      Freethoughtblogs is the natural outcome of atheism.

    • @Skylancer727
      @Skylancer727 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@tarstarkusz This isn't really atheism, it's more the left eating itself much like the right has been. It's not hard to see that both parties have drastically drifted towards the edges. Now instead of attacking the opposing side they are attacking the people closer to the center to themselves. You can see this on the left with SJWs throwing out anyone less than 100% siding with them and on the right where they try and shut down anything less than 100% from having a voice. Hell I'm pretty sure I remember Thunderf00t doing a video on the Shapiro interview where he basically called a right wing European an SJW for saying there should be any exceptions on abortion laws at all even if only in the case of death of the parent.
      This effect is the whole reason we got Trump in the first place. The left was shifting left, they voted Bernie, Hillary paid out the DMC from bankruptcy winning due to supper delegates, and Bernie supporters refused to vote for her letting Trump win. That's the whole reason the voter turn out for 2016 was so low. Trump is just the example of the right doing the same thing but by suppressing voices as to not spread. The left for some reason is instead trying to scream extremist concepts in the hopes of overshadowing the more central ideas. Considering the title for their page it's clear this is the case.

    • @tarstarkusz
      @tarstarkusz 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Sky... You have to ask yourself why atheism attracts such a high percentage of far left loons in the first place. The answer to that is fundamentally atheism attracts people who do not (or cannot) follow the rules of religion and people who oppose Christianity on ideological grounds. That is fundamentally what this is all about. This is why they are always kvetching about the rules and standards of Christianity. The like to dress up atheism as "science" or "skepticism" or "free thought" and other nice sounding and self-congratulatory words, but what it all comes down to is that Christianity cramps their style.
      Shapiro is a liar and a fraud and so I really couldn't care less what anyone says about him. Abortion should be outlawed and abortionists thrown into prison.
      The reason we got Trump has nothing to do with the left. The reason we got Trump is because of the move to the left of the GOP at the party level and the talking heads and supposedly right wing journalists. They are indistinguishable on most issues from the average Democrat. The GOP base is way to the right of the party apparatchiks. A bunch of neocons and cucks. The second the base had a chance to vote on the issues, they chose Trump. But the swamp has kept Trump mired in one fake controversy after another.

    • @Skylancer727
      @Skylancer727 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@tarstarkusz That's not at all why atheists are so far on the left. The reason they are is because atheist moral systems are built around humanism, a more left leaning concept. Because of this, many atheists claim to be a moral high ground or more moral than the people of the Bible and call out the evils in the Bible including what God supposedly does claiming what he is doing is evil based on humanistic mean. Because of this, it by default puts them with the left.
      Abortions for example is a part of that. I bet you didn't even realize the Bible directly says how to commit an abortion if you think your wife was unfaithful (Numbers 5:11). I tend to agree that abortions are abominable but they are necessary in this world (basically a necessary evil). How am I supposed to tell someone to die for their child and they don't get a choice in the matter, why should I force a family to pay to raise a child that likely won't live more than a week, why should we let rape victims suffer for being attacked, etc? You may say "the odds of any of those cases is less than 1%" but remember that there are over half a million abortions a year in the US. Less than 1% is still over 10,000 cases. No one should be forced to go through any of these by the law.
      I do agree that abortion with no excuses is a horrific thing, but it's not like it's always intended. Many states aren't required to teach kids about contraceptives, some even openly shame people at the store by having them in lock boxes and an alarm for it to be opened alerting everyone in the room. It's not like I have the right to tell every 18 year old who doesn't have a job "this is your fault, have fun being broke for the rest of your life". Or what about people who were in a decent relationship but after getting pregnant say the man becomes aggressive, bails, or gets arrested? It's not gonna be as easy for her to move on with a child. She likely will struggle more to afford and handle the child making it suffer with her.
      Now some argue these are non-issues as they can just put them up for adoption. But let's be serious here, that's not the answer. There are nearly 200,000 children put up for adoption a year and not all will be adopted. Saying that is the answer is laughable. More than 3 times as many are aborted a year and not all 200,000 are adopted a year now. That means we will be making a net positive of children who will never grow up with parents as there is no way they can all be adopted.
      Back to the atheists though, following morals of Christianity has nothing to do with it. Matt (the guy they just ousted from FTB) was a priest in training and an avid supporter of the church for most of his life until he started to question why he believed. He went to the Bible and prayer to find the answers but the more he looked for God the less he saw him. This is why they exist. Once the magic words "just believe" start to fade by you, you realize there is very little holding you to it and the more you realize the Bible says some cruel and audacious things.
      And like I said, Trump didn't win because it's what people wanted. We can see the statistics from 2016 today. Just slightly more than half of registered Democrats voted in 2016 and a low turn out in independents as well. Republicans was about the same as 2008. This is a mix of people saying that Hillary was guaranteed to win so they didn't vote and people pissed Bernie didn't win the primaries so they didn't vote making Trump win by default. We have the numbers today and we know what happened. There is a reason why the DNC had to vow to remove super delegates powers for 2020, people still held a grudge.

They see the scales tip slightly toward the direction they don't like. A sane response to this would be moving the weight slightly toward the opposite side a little at a time until balance has been reached. These guys however grab all the weight and move it to the opposite side then threaten anyone that points out how stupid of a reaction that was.

If we are not looking for the best of the best, we can add ton of limitation about drug use, sex, gender, height, weight, colour of eyes, but it is kind missing the point of finding the actually best. I occasionally read/comment on FtB, but I've noticed a couple of things that bother me.
    First of all, if a celebrity/politician does something inappropriate, and apologizes, the apology is never good enough. It is taken apart line by line, and interpreted in whatever negative way possible. eg. Louis C.K. says something to the effect of "I'm sorry", and people complain that he's saying "Me, me, me,...". I remember reading one that I thought was a good apology, but no, PZ and others deemed it unsatisfactory. There was even one incident where PZ initially thought an apology was okay, but then changed his mind, probably after a few people commented. I commented on this recently, suggesting an experiment where the next time a celebrity apologizes, he should post the fictional apology that he would have written instead of the real one, and see if his apology is accepted by the other FtB, or if it is torn apart as unsatisfactory.
    Secondly, as you mentioned, questioning or disagreeing with the politically correct opinion, is not tolerated. If you question, "not punching down", how they deliberately distorted an apology, or cultural appropriation, and you'll be hit with a lot of emotion about why you are wrong, but very little in terms of reasoned debate.

    The ACA's treatment of Rationality rules lost me as a supporter. During their podcasts, they would often state that the only core belief all Atheists share is they don't believe in a god. But when RR had a different opinion on something not related to Atheism, they called him transphobic and exiled him for having a different opinion. They would always take the opportunity to point out when a theist was being a hypocrite for not practicing what they preach, but couldn't see themselves doing the exact same thing. It was especially disgusting since what RR said wasn't even close to being transphobic or hateful. He was just (respectfully) pointing out an issue that needed to be discussed as the current system was creating an unfair playing field for biological women.

    Regarding Bathrooms/toilets.
    No, keep them separate. Main reason being urinals. I don't have a problem with people seeing what I have, but I'm in a minority there. Women can't use urinals and that's what makes it so quick for men to use the bathroom.
    Additionally, women need the bathroom more often, periods being the main issue here.

    If you're female and use testosterone to improve your sports performance, your muscles will enlarge (along with other things) but you'll NEVER be strong enough or quick enough to compete against a man of equal ability and fitness who has been producing his own testosterone since puberty!
    Female bones, muscle tissue, heart and lungs are smaller and lighter than that of males and develop toward different goals, thanks to evolution. And evolution doesn't care whether you win a 100-yard dash or clear a high-jump. Evolution is not 'woke'. Evolution is focused on only one goal: reproduction.
    Gender is (for the most part) irrelevant in chess competitions and target-shooting, events that don't require raw strength and speed as much as attitude, self-knowledge and eye-hand coordination. Gender is everything in events such as weightlifting and track-and-field competitions. No matter how much a male resembles a female in appearance and external genitalia, the male will always have XY chromosomes that include heavier muscle mass, denser bones, a larger heart and bigger lungs than those with XX chromosomes.
    Acknowledging that difference may be an anathema to SJWs, but they need to take it up with our thousands of ancestors who lived to have children, thanks to the benefits of XX and XY.

There was Remilia who played Thresh for the Renegades and an all-women team tried their best, but all of them were lower ranked players and way out of their league.
      There simply is not a lot of women who play the game at such an extremely high level (in League, there was this female Starcaft 2 pro if I am not mistaken, who was the first western player to beat an asian player at a mayor tournament).

    • @klaxoncow

      I was thinking about this before, and was trying to compile a list of sports that could potentially be made unisex.
      I was thinking maybe darts. Because that's a precision thing. You need enough strength to lob the dart and get it to stick into the board, but even children can do that - and it doesn't really help to throw harder, as the dart might actually bounce out if you throw with too much strength behind it.
      Then there's pool / snooker. Again, it's a precision thing. Again, too much strength is actually a potential negative - launching balls off the table - and everyone can reach the level of strength required to play the game.
      I mean, even with these, you could claim that men have generally better spatial awareness and that might provide a little "unfair advantage" in what we'll deem "precision sports" (ones that are about eye-to-hand coordination and nothing else - as has been noted, eSports is problematic because of reaction times - but this doesn't affect either darts or pool / snooker as they are turn-based games).
      Basically, conducting this little thought experiment, it seems that "pub games" are the best candidates for making unisex. And, to be honest, I have played darts and snooker / pool with women on a night out - although we were equally matched in those games, it's hard to judge because we were all shit players and slightly drunk. Don't know if that equal matching would hold at a professional level.
      Funnily, I was pondering over whether football (that is, the "soccer" version of football) could be made unisex. Because it's supposed to be a non-contact sport - so any violent physicality should earn you a red card and being sent off the pitch anyway - and though men can run faster, the thing is that it's not an outright sprint. I mean, you've got to bring the ball with you.
      Possibly not. But the more I considered that one, the more I realised that it's not actually as unlikely as I initially imagined (because, like most, I was thinking that you just had to strike all physical sports off the list).
      Basically, I'd like to put that one to the scientific test. They could perhaps have some charity "friendlies" between the women's world cup squads and some of the men's clubs in the Premier League or something.
      It's a bit like the F.A. Cup, I feel. Because, in that competition, they pit all the teams against each other, regardless of their league positions and, every once in a while, some minor team does sometimes slay Manchester United or Arsenal, against the odds.
      And what I'd be curious to see is whether "men vs. women" football would actually pan out a bit like F.A. Cup matches. Sure, the big professional men's teams mostly win - but that's more to do with being professional, raking in massive money and being able to afford the world's best players - but sometimes the small teams do get the upper hand (because the sport is more random, in practice, than some of its fans would like to admit - even despite the fact that they based a lottery "the football pools" on the basis of football results and they'd never do that if they wasn't an inherently degree of random unpredictableness about the sport, as bookies NEVER bet on odds that ain't rigged in their favour).

      This is actually somewhat inaccurate. Most people who get a PhD or remain active within the academic field are *not* the people with the absolute highest IQs. That's like arguing the highest IQs will always result in the most successful careers, which is 100% false. When it comes to claiming low IQ people not being in academic positions at all, then what's really your point indeed?? Of course they're not.
      I would also say tall people dominating basketball is really only ever half true. Plenty of tall people VERY MUCH suck at playing that game (in the 6 ft 7 range and taller). And whilst there is an obvious advantage to being closer to 7ft tall than it would be only 5 ft 3 when it comes to dunking a shot, the average height of all basketball players is actually more around 6 ft 3 or so. This is because there are advantageous heights, weights, speeds and agility for every position a basketball player can play. Some of the most valuable players in that sports on a professional level are actually like 6.6 ft (2,03m). Yes, that's still tall compare to most national averages. But again, being simply the tallest is actually no guarantee for success.

    It seems the more inclusive and accepting we try to be, the more issues of conflict of opinion start to appear. I don't think it has much to do with religion per say, but more to do with just conflict of culture; how each of us chooses to live. We seem to be heading into an upswing of nationalism right now that is quite opposed to the politically correct culture from the previous decade. And it's not hard to see why when everyone (even free-thought blogs) is getting so overwhelmed with dissenting views that they start banning innocent people because they make reference to a sensitive issue.
    Here's a spatter of current event issues to illustrate what I'm talking about:
    -sphere vs flat earth
    -pedophiles want to be lumped in with the lgbt community
    -anyone even hinting at negativity towards lgbt or the middle-eastern cultures immediately getting banned from publicity
    And the internet is making things worse because misinformation is on the rise. When the internet first became popular I was among many that applauded it for the immediate increase in productivity and knowledge at our fingertips. But now we have to spend time just verifying what we read on the internet because free-speech allows any nut to say anything and post it anywhere irregardless of how much truth there is. And confidence is more praised than being correct.

    You should do an update on the hilarious collapse of Rebecca "elevatorgate / feminist ball of rage" Watson and her "Skepchick" site since she left the only source of oxygen for her entire career, the SGU podcast. It's totally hilarious. Skepchick now gets about 1 comment a week on its whole website and is apparently now trying to raise funds on patreon by selling a "Smash the patriarchy" painting that took Amy "ban fake jewelry!" Roth literally a decade to finish. Complete lulzfest.

      There are website management utilities/services that schedule page views checking for changes.
      This can be used as part of a basic website hacking countermeasure as well as for moderation of visitor changeable areas... blogs, forums...
      This is actually a responsible practice and security services offer it as a check for page facing.
      Considering the paranoia level present on FTB attempting to squash wrong-think as quickly as possible before anyone might see it... Checking the site once every minute seems plausible.
      To check just one page would be about 40k page hits/month.
      It wouldn't take very many pages before you racked up 200k bot clicks/month without even trying to boost page clicks per se.
      Then there are web spiders and crawlers.
      If your site is hit twice a month by 100 spiders, that could contribute a couple of 10k/hits.
      Yeah... FTB is a late parrot.

    Not being into sports or never having met a trans person, perhaps aren't the greatest argument to not care much lol. The most toxic element of trans people in sports is how it destroys what these sports used to represent. Fair games, actual real achievements. If trans people want to compete, make a trans people league or something. No one will be watching that, there won't be any money in it. But don't pretend a trans used-to-be-a-man competing in women's sports is a fair thing. It's not! On top of that, there are genuine issues where a biological sex is extremely relevant to how someone is treated in a hospital. When it comes to education, better look into how some groups of people try to encourage transitions for freaking kids. Unisex sports makes absolutely no sense whatsoever to me. In most sports you'd never see a single woman get into the top 500 of best men. Unisex bathrooms make way more sense and many countries used to have them. Some smaller places still have them, where a single toilet is used by everyone. I don't see much of a problem there. If you want to stop harassment type issues, just make the toilet area a bit more open to the public, except for the actual toilet itself that's still obviously behind a door. And educate or punish the people who don't know how to behave. Speaking of islam or at least immigrants, that right there is actually a bigger problem.

    This segment from My Gimpy Life from 4:20 to 5:40 seems to illustrate being patronized pretty well. In this case being patronized for being paraplegic versus being black. I've never been paraplegic or black or trans but I suppose the sentiment would be similar.

    Fast runner 100m, 10% diff between men and women: "this not something you can do by training" (paraphrasing)
    That's probably technically correct, but not necessarily linked to men, as the data suggests:
    World record
    9.58 men in 2009
    10.60 men 1920
    So current women record is faster than men's record from 1920.

Was that just a poor choice of words? I'm not trans but I'm about your age and I've met more trans people than I can count. I also hope your empathy can extend further than just to those who you have met. Also, I can't understand why a scientific person such as yourself would keep shining a spotlight on rather dull and unimaginative groups of grudge collectors such as these.

    I've given some thought to the unisex sports idea based on what the kids from the Freedom School in "Billy Jack" called "yoga sports", where everyone competes against themself; so lifters would excel based on lifting percentages of their own mass, runners by their time/length of stride or something, like that. What do you think?
    Lastly, I started watching (and then binge-watching) just a little while after the Laughing Witch et al stuff got started, and damn, you're good at fights, Prof. Mason. When's the next one. Sorry.

  • @jesperFrost

    We do have unisex sport. You can’t find it mentioned in any rules in “male” sport that women are not allowed to participate they just never makes it above the redline and their by only men makes it on to the teams.
    So to be true we have sport and female sport, because only female sport discriminate based on gender - yeah they are soooo inclusive.

    • @mamamheus7751
      @mamamheus7751 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Do you think that only men are paedophiles? Sick women exist, and it's got *nothing* to do with being transgender. They've existed as long as male sickos. Trans people just want to be themselves, that's it. Are all of them wonderful human beings? Of course not. But neither are non-trans people. I know some trans people and I know that all they want is to be left alone to be who they feel they truly are, _without_ judgement of people who don't know anything about them. And yes, I'm a mum of both boys and girls (all adults now) and a gran of a nearly 6-yr-old girl and younger boy. Neither of them ever go into public toilets alone, and I never let my little ones go in alone, and it had little to do with being worried about other people's behaviour (and never even thought about trans people "lying in wait"). It was because they were young and needed guidance to learn a) how to use them and b) what normal behaviour is so that should they ever behave differently they could expect to have some sort of trouble arise, or have someone else behave differently, they'd know that something might be wrong. It's called education.
