    Du Ier siècle au IIIe siècle, un bourg s'est développé à l'emplacement de l'actuelle Abbaye-aux-Hommes à proximité d'une voie romaine reliant Augustodurum (Bayeux) à Noviomagus (Lisieux).
    La première mention de Caen se situe entre 1021 et 1025. En 1042-1043 ou 1047-1048, le puissant duc de Normandie, Guillaume le Bâtard (futur Guillaume le Conquérant), réunit un concile près de Caen pour établir la Trêve de Dieu en Normandie.

    grande eccellentissimo infinito Aristide Cavaillé-coll , GRAZIE!!! senza di Te non avremmo avuto nulla…… i grandi maestri compositori e gli esecutori… sono ovvieta', nozionismo inutile, eh?..... e invece la nostra è riconoscenza come per Pascal, il Grande PAsTEUR, e tutti coloro che Dio , nella sua misericordia ci ha inviati…..e tra questi Louis Vierne!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ...ma Dio é il creatore dell'infinito….. che si sappia , che si sappia!!! e celebrate e mettete i manifesti…. io , pazzo , lo faccio, ogni giorno.

    Thanks for this amazing organ playing. I was only familiar with the performance of Cochereau (the integral Vierne symphonies) where he used a lot of chamade and very close recorded. This perfomance is much more cathedral like and tastefully done. Thanks again.

    Las líneas bajas y el maravilloso uso del pedal,me conmueven y pienso que Marie-Claire Alain,fue una de las mayores intérpretes de órgano del siglo XX.

    @paradoxicus Efecetivamente!! Gracias por comentar y echarles un vistazo colega!!!! Ella es la unica sobreviviente actualmente de una generacion de musicos destacados, alumna de Marcel Dupre, su ejecucion a memoria de todas las obras la hacen muy especial y destacada. La obra de Loui Vierne se acerca mas al Romanticismo y el art Nouveu de transicion del siglo 19 y 20. La linea melodica sigue de derecha a izquierda y culmina el tema en el grave con un dramatismo poetico musical, Un Saludo!!!

    Greatest Bach player of all time. Listen to her performances on record from churches in Sweden.

      ..I had the wonderful experience of hearing her perform an all Bach programme for the Tri Centennial in Seattle back in 1985 at St Mark's Cathedral on the massive 4 manual Flentrop there. Was able to attend reception and she signed my programme.

      Definitely agree about music needed to be able to breathe. Example: Bach Fantasia in G Minor (from BWV 542) which is noticeably more dramatic when played at a less hurried pace.

      @@samsiklas8088 Hi Sam - perfect example. That Fantasia is such a great journey through the world of music, itself!
      The fugue is difficult enough without the speed! Sit back, play, enjoy and take it in for all of its glory!!!
      Virgil Fox was always focused on the "singer" in the playing of the organ - our "natural" instrument can be used as a guide through all other areas of the art. I believe that is the reason Westminster Choir College produced some of the finest players in the history of organ music. Blessings - - - GM!
