    I did a tour of Devon in September 1995 [guess that was probably before your time]. I had a boat trip from Totnes to Dartmouth, followed by a ride on a real steam train to Paignton.
    I was never able to find out what minerals cause those very red rocks. Redness in rocks is usually iron, but these seem the wrong shade of red [too dark].

    A very nice video, thanks for sharing. What's not to like amazing waterfalls, lush green magical forest walks and a couple of fairies ❤

    Loved this video J&J 👍🏻😃- those waterfalls looked wonderful but those slippery paths to it! 😱one false move!
    Have been to Devon many times but had not “heard” about the places you visited 🙁 do not know why…. 🤔
    I went on a “school journey” to Paignton in 1968, when I was about 8 or 9 - the trip took ages on a coach, travelling from Woolwich on the A30!
    The two places that we visited that I most remember, was a trip to Buckfast Abbey, a Benedictine monastery that was formed in 1018 - the obligatory history lesson about the Abbey and the question and answer sheets to prove we had all been listening… 😬😖 formed most of the day
    And…a visit to the Dartmoor Otter Sanctuary which was much more fun and exciting! After the trip to the otter sanctuary, we stopped on Dartmoor to explore the flora, fauna and marshes. me, being the class clown (and idiot) was dared to jump over one of the marshy bogs were were supposed to be “studying”. Always up for a challenge, I did a fast run up to the bog ready to leap over it, but slipped on the sodden grass and went feet first, up to the top of my legs, into a wet and very muddy hole. I had to be pulled out of the mud by a very unimpressed Games Teacher and was carried literally dripping wet with green slime and mud back to the coach. plastic bags were put on the coach seat and floor and I was told to sit still and NOT MOVE 😡 and had to remain wearing my smelly and sodden wet trousers and filthy dirty anorak for the journey back to the hotel. I was carried out of the coach by the same Games Teacher and stood down in the car park, who then wrapped me in a towel and removed my clothing, whilst tutting and shaking her head at me. There was no sympathy, no “are you okay, did you hurt yourself?” Just the titters and smirks of my class chums, at me getting into trouble! A lesson learned that afternoon! 😂

      The gorge walk was definitely precarious in places! We would be lying if we said we didn’t laugh at your story. When things like that happen to us we always say how we will be laughing about it in a few months 🤣

    What a lovely adventure, frogs 🐸 & waterfalls , and beautiful views. Did you lads overlook the rather large sign, that showed rather large , menacing snakes 🐍 🐍 🐍 ? Hopefully, they we’re off on holiday, else where.
    A vlog , wouldn’t be a JJ Extra vlog , without coffee ☕️ ☕️, it appears you enjoyed it. Also notice you partook in some Willys , always love a good Willy , as you do. 😉🫢😬😂

    😂👍Yes parts of Devon are still Wild and Prehistoric. Apparently there are still Stone Age People living in the more isolated spots on Dartmoor.

    The waterfalls are stunning! I do the clotted cream then the jam. You had a great trip!

    • @M1OOOUK
      @M1OOOUK 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @janewatt683 Hi Jane: Good on you, as that’s the proper way - clotted cream first, then topped with jam. In Cornwall, their cream is less clotted and more runny, which is why the Cornish Cream Tea is jam first, cream on top. The best, of course, is the Devonshire Cream Tea!
