Sound on! Toyota brought the upcoming Toyota/Lexus GR GT3 race car to europe and did a first test in Spa-Francorchamps. The new GT3 has been tested in japan before and this is the first time that they start testing the new prototype for the 2026/2027 racing season.
My TH-cam Channel CarSpyMedia focuses on high quality car spy videos that only show the model mentioned in the title. I do not show any scenes twice and therefore want to stand out from other spy video channels.

V8 sound, super long hood, super wide and low body, HELL YEAH
Reminds me the SLS GT3
Looks a bit like the zakspeed dodge viper
its the new Z4 GTR
it also sounds to me like it has a hybrid system with the electrical whine noises
@@opulan more of a straight cut grears sound to me
Supra: dead by 2026
GR GT3: born 2026
Coincidence? I think not!
One is a disgusting half-breed, the other is a pure Japanese beast. Lexus is only fixing Toyota's mistake...
The price will be unobtainable for 99,99 % of us 👎
@@yousef.al-assaf - "One is a disgusting half-breed" - with extensive motorsport credentials, some of which personally done by chairman Akio Toyoda at the wheel. It also won championships (DTM Trophy and Formula D).
"Lexus is only fixing Toyota's mistake..." - not quite, sir. They made the Supra in collaboration with BMW to make it somewhat attainable. Besides, fans seem to forget just how bad the situation was for the A80 model at the time it was sold new (they criticized it for deviating a lot form its predecessor).
@@pmayo7894 True. If Toyota had to develop a new V6 or I6 just for the Supra, it probably would be more expensive.
Yep, probably a new gen Supra

God maybe i will save my house deposit for this instead LOL
hello : )
Nah you should just save up for the M3 GT-R project
Nah just make more money
Get an LFA instead. That'll hold its value too.

When Toyota builds a motorsports-oriented sports car under the "GR" brand, it first creates an ideal racing car for the category in which the car will be entered, and then develops a racing car in line with that ideal. In developing this car, we are aiming for a "Lethal Weapon of the GT3 regulations" that surpasses the Mercedes-AMG GT3. In fact, Toyota has purchased an AMG GT3 and is racing it in the Super Taikyu series in Japan, keeping in mind that the drivers in charge of testing can easily compare the two cars, which shows the seriousness of the project.
Their Rookie Racing team running the AMG GT3 got 1st place in the recent round of Super Taikyu Fuji 24 hours.
AMG GT3 was kept in mind as a benchmark. I am super excited to see what Toyota comes up with! I am already in love with the car. Can't wait!
@@aaronbryan5095 - twice in a row.
This car is actually almost identical in shape and dimensions to the Mazda RX-Vision GT3.
What's more, the two companies are rumored to be working together on a car that can run on gasoline, synthetic fuels, and hydrogen.
It also completely undermines the spirit of GT3; in that it’s a road car based formula. You make a road car, then tune it up and body kit it to go racing. Just ask Porsche.
Please Toyota, I know I'm but a simple poor man, but at least make a production version.
They will, it will be badged as Lexus as a successor to the LFA.
no need to ask, it's mandatory for them to race
@@tomwatts9822 I still remember when Honda made their HSV for the public that was so cool.
Edit: the HSV was never made for public. Which is the point.
@@electrikoptik I'm aware of the Lexus but I'm asking specifically for a Toyota. Not a rebadged hybrid that looks different.
They won’t.
I get Dodge Viper vibes from design though behind camouflage.
Agreed. Although a sharper, more angular version. The Dodge Viper has always been one of my favorite car designs since childhood
That's generally the look you get by being a front mid-engined car.
You get this really long hood with the driver cockpit far at the back. The Viper, SLS, & AMG GT3 all got similar looking proportions because of this.
@@AbrahamArthemius Honda HSV/unreleased true 2nd gen NSX also had such.
@@Kacpa2 Heck, i will add cars from the 60s like the E-type & 2000GT as well .
@@AbrahamArthemius
Exactly. People forget that this started with the likes of the 2000GT wayyy back
It's literally a modernized LFA. Look at the styling and the lights. It's the new LFA, or LFR or whatever they call it.
Yup, a true successor. Only a beast can be a successor for the LFA.
LFAGR
“LFR” should be saved for a more mass produced vehicle. This should be named “LFX” (X as in ApeX, like the LFA) or something.
But isn't LFA a rear-engined car?
@@chenyeanmingtakumi9033Negative.
I knew this was coming! Ford showed theirs a couple days ago then BMW yesterday. The new generation races are going to be freaking amazing. The Mustang cameo was nice.
That V8 sound 🤤🤤
For the love of God. That engine sound is soothing to my ears.
This is what the new AMG GT should have been instead we got a bloated 2+2 config. AWD mess of a car. Also, considering this is a Toyota, it most definitely has better build quality than any of it's Mercedes equivalent.
you must live in a different reality
@Verybadbiker nope he’s right, Toyota has superior build quality than any of the Mercedes on sale today
German car manufacturers have mostly lost the plot, from feature subscriptions, ugly designs, and engine downsizing. I laugh when Mercedes has to back track their 4 cyl hybrid on the CLE63 because nobody buys the C63 without the V8
@@Verybadbiker Have you even been in a modern Mercedes product from the last couple of years? Sure doesn't seem like it...
Better build quality, no. Good Yes
The Ford GTD Toyota GT3 GR and the Porche GT3 RS.. I can see where thisnis all going 😌🥰🙏🏽
Going that fast in the wet in insane. Also i love the sound of those straight cut gears 👌🏻
This car is everything!
I think this is gonna be a Lexus if gone mass production. There was an ad from Lexus showing of their new hybrid, and this car looks very close to it
I can already tell this is more than I can afford.
Cool Viper
Ahhhh what a sexy sound. Corvette, Dodge, do you hear that?
Those downshifts are brutal
Sounds great too
TOYOTA & LEXUS ❤️🔥👍
It would make sense if they release it as both the Toyota and Lexus, like Soarer/SC twins in 1991
Viper meets LFA.
SLS GT3 vibe 😍
With higher rpm
Toyota is kicking of the next decade pretty hardcore like damn. Im not usually a toyota guy but they have my full attention rn.
Love it !!
Sound ❤❤
Got a bit of a Dodge Viper/Mercedes GT shape to it.
Man that’s a sharp looking ride. Hitting those apex’s ones the WET looking like it was AWD…. Man she can handle. Is there going to be a Lexus model based off this test mule?
It is. The LFA's successor
New GR GT3 but what you are really looking at is a test bed for next Lexus sports coupe and drivetrain a Twin Turbo V8
Yup, the "LFR".
Japanese Viper, love it.
Sounds like the 5.0 V8 from the Lexus RC GT3. Maybe this was the base, because the Lexus GT3 is an old car by now. This will be their new flagship with the known reliable engine.
She bangs she bangs she moves she moves.
LOVE IT. reminds me of the lexus sc400
Engine configuration and sound reminds me of sls amg!
Now we want to see the new mazda rx7 equivalent to bring back the Japanese jewels on wheels
WHO WAS DRIVING?!?? That was some beautiful driving. 1:54 was amazing, can't believe they kept traction.
I'm SO excited to see this car.
Wet line
If this car is going to run in the GT classes, it will need to be homologated. Very good sign for the car going into production. Hopefully, it remains N/A. Turbos boost power and torque, but they muffle the exhaust note. A N/A engine will always sound better than it turbocharged counterpart.
The road legal version (Lexus "LFR") will be a TTV8 hybrid. 900-950 HP according to rumors.
Betting it will use the new Century badge brand
WOW ❤
Somehow it reminds me of Mclaren Mercedes SLR
Eso es un V8 ATMOSFÉRICO..
It looks like it is wider than the Mustang and just as long. I was hoping this car was going to be smaller. It has a low bonnet and roof line though.
It looks and feels of a Mercedes AMG GT3
better than AMG GT and ferrari 12 cilindli
Cap
I LOV IT! YEAH BUT! Is it based on a production car? NOPE! I LOVE IT ANYWAY!!!
Remind me of Dodge Viper.
When I heard the exhaust noise, I knew it was a crossplane.
Hopefully this isn’t a Honda HSV type deal
It won't as GT3 regs require a minimum number of road-going examples to be built for sale.
I highly doubt this will be marketed as a Supra. More than likely a Lexus.
楽しみにしてる
I know this is a Lexus but I hope we get some sort of Toyota variation, that’s maybe not as nice on the inside and is somewhat less expensive to produce, but doesn’t necessarily have all the bells and whistles but retains basic things like sharing the chassis and engine. So that maybe people like us can afford this car in some form.
Like the SC300 and Mark IV Supra even though the MK4 was still expensive for its time. I can already tell the tech in this car is too good to be locked behind the Lexus badge
According to Japanese news, plans for GT3 and commercial version
The price is more than 300,000 yen.
This is going to slot above the supra most likely
I just hope it isn’t heavy! Needs to weigh similarly to the SLS (3500ish lbs).
Saw a article about the car saying it is aimed for it to weigh 1300kg
@@alex.c9524 that would be FANTASTIC. It’s definitely NOT impossible, but this is Lexus we’re talking about. I hope you/the article are correct.
if this car sounds like that trackside, imagine onboard
Sounds like SLS...
Looking at its Front-Mid engined hood, it is more likely a new gen Supra or LC (or their successor), probably not next gen LFA or MR-2
Holy shit.
Looks like lexus is coming after mercedes amg
My dad and i theorized that with cadillac coming to hypercar gm is working on a halo car to reinvent the brand into a luxury performance brand like amg, ferrari, koenigsegg etc.
An american luxury hypercar/supercar. While chevrolet will be the regular guys car. The the vette will be the poor mans supercar.
This looks like lexus wants to position itself where amg is in a similar way towards luxury performance vehicles.
A Dodge Viper?
昔LFAがデビュー前もこんな感じだったね。もう出るぞ。
Its giving aston martin/mercedes amg gt vibe
Very nice. anybody know when will it be released?
V8 5リッターぐらい?
This should be Lexus GT3 replacement of the RCF.
It will be
Wowwwwww
Is this the new LFA? 😮
Since I'm poor, I'll keep my ISF.
Sounds like an AMG
guessing a tt crossplane v8 with straight cut gears. please tell me it's going to be the next supra or a new lexus lfa successor
A Japanese car magazine scooped that the GR-GT3 has no chance of being marketed😢
Why? Is it only for their racing division? Because western articles mpwere mentioning that Lexus will make a road legal version of this
They are wrong, road going version has already been spotted.
Who are the racers involved in current development?
Kinda looks like an amg imo
I’m curious about the engine.
It’s either a crazy variant of the 2urgse V8 or it’s a brand new motor….im hoping for the latter🤞
Its a TTV8
A new motor. Probably 4.0 or 4.4 L, not the 2UR-GSE's 5.0
And most likely not an 1-UZ
Sound like crossplane v8
looks like v8 LFA
Dude, it's 2024 now, 2026 is in two years 🤣
Ford tendrá que hacer una evolución del Mustang o cambiarlo por el GT 40
What ever it is, its sounds pretty great.... turbo V8?
Yup
Great! No more BMW junk!
well 1JZ and 2JZ Engine Co Devloped by Yamaha so it's not 100% Toyota even Supra MK4 Manual Gearbox it's German.
@@Diabonto not true, that's become an urban myth. Yamaha however did the exhaust for the LFA. At the end of the day it's not overpriced BMW junk.
@BlackHawkPSU yeah but they Co devloped LFA so Toyota without Yahama or Subaru or BMW Can't make sport car they only good at only realiblity I owned IS 300 and I raced with e36 that car beat my car so I sold it and i bought BMW E30 it's better than Lexus. Toyota are not good in Making sport cars, I guess you never owned bmw that's why you saying bmw junk 😉
@@Diabonto Now I see why you are trying to spread the urban myth about Yamaha and the 2JZ, you're a BMW guy that got offended. :) That's hilarious to equate tuning the exhaust to co developing the LFA. That's like saying Bridgestone co developed the LFA because they supplied the tires. BMW is overpriced junk. I have experience with BMW, Mercedes and Audi. They are all money pits. BorgWarner and Harman/Kardon co-developed many BMW's :)
@@BlackHawkPSU search about 2jz and Yamaha my friend
Put a Toyota made inline-6 in it and call it a Supra.
How it always should have been instead of the MK5 Zupra.
the Mk5 supra should've shared the platform with the LC500 with toyota's own inline 6 engine
Lc500 platform is way too heavy. That’s why they’re making this in the first place.
The best your gonna get is a rebadged toyo using a Mazda I6.
Yes i-6 but in the IS like the years past Altezza
wish toyota would make an i6 again, but toyota v8's never disappoint
I'm 100% that they'll never make it...but imagine...what if...they made an actual Toyota FT-1 version on this platform....
"I'm 100% that they'll never make it..." - they actually are.
Besides, GT3 regs require them to build a minimum number of road-going examples for homologation purposes.
@@pmayo7894 As the Lexus though. Would be nice to see it as an actual FT-1 like the original concept that became the somewhat disappointing BMW Supra
With it face, 👿
Toyota viper?
The exhaust sounds… very unaffordable. 😢
It'll be renamed for europe
How much are we guessing this will cost? $120k? $160k? $220k? $450k? Regardless I suspect it will be extremely limited in quantity so we should figure at least another 50% in cost
if it really is meant to compete with the likes of AMG GT and AM Vantage (with similar V8 TT specs), prices should hover around 140-160k. Lexus may price it more competitively as they have done with other models when compared with other manufacturers. I don't see this going north of 200k.
Mercedes Benz SLS ➕️ Dodge Viper = Toyota GR GT3
Parece pesado
Mazda to Toyota
It’s a hybrid.
Nope, on the race car at least.
Sounds like V6 hybrid
Not hybrid. The other part of the noise came from the transmission.
You guys sure this is not a Viper 😂
Its basically just a Japanese AMG GT 🤷🏼♂
But better
V8??
Doesn't looks like a knock off Mercedes GTR GT3? LOL or perhaps same formula as the A90/91 Supra? Benz/Toyota collaboration??? at least for the street car to save some production cost?
it's definitely taking the amg/viper style long hood approach and using the amg gtr as a benchmark. as far as i know it's 100% toyota/lexus and meant to replace the rcf in wec
エンジンはV8だね。
これのベース車両がNEW2000GTな訳?
Guys stop simping its a 2uz motor at it can be found in several lexus F products basicaly this is just going to be at best an rcf replacement
