real problem with them is that they are extremely expensive. The build quality feels cheap though, because they are a smaller manufacturer than Samducksa and Qanba. However, one of the other big drawbacks is that even though you can use other keyboard switches, they tend to pop out of the button base because the metal contacts in the base want thick pins like Cherry MX buttons (they come with Cherry MX Speed Silver anyway). If you use switches from other manufacturers with thin metal pins (like Akko or Outemu), they will not fit snugly into the metal contacts and can pop out occasionally, which is very annoying to deal with. If you want a more affordable substitute, I can wholeheartedly recommend Punk Workshop buttons and Sitong buttons, both of which I've also tried. 24mm Gamerfingers suck, in my opinion. They squeak (because of the way their keycaps touch the button base), and the build quality is just bad, compared to Samducksa SDB-202 or SDB-203. Don't get them, they're expensive even though they suck. My personal recommendation for buttons would be: 1. Samducka SDB-202 or SDB-203 (only problem is that they're hard to get, order from Istmall if you're in Asia and Focus Attack if you're in the Americas) 2. Punk Workshop (easy to find, feels good, very affordable) 3. Sitong (very affordable) 4. Qanba Gravity (if you're fine with the short travel)
