What kills me is that these artists go to The Grammys, BillBoards, etc..etc.. and give their best performances. But when they go over to BET, they get messy and act like they dont care if they mess up. I believe they act like that because they feel like BET needs them and they don't need BET.

I'm a singer so I know how hard it can be to sing in such a large space. The acoustics are bad and you can barely hear yourself when you sing. Even if you rehearse it's not gonna sound the same when the room is full of people vs. empty. I think that's why everybody's singing was off.

Anthony Hamilton gave me LIFE during the tribute of the deceased artist!!! Smokey Robinson gave me a reason to just fall in love. But he read these artists and I loved it. Tom Joyner award was great. They did speak about black lives matter. Now Tamar sweating arm pits took me out. Patti brought me back with that hair and singing on point! Now Miss Janet got me right on together!!! I was expecting her to perform... Now I agree they need to do better. I was glad to see Rhianna at the awards. But that power point of her video was a mess. And I thank God that Debra Lee FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY AFTER 15 look nice. Overall it was ok. I gave it a C because of lack of togetherness. The sound wasn't checked during the actual show or the pre show. They need to take note from other successful award shows. I just need my folks to get some new life and venture for more festive ways to put the show on.

Great review! But you misspoke about of couple of things. They dedicated an entire speech to Black Lives Matter, I don't know how you missed it J! It was done by Michael B. Jordan, they had a video with images from the many protests over the past years. They even called Dillard Roof a domestic terrorist. It was well done. My fav moment of the night. Also, Patti Labelle spoke about the Supreme Court decision (similar to how Jussie did) during her performance with K & Tamar.
They weren't at the Billboard awards either. When entertainers really don't have anything going on they usually don't show up to award shows. And Terrence J cut Amber off because they were counting down to the start of the show and there wasn't any time left.
