I am biased but I think everyone should run their own full node. It helps the network and it provides you with even more security and personal verification. The cost is minimal.
I agree! But, it brings to mind something even more important. Freedom, privacy, security, wreaking the sociopathic run centralized economic system. Just for starters of course there's the whole making the world a better place. If you're into that kind of thing... I'm just sayin..
@@Hboogie182 I am not sure, probably using some type of solar set up. I run a node at my home on an old laptop and I run another node at work on an unused PC. Depends on your location but the cost is nominal for me.

I was downloading the blockchain on an old laptop and after almost 2 weeks I gave up and downloaded on my Mac with M1 chip... done within 24 hours and that was with my laptop shutting down several hours overnight because the battery died. Awesome Mac
would be nice for you to have a video where you compare, contrast the various nodes that you have done youtube videos on separately... and pick the one that you like the best and the reasons for that choice...
If I’m using a third party wallet, what’s the point in running bitcoin core? Wym trust someone else? Either way you need the transaction to be confirmed by miners so what’s the difference? I’m new to this so if you could give an in depth explanation please Thanks
I may have missed it but, when you sent the sats out of your core node, I didn't see the SW prompt for your keys...how is the wallet in your node being secured...
Well done again, thks:) one question in regards to using other wallets. Can you also choose this Bitcoin core node on your Mac if you for example use a hw cold wallet from Trezor, ledger, cold card etc? Or did I miss something:)?
Very helpful but still confused a bit. So basically just having the wallet installed, you are now running the node? Can you use your own node to transfer funds from an exchange to your wallet?
So when you store the DAT file on a USB it becomes a cold storage wallet im assuming? Also if I store the DAT file on my USB and I go to another computers node I can just load up my bitcoin and i'm good? I'm really new to this.
can you switch from downloading the whole of the transactions at first then to pruning later? i ask because i think it would be cool to save the first 500gb or something of it all (as a souvenir), but obviously dont plan to save the entirety of the network to infinity and beyond.
Can I install bitcoin core on 1 empty HD and use tails as OS?? I try and bitcoin core does not connect to any peers. When I use Linux Mint it starts to sync normally.
how do you store the 2GB version (the soft version) to your hard drive (the one with the most space) and not store it to your SSD (the one with the least amount of space) There must be an opinion that lets you put the data into a hard drive of your choice ??
I would love to see the background picture that is shown in the screen shots haha. Looks like an amazing piece of art work, any where I can view the whole thing?
i tried with tor and it didn't work. should i be worried about fakes? the logo has a cross through it when i try to download the core software. any help? thanks love this channel.
You have to join an exchange to open an account in your country probably and they'll have all your KYC. If you have the BTC, for instance you mined it, one can find an ATM or casino in another country and send the BTC to the machine for the local cash. Otherwise one would have to negotiate with the receiver to exchange something. El Salvador it's legal tender. You could convert to El Salvador"s fiat(paper) then buy dollars. Be aware many countries have alert signals for amounts converted.
Does Bitcoin Core perform mining? If not, what else do you have to download? I've also heard that there are groups that combine their computing power for mining. How do you find and join one of those?
@@dariocarnelutti6002 I've priced the Ant miners that people like to use. Ouch! Also, I can only provide a 120v supply and the UPS I use will not tolerate a 3.5Kw load. I would still need the proper software to join a pool.

Can I use BTC Core to purchase BTC or is it just for transferring?
It is just a wallet. No purchases or sales.
Hi there! Is there any reasons why you wouldnt want to do this on a computer you use for everyday stuff? Thanks!
yes for security, if you get malware you could lose your funds. if you run this, do it on a secure computer which does nothing else.
