    I fell asleep halfway through lol. Thank you so much for the information. A local supply shop salesman I called couldn't come close to touching this topic they way you have.

    Great tips, I just acquired some nice tooling, which included indexable round bar holders.The tip on not over tighting the set screws and listening to for the ring sounds was most helpful, Thx, Bear in Tx.

    Thanks for this super boring video! I bought a silent bar after watching your last boring video to do internal deep grooving. Hard to believe it works as well as it does.

      Thanks! Sorry the footage cut out at the end, it seems 1 clip was corrupted at the end unfortunately. If this video does well maybe we will do a part 2 with footage of different scenarios and actual cutting.

      Thanks for putting this info out there. Jam packed with info and tips! For someone like me who is looking to get into CNC, these videos are greatly appreciated by me (and I'm sure others as well)

    My wife probably wonders why I'll actively seek out boring videos.
    She'll never understand... but seriously, great video, super helpful!

    Really curious how the damper boring bar actually works. Gonna have to look it up after I get bored of this video. 😅 Loved the information. Thanks dude!

    Love the video. Carbide bars are a real day saver with small diameters. I wanna see the end of the video. I was really into it.

    Great video. I'm struggling with machining some 304 stainless. I like the trick of splitting the blocks. I'll try that.

    I know tungsten boring bars is a density 18.3g/cc

    i agree with you completely but as a hobby machinist its hard to justify any expensive tooling and a 3200 buck tool for a hobbiest is unobtainablei will say the 3200 buck sandvic tool from sandvik could be sold to you for less than 500 bucks but sanvik and the other tool manufacturers are price gouging because they know big volume machine companies will pay the price and pass the cost onto the customer

    Can someone please explain what he meant by a "wiper insert"?

    • @DKNguyen3.1415
      @DKNguyen3.1415 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a feature that is added that is specifically designed to rub the material after the cut has been made. It's placed on the insert at a place where after the cut is made, the aerea that was just cut will encounter the wiper on the next rotation. You can think of it like a carefully designed lack of clearance. You can just use google and all this comes up.

      Ask your tooling rep or even the dreaded MSC and they will send you a free trial wiper insert. They are great in some situations IMHO.
