    I have a 2011 2nd hand Sandero that is turning 10 years in June, and I have never had any issues with it. I've been doing my own service for the past 3 years. The car just needs to be well maintained and it will keep going.

    I respect that engine so much. They fitted it in the Merc A180CDi back in 2013. The cost of that car was R352K full spec. For that price today you get a Nissan Micra.

    I owned a 2007 Renault Megane 1.6 that I bought in 2014 and let go off in 2020. It probably cost me more than what I’d bought it for to replace the gearbox, engine and other mechanical or auto-electrical parts
    However, I then bought a Renault Megane RS 280 EDC Lux and average 12L/100km. I’m happy with my decision 😀😀😀.

      @kgosimocwagae8700 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Muzi, the truth is that I bought it because it was my dream car. The average is because of the pops and bangs. We’re looking at 8L/100km during the week and about 15L/100km on weekends. For long distances it gives me 7-8L/100km 😉

      @@SenzoDlomo I’m over the moon. The fuel consumption is there due to my aggressive driving and I use those 205kw frequently. With normal driving I can get 8-9l/100km urban and 7-8km/100km long distance.

      So you proceed to grind, drill or stamp without ear protection? I'd rather have peace of mind in knowing my passengers (Magogo, kids, friends sometimes) have a curtain airbag should something hit from the side. They do save lives in a lot of scenarios. Yes, there are those accidents nothing will save you from, but you don't get to choose them!

    I had a Renault Megane GTline 2010 model. The best car brand ever since I also owned Merc, BMW (2014), Toyota, Isuzu and many other brands. I will buy a Duster any day. The best car based on price, fuel economy and offroad ability. I believe Renault make honest cars which serve their purpose well and is very economical. Look I am a mature person and look differently at cars and am not flashy, and a Duster fits my lifestyle and pocket well.

  • @Khanyisani_Bill
    @Khanyisani_Bill ปีที่แล้ว

    Renaults do have a parts availability issue, I don't know why but it does exist. I owned a second-hand Sandero and I struggled big time due to parts, even at scrapyards I struggled. At some point I had to just give up replacing headlights due to the loooong waiting period, I was told that the long waiting period is due to the fact that the headlights had to be imported, they were also too expensive coz of importing.
    Renaults are good cars though, I still miss some features from that Sandero which are not on my Vivo. I do not see any problems for someone who is buying it brand-new and they're planning to get rid of it within five years.

    I owned two Renault cars, the first was the Megane IV 1.6 Dynamique and never had any issues with it at all. And then I wanted something sportier and still went for a Megane, this time I got a 2017 Megane IV GT Turbo, this is the best (and most underrated) car I've owned so far. It had the performance and comfort I never expected. No issues with it either and I'm looking to go for the Megane RS Lux next 😅 I know, but I love this car!

      @@lesediseemela9856 the only issue I had in the ownership of the Megane GT was the battery going flat and wouldn't start, but I took it to the dealership and warranty covered it, it cost about R4000 because it's a special battery for cars with Start/Stop but my car was fine within a day.
      Oh, and there was one other issue I remember, the windows stopped working at some point and it turned out to be an electrical fault caused by water ingress/moisture inside the doors, which can happen after a couple years of ownership. I researched the issue and found that it's common with the 2016-2019 Megane models, but then I took the car to the dealership and it was also sorted within 2 days - also covered by warranty. I never had to wait too long for repairs and never paid a cent. Thanks to the warranty, maintenance plan and great dealership that always took good care of me.

    Thanks Muzi 🙏 Been looking out for a Duster review for a long time. Your channel’s definitely the best in SA, no comparison IMO. Just one thing: on the topic of airbags, with respect I think you are completely wrong. Watch enough crash test videos and see what a difference multiple airbags make. Especially in side-on collisions. I think something like 30% of fatalities are from t-bone style impacts. Your head can hit the shell of the car and the head of the person next to you, even in a relatively low-speed situation. You really want side air bags in that situation if possible.

    Can any one with a Duster 4x4 share its challenges if you keep it for too long. Mine is 3 years…. Just crying because dealership wants R6,5 k for brakes which is steep I think as such I am thinking of selling the car before it’s too expensive to keep. Other thing is the back seat is hard for long distance according to my children. But it’s way better than the previous shape. Still very confused to be honest If this will last me 10 years. I am good in taking care of cars… my children are using a 20 & 17 years old Japanese to travel long distances hence I ask if Duster can stand such long time
    Otherwise I will miss the technology and 4x4 capability. Fuel economy, that diesel is excellent

    Renault in actually a good car. Currently 145000km still work as long as u service it . Good fuel economy especially diesel no lie u can go far with one tank . Only problem is part s bit expensive but they ain't hugely expensive as people make them out to be . Safe wen it comes to theft . Just parts only e.g if a Toyota gearbox is 15k rental is 20k but the is no crazy waiting period like haval ,or other brands since most of the parts are kept in a Wearhouse but some they import.but if anyone is buying one I'll definitely recommend and they give huge discount on if u ask probably.

    I own a 2017 stepway and it has been good to me since I bought. I bought it as a second hand and have had it for just over 2 years and no issues at all, starts up every morning and has decent power....I had never driven a turbo charged engine before and I have to say I am loving it. For a 0.9 litre, it is not a efficient as I had hoped it would, I average around 6l/100km

    Don't listen to people, the fact that these car are sold in South Africa clearly you can get parts. Yes it's true some parts take time to be delivered because they must order them. So if you like a Renault buy it, you will get parts most importantly service the Car

    You are spot on with the Eastern cape comment!! I owned one from new for a year, had 4.8 as my average over 10000km. The car is fantastic. the issues i had were rear leg room space and also not enough power if you are not on a fuel run. Anything after 110 to 120 becomes a challenge, especially in the manual zen, which has the lowest output. I would have kept the car, but once i wanted a 4x4, I went back to a P series LT. Great vid, and SPOT ON as usual .

    I own the Clio 4, and it's the worst car I've ever owned. And I bought it new and fresh from the French box. I can't sing about Je ne sais quoi!!
    Poor ridge quality, let's not even talk about refinement.
    If it's the 1st car you've ever owned, you won't know the difference cause you've nothing better to compare it to.

    I am trying to get rid of it because I have spent so much on repairs.
