- Sorry if I sound awkward, I'm not used to recording myself :,D Also sorry for the times I smack into the mic lol.
There's a few things I forgot to mention in the video because it was 50% improv, like I think I didn't quite lay out all the relationships exactly so here they are.
Slugpelt is Asphodelpaw, Daffodilpaw, and Pinepaw’s mother. Her mate is deceased.
Blacknose is Beeface and Plumstripe’s mother. Her mate is Mallowstar.
Nightberry is Cootstorm, Redpelt, and Blacknose’s mother. Her mate is Cypressfoot, the father was a loner. (they're in lesbians with each other)
Egrettail and Cormorantpaw are from outside the Clan.
I said I was gonna talk about why the genetic pool being small was thematically important and then I just straight up forgot. ANYWAYS it's because the message/plot I was thinking of for this hypothetical story is that Pinepaw eventually comes to the conclusion that BarrenClan doesn't need to live on this terrible land, with a small, hungry Clan, punishing itself for mistakes of the past. They can all move on from the land and their history, starting a new life. And I didn't mention it, but the implication for Cormorantpaw and Egrettail is that they were from whatever "advancing army" group was mentioned in the backstory segment.
And all these designs were totally unplanned off the top of my head, just noodling around with patterns. I kinda disregard some of the generator prompts, especially with Redpelt, but I also don't care because I like all the designs.
Honestly I just got really attached to these little kitties. Beloveds.......

I freaking LOVE the backstory you gave this Clan. I'm a sucker for stories that show you the aftermath of whatever destruction took place, plus the backstory is just cool in general! And to be honest, I too would wanna give some backstories to whatever the generator gives me, even if it is just a challenge.

IDEA FOR THE STORY: Cormorantpaw and Egrettail and descendants of a group of pyromaniacal cats who were responsible for the forest fire in RoseClan, as well as the deaths of the other three Clans. Egrettail, while not being very keen on living up to the names of her ancestors, really doesn't care about the group, angering Cormorantpaw. Cormorantpaw wants to live up to the pyro group, creating chaos and making cats fear him like the group once did. It is up to Pinepaw to figure out what the other apprentice is planning, and find a way to stop it and help the former loner accept a more peaceful way of life.
Also, maybe Slugpelt is part of Cormorantpaw's plan, and that is the reason for the disappearance of the mother and brother. Slugpelt wanted them out of the way so they wouldn't catch on to this firey plan.

I think maybe cormorantpaw had some Dark Orders or something and was on the path to being evil... but at the end he and pinepaw have a little kissaroo and run away together when barrenclan moves on :)

Your Speedpaints are always so fun and engaging to watch, I love the concept of barren clan being like this post apocalyptic society dealing with that trauma , I also love how you included actual real issues a colony of cats would face like the amount of she cats and not being able to nurse kits I feel like warriors kinda geared away from that animalistic side. Watching this after the new episode is extremely funny. BarrenClan went from just a list of cats to a comic that has me gnawing on the bars of my enclosure.

Wow I’m not the only one who got slug in the generator and did a “maybe their parent(s) hates them” thought into the backstory. Though I got slugkit.

Slug is my fav prefix in the generator too. I got a hairless black tom called slugface and I adore that I cannot wait to find some time to draw him

Just a tip for future videos!! You might wanna put the music level a little lower, I had to keep turning my volume level down every time the music faded back in cuz it was too loud!!

What a coincidence, both of our clan generator clans have an apprentice named Cormorantpaw. That's interesting (not the most surprising since it is randomly generated it could make the same thing twice, i just think it's neat)

5:57 I have 1 critique about your designs so far. They look great, but Cootstorm is a ticked tabby, which is a tabby pattern with very little striping, mostly only on their face, legs and tail, so she shouldn't be as stripey as she is
this is a comic series about a talking BLUE cat recieving PROPHECIES about an evil CULT in the forest, i dont think raz cares about realistic stripes

I have a theory on why Cootstorm seems to hate Pinepaw. Considering what I have seen so far. Again potential spoilers everyone please do not look
Theory: Cootstorm hates Pinepaw because she secretly blames him and his sisters for the lack of loners. I think it was mentioned that until Cormorantpaw and Egrettail arrived, there hadn't been any loners after Pinepaw and his sisters' father. As such, Cootstorm blames them for nearly causing their clan to suffer from no other new blood coming. Her hate for Pinepaw fuels even further when he turns out that he doesn't want to have kits. Cootstorm is thinking, "You dare have the audacity not to have kits, considering you and your sisters OWE us for the lack of loners and the efforts we put in caring for you ungrateful cats!!"
I swear I have a hard time believing Cootstorm is related to Nightberry 😂😂
I cannot help but think that if BarrenClan were to know of Pinepaw and Cormorantpaw (When they get together at some point or so), maybe some cats would try to persuade (Pressure) Pinepaw or Cormorantpaw to have kits via a she-cat, as if thinking that's what would make it work easier for them and the Clan
