Really good podcast guys. Just a couple of points: 1 - completely agree with the Haris Rauf death bowling overs discussion. I have been saying this for a very long time! In the 2019 T20 World Cup YK identified Umar Gul as the best death bowler in the team (possibly in the world at that point). And where was he bowling? 13th, 15th, 17th and 19th overs. That is half of the reason why we won that World Cup in my opinion. Still remember is amazing 5 for 6 against the kiwis! 2- The PCB (and the fans) need to persist with Saim just like the kiwis have persisted with Fin Allen. Aaj dekho woh hunaarey khilaaf kya kar rha hai. Saim will fail in some games but that is the nature of the beast. When he comes off he will win matches single handedly! And that no one runs in that family joke was so funny. I’m still laughing even after the video has finished. Pure class 👏🏽

Well guys I may sound a bit old school but when a batter makes it to international cricket he must be able to play both seamers and spinners well . We just cannot let Azam get away just because his ‘entry point’ wasn’t good . Same for Ifti . They must be able to play well against both alike . What if Azam comes to the crease and the opposition holds back the spinners (Kane did this in 1st match when he saved Sodhi’s over) then what ? He must be able to play seamers well . Period .
T20 me aik anchor hona chaie but babar can do both anchor + hitter but he need someone on other end. When rizwan play fast babar also play good similarly babar enjoys batting with fakhar
With regard to Zaman , his spot is almost guaranteed for WT20 . That’s why he didn’t get a game so far and it was better to try Jamal or Abbas Afridi just to check them out . And in the process we got Abbas Afridi as someone who bowls well in the death .
NZ are a very good team. Conway, Mitchell, Williamson, Matt Henry, Santner, Boult, Peak Southee, Rachin - These players will easily walk into most teams. Now, consider that their 5-6 major players are prepping for Australia and South Africa test series. Jamieson, Ferguson, Will Young, Tom Latham, Rachin.
I think the thing that does help you to win matches more than catches is creating chances Same happened in australia, they had some half chances as well which they couldn’t capitalise on but they created more opportunities and grabbed them, ultimately that led them to being victorious in all 3 matches the more chances you create the better shot you have at winning
